I have to go to the dentist today. I forgot all about it as I made the appt back in March and didn't have my IVF schedule yet. I forgot to mention it to the Dr. So I'm just going to tell the dentist no Xrays. If they find anything I wounld want to take the novacaine so...i guess i might as well wait till we know its safe. But I could use a cleaning so I'm keeping the appt. The other thing that i forgot before starting this cycle was last year I had my baseline IF testing done by my OBGYN when I went in for my annual. Well as things develop she referred me to find and RE. That was 6/6/08...and I forgot to make and appt for my annual so I messed up there. My paps are ususally normal, I know they can change but I can't go back know I will wait and see how things go and then mention it to my RE if I need to. I've heard some drs will do a pap when you preg others won't.

All this POAS is making me reconsider, its way to early now but maybe next week. I dunno... we'll see.

Does any one have a plan on what they are doing after they get there Beta results?

This is gonna come as a shocker but I feel really beside myself now. I still can believe that we got through it all. We were almost cancelled twice and after both set backs I managed to muster up enough strength to say well we will just have to try again and then was in shock (Happy shock)to find out that things improved and we would move forward. Now that we have gone through transfer I'm kind of numb, I can't seem to feel as positive as I did at the beginning of all this but I truely want this to work and I'm worried I'm not putting out enough positive energy like I'm gaurding myself. Can anyone relate?

Hi everyone. First lots of to all of us. We transferred 3 embryos on Friday and beta is 6-19-09. My dr only recommends 24 hours of bed rest so I have been back to normal activity for the most part. I'm not sure but I think I have OHSS or at least a mild case. My abdomen is still pretty bloated, lots of pressure and twinges and I am pretty nasueous all the time. I don't remember feeling this bad after the last transfer.

Hey ladies! I am currently in the 2ww. Can I join you? I had 2 embabies transferred in a 5dt last Wednesday. I go for my first beta tomorrow and then another on Thursday. I don't think they will give me the results until after Thursday's though. So far I don't really think I am pg as I don't have any symptoms. I am a little dizzy and tired but am sure it is from the progesterone. This morning my boobs are feeling a little weird so I don't know! I can't bring myself to POAS because I don't want to be disappointed. Good luck to everyone! Hoping for for all of us.

I'm taking it easier than I normally would, not riding the mower, or lifting heavy things or such, but I'm still worried that maybe I didn't give my embies the best start. I wish there was universal instructions for IVF, it seems like all docs vary so much.

I am also getting quite constipated, does anyone know of any stool softeners that are safe to take?

Stay positive everyone

My dr told me bedrest for 24 hours. I don't think I was such a good patient. I just have a hard time laying sitting unless I'm sick. But I was worried to and googled bedrest after ET. I found that there have been a couple of studies that suggest that it does not make a difference. Apparently the embryo after it is transfered will usually stick to the side of the uterus and the its just a matter of if it will implant. It still seems you should not be doing anything strenuous like heavy duty cleaning, strenuously exercising or an outing to an amusment park I just tried to not stress and be somewhat lazy. Kind of like a princess, no cooking, no cleaning, but if I did take the dog for a short walk and I folded some laundry while siting in a chair.

I'm actually reassured that everything is fine now that I know your dr told you not to worry about bed rest.

We have cleared the weekend... our beta is Friday. I work Friday, so I'm just going to have them leave a message. If it's a negative, I'm going to lay low and drink pina coladas. I'll start making phone calls to other clinics on Monday. If it's positive (please, God, please!!!), we're going to call our friends who have been so supportive and let them know. Then I think I'll read everything I can google about having a good first trimester.

Like you, I'm not as positive anymore. I can't decide if I'm in tune with my body and I'm not pg, or if I'm just trying to protect myself. I can only focus on the negatives that happened in our cycle. I think we've all been through so much to get here; I'm programmed to think that this whole pregnancy thing is not going to work. But, there is hope!!! I keep reminding myself that I CANNOT give up on my 3 embabies, yet.

I hope you start feeling better... I know it's difficult. Keep us updated!

Can I ask why you'd go to another clinic if you are only on cycle 1?

thebunn and sweetprincesslauren- I feel much the same as you two do. I am kind of preparing myself for bad news but sometimes will feel really positive and think it is going to happen. My RE has told me I have about a 60% that I will be pg but that still means there is a 40% that I won't be and I don't think those odds are very good. They say positive thinking helps increase your chances so I am trying to do my best. I just can't say that I EVER see myself pg so I am having a hard time.

As for what to do after the results... We too have a bunch of people to call and inform because they have been with us through the whole IVF process. That is if it is positive. If it's negative then I don't really want to have to break the news to them. It will be hard! So I don't know when or how we will tell them. DH and my anniversary is the following week so we will probably wait to celebrate both with a nice dinner. If it's negative I plan on digging a whole and never coming out!

I hope you girls don't mind but I'm gonna join you here - in 2.5 hours I will be PUPO! I'm so excited as I had an emotionally rough cycle with only five follies - I thought they were going to cancel me.

Lauren, I'm so happy for you by the way!!

Wishing you all

As we've gone through our first cycle, we realized that we don't fit with our clinic well. We loved our RE, but we only saw him for our original consult in January and the transfer. Every RE we saw during our cycle messed up something... I think they are just too big and don't have time to get things right:

RE#1 had me all scheduled and ordered for an IUI until I told her that we were doing IVF. She said that she didn't see that in my chart (apparently she didn't even look at it).

RE #2 totally botched my stim cycle and decided to keep my dosage the same when I was three times higher than where they should have been. I only got 4 days on stims and had to coast for 2 days (my ER reflected the poor stim cycle). One of my favorite things he said is, "I don't know what you're responding this way; you're not my patient; I don't know your chart".

RE #3 wrote up my ER orders totally against everything we had written in our chart and signed in the legal papers, simply because she was more comfortable with her way. I was bawling my eyes out and dh had to call our RE at home to talk with his colleague. I refused to go in for the ER until we were all on the same page.

So, we just feel like we need to see the same people consistently throughout the process. This is so important for us and we got to a point where we didn't trust them anymore. We decided to continue our cycle there and then go some where different, if there was a need.

Sorry this is so long... I know that the first cycle is a crap shoot and it's preferred to give the first clinic a second chance to adjust your protocols to avoid a second failure. But, I just don't trust them and aren't comfortable there. If it were just our RE and the nursing staff, we'd definitely stay!!

Thanks Amy and Steph! I have it in the back of my head that "you've got to believe" so I've been feeling like well if I don't believe does that mean it won't happen. Almost everyone I know (and everyone I know well) in real life who's done IVF got a BFP on the first try. I keep thinking I am going to be the one who bucks the trend. Generally I am optomistic about everything, but I am scared of how this is going to turn out. I should'nt think like this so I'm going to stop.

Amy, My plans are like yours basking in pregnantness (new word, I think) if its good, if its bad news liquid dinner and moving on to what we do different next time.

Steph, Don't bury yourself under a rock, there could be gross bugs under it! You have to believe that whatever happens you will go on! Somwhow we will all find the strength to deal with any outcome.

WOW! That is crazy I don't blame you a bit. My clinic has 2 Re's and I saw my Re every visit except for 3: SSG/Mock Transfer, and the 1st 2 Stim US-the other dr thought I was a slow responder and consulted with my dr each time before making any changes to my dosages. After that I only saw my dr. Our first experience with an RE was a larger office and totally unorganized; I'm glad we are at a smaller office now. ou should express your concerns to your RE in person and in a letter regardless of how theis turns out!

After that I only saw my dr. Our first experience with an RE was a larger office and totally unorganized; I'm glad we are at a smaller office now. ou should express your concerns to your RE in person and in a letter regardless of how theis turns out!

That is crazy. I thought I was the only one that had that HMMMMMMM feeling about my RE. The only time I saw my RE is for the initial meeting and when she did the mock transfer. When I had the ER someone else did it and when I had the ET someone else did it. What was the point of selecting her as my RE?

Well right now I am at work feeling high and drowsy from the prometrium. I told my BFF who I work with so she is checking on me from time to time. I need something to do with myself b/c this 2ww is killing me!!!

I'm glad that other people think my RE situation is weird and sub-par!! Sometimes I think I'm just hormonal and moody, but I really think our cycle just went really badly. I'm sure other people at are clinic are beyond pleased, but for some reason, we got the short stick! I think I will write our RE a letter; he's a great man and I'm sure he'd want to know.

On a side note: I'm totally tired of getting cramps in my stomach and not knowing what in the world is going on! Implantation? Meds? AF? Gas? It's impossible to get my mind off of this whole wait when I'm constantly reminded!!
