Mouse - My fsh and other blood work is all normal. I also had good hormone levels all through my last cycle. We had three embies to put back last cycle and nothing to freeze. Without the PGD testing, two were graded very good and one was graded good. I suspect that if we'd gone forward with PGD, that we would have learned that none of the three were actually good and the cycle would have been canceled at that point. I truly think my problems age related since that is the only real difference I know of between having my DS and now. I guess we'll know more in August.

Bella - Your posts crack me up. GL on starting your stims. I'm sorry to say that especially once you start the progesterone, it really bloats most people. I'm still wearing a size larger than I normally do. That is one thing I'm going to focus on while I'm waiting, dropped down to a clothing size before I have to start more medication.

Okay, that does make a lot more sense. PGD just tests about half of the chromosomal pairs while CGH tests all of them but PGD testing is done on day 3 with results coming in on day 5 so you can still do a fresh transfer. CGH is still very new. When I researched it, I heard a lot of stories about women who had normal embryos not make the freeze while the abnormal ones did make it -- I can't imagine how heartbreaking that must be. So, while CGH is more thorough, I think we are going to stick with PGD especially since PGD tests for the most common issues.You are so lucky to have been part of a study, that is really great. We are paying for PGD out of pocket and it is really expensive. Who do you use in NJ? I am here as well (but I use Sher Institute in NYC).

We are going to RMA of NJ in the Morristown office. My husband and I started at Weill Medical College at Cornell in NYC...but it was too far of a commute so they recommended RMA. They said it was the best in NJ.

About the Royal Jelly - I bought a big jar of it but haven't really been great about taking it. I guess I should start!!! Does anyone know if it's okay to mix it in with tea or do I need to take it straight to get the full potency?

Also, I should be a pro at this now but I am a little rusty. I got a huge welt on my belly after my Lupron shot last night and it's still red and inflamed 24hours later. Have any of you ladies ever had this happen? It did sting when I did the shot last night. Thank you in advance for your help!

PS - I also LOVE Grey's Anatomy and am thinking about the True Blood series. I've heard that Big Love is also addictive so I'm thinking about that while I'm on bedrest!

The Royal Jelly I have says "Don't mix with hot liquids" on the bottle, so I don't recommend adding it to tea!

Bella - Your mix sounds interesting. Where did you hear about it?

Maggie- My Royal Jelly also says not to mix with anything hot. I just take it straight up. I have also had reactions like that but am pretty sure it was with my stims. It did not happen all the time but did go away by the next shot on that side. I also LOVE Big Love. I am sure my On Demand and DVR will get a lot of use during my 2ww.

I am so curious to see if the Royal Jelly changes anyone's quality

I have been taking royal jelly w/DHEA and I feel it has made a difference for me! In April when I initially went in for my first ultrasound, I only had 8 eggs showing. In June I had 9. This morning I went in for my day 3 ultrasound and I have 12 eggs showing. I'm thinking "god, why couldn't I have all these eggs when I did my cycle 2months ago??" Oh well. I would definitely stick with the rj and ask your RE about the DHEA. Never mix the rj with anything hot. It tastes nasty, but I would just hold my nose and down a big spoonful. Mouse - WOW. You are poster child for RJ!!! My prenatal has a capsule that is DHA - is that essentially the same as DHEA? (Probably not, sorry for the silly question)!

My shot last night was better. I think I over iced my belly the night before. Sheesh!

Oh the things I learn here...I've never heard of royal jelly. I'm in middle of stims right now, I wonder if it is too late to start? Just had us and b/w this AM and I need to continue with injections with another us and bw tomorrow AM. I have lots of follicles but they are all 11 or below. I was really hoping for ER tues (roughly based on last cycle)but they are saying more like thurs/fri now.

I do my shots myself. My DH was given them to me but he was out of town and I had to step up so I did and I just kept doing it. We just went to sox game the other night and no way was I bringing my injection stuff to fenway. My RE told me it would not impact anything to take shots late or early just once. They suggested earlier though so I did not forget to take shots...like that would ever happen...this is my life right now...
JDW- sorry to hear you have to wait, but this means you may have the summer off for your maternity leave.

My weight gain has been weird. The scale doesn't say I'm heavier but my fat seems to be redistributed...right to my belly...maybe this is prep for a . It would be worth it.

My DH and I just rented season 1 of 30 rock. that show is hysterical.
Bella- cool job, I started to prep for tests a long time ago and then ended up going into PT so put that on the back urner. It is definitely something I'd like to pursue in the future. do you work at a health club or do you do it privately?

Justone- I'm actually not doing a fresh cycle this month. I'm doing FET with my 2 frozen blasts. I was shocked about the 12 follies because the past two months when I was doing my stims I only started my cycle with the 8 follies each time. There is a big difference between 12 and 8 follies when beginning a new cycle. I really think the rj/DHEA is the reason. I am going to continue taking it just in case I have to do another fresh cycle. I would recommend starting even if you're in the middle of your cycle. Ask your RE just to be on the safe side. I'm not sure what stims you are on and you don't want the RJ to interfere (not sure if it would...but just to be on the safe side).

MaggieMay- I am pretty sure DHEA is the same as DHA. DHEA also comes in a capsule...but the RJ is the best when it is fresh.

Shu- How are you feeling???

South- For my FET cycle I am taking bcp, Lupron, Estrace (estrogen pills), Medrol, and Progesterone.

Yesterday I took a trip to Babies R'Us. I had to buy a VERY late baby shower gift for one of my friends who had twins a few months ago. At the time I was supposed to go to the baby shower, but then bailed out at the last minute because I was so depressed about my fertility problems. When I was in there I started feeling the most excited feeling I think I have ever felt...next to my wedding day that is. I spent over an hour in the store looking at everything. Then I started feeling terrified again. What if this doesn't work? I have a new fear today. What if during the thawing process my 2 embies don't survive?? When I went in for my bloodwork/us this morning, I asked to speak with a nurse. She told me the office has a high success rate with thawing (80% with strong blasts). But...there is always a risk. I'm still terrified though. Has anyone done FET and can offer some advice on how their embryos fared the thaw? I'll feel much better if I hear some success stories.

Hi Mouse - I did an FET last summer. My embies were frozen on day 3 both were 8cell grade B when they were frozen . They both made the thaw one intact 8 cell grade B and 1 lost 1 cell at 7 cell grade B. RE told me it was normal for them to lose some cell in the thaw. I hate all the feelings we have to feel .

Hi South,
I didn't realize you could lose individual cells within the embryo. I thought you could lose the whole embryo. I guess you risk losing either. I am so nervous. The thought of having to do another whole cycle and going through weeks of testing makes me so upset. I am trying not to think about it though. I notice you are on your 6th cycle? You have been through alot. This has to be your cycle. I'm rooting for you.
