If it is every 48-72 hours then it sounds like you are right on track. What did the RE say?? They would have told you that they were concerned if they were. Are you going to have it repeated?? Try to relax and enjoy the here and now. I try not to let myself think about the bad stuff. Worrying will not help. Just talk to your little one(s)everyday and pray that things go well. I'm sure they will  When is your first U/S? Mine is on the 24th and I can't wait!!

Me: 36 DH: 36 - low count, motility & morphology TTC since April 2007 5 IUI's - 4 's & 1  IVF#1 w/ ICSI: Low Beta = 22 -  IVF#2 w/ ICSI: 10/30 - ER - 17 eggs - 13 mature - 8 fertilized 11/2 - ET @ 9:30am - 2 embabies - 8 cell grade 2 and 6 cell grade 2 11/5 - WE HAVE ONE SNOWBABY! 11/6 - P4 check - over 40 - they said it was EXCELLENT! 11/13 - BETA #1 @ 11dp3dt = 140 P4 = 32.6 11/15, 11/16 - HPT's - both 11/16 - Dx with UTI - start 7 day course of Amoxicillin 11/17 - BETA #2 @ 15dp3dt = 435  11/21 - BETA #3 @ 19dp3dt = ????

Update: my u/s now scheduled for wednesday 7/15
I called my RE back after my 3rd beta... and he said that sometimes betas dont quite double. But knowing my level of stress (my third IVF!)... he's asked me to come in for a very early u/s on wednesday itself (instead of next week).
I guess i'd rather they check and see if there's anything there, and how its doing (even if its a very early u/s and so they are not expecting to see a heart beat). So at least I dont have a week long wait now...  Hope its good news... but after 2 m/c its tough to keep optimistic. Would love some encouraging words... Anj

Anj, it was a good 3rd beta so don't worry but I know how hard that is so I'm glad you got an early u/s because that's what I did last week when I was worried. SO long as you know there probably won't be a heartbeat yet, whatever you do see will help you breath for a litle bit until the heartbeat can be detected-at least my early u/s did that for me. I go for 4th beta thursday and 2nd u/s friday and I'm praying to see a heartbeat. Hang on girl and good luck tomorrow!!!

I know its early to see heartbeat... but I think they will prob. just look at the gestational sac and see if there's an embryo inside. Hoping all is well, but feeling a little sick inside me. My DH says its like I have given up on my pregnancy already -- I think Im just steeling myself. Been online a LOT today... reading about betas rising like mine, and how women have gone ahead and had healthy babies ... and somehow the cynicism of 2 previous IVFs has caught up with me... and I've become all gloomy and pessimistic. Hope the cloud lifts tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Anj, it sucks that today didn't help much so you're still waiting to know but I know how you feel about the unkown, it makes me crazy and pushes me to visit my friend Google which makes me crazier. I'm praying things get better for you. If they don't this time, whatever you do next WILL BE BETTER!!

Just got back from the u/s. There was nothing significant to be seen, which I guess is good news. There MAYBE something at the end of one of my tubes, but it is hard to tell. In any case, it just takes a very small left over piece to continue to produce the hcg. So, the next step is to decide how we are going to end this thing. We can take a drug called methotrexate which is a cancer drug that stops rapid cell division/growth and will do the same on any embryonic, fetal or placenta cells. Unfortunately, if this is the option we choose we won't be able to try again for 3 months. The other option is to wait it out and possibly risk needing emergency surgery and there is greater risk with this option. Both my RE and nurse said if it were their daughter they would recommend taking the drug... it is the safer option. On the way home dh asked does this solidify our decision to move onto adoption for now and try ivf again later... and I am thinking yes! If anyone has any experience with this drug I would really appreciate your input! My prayer right now is that my beta taken today has dropped and none of this is necessary!

KelB, I hope whatever you decide (drugs or waiting it out) will work best for you. Or if you go with adoption, I'm sure the baby you bring home will light up your lives! I wish you the best going forward.

Hi Ladies,
It's been dead around here for a few days. I hope you're all well. AFM I had u/s today and got a HEARTBEAT!! Heart rate was 122 bpm which my dr said was perfect so I'm happy!!Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
