Hmmm, why is that? You'd think that they would be a bit more sympathetic/understanding than the average person. I know I was shocked!! It was hard not to say something back.. but I held my tongue. Then, when they'd complain about pregnancy symptoms n such, I'd get angry again and wanted to tell them where to go and how to get there hahaha <-- Needless to say, I dont go to that thread anymore...

Hi ladies
SouthhamptonS - we have unexplained but we still did ICSI with our 1st cycle - just to be sure. There's always the possibility that my DH's sperm cant penetrate my eggs, so we weren't taking any chances. <-- I recently asked our RE about AH, and he says they used to do it a lot years ago, now they don't really do it anymore!? He said it has been shown, in some cases, to decrease the success...!? I don't know..... I was thinking about asking him to do it....but... now not so sure... I will never complain (too loud) about pregnancy symptoms. I'd say never ever, but come on, if I am one of those poor women who get deathly sick, I might just complain for a minute - but: never to someone who is still trying to conceive, and not for long, for as soon as the feeling passed, I'd be pretty excited again! Bring on the morning sickness I say! LOL <-- Not many people wish to puke - except those of us fighting IF!! ![]() How is everyone doing? Anyone doing anything special this time around - that you either did, or didn't do last time? Myself, I'll be doing acupuncture again and also thinking about a massage or 2 - why not, my medical coveres 80% of one Though with my new medical, I have to get a prescription from my RE or regular Dr for both the above!? WTF? ![]() Also: about a month ago I started taking something called Greens Plus - it has all sorts of good things like: Alfalpha, Barley and Wheat Grass jiuce powder, Bee Pollen powder, Carrot juice powder, Royal jelly, etc. I also added another royal jelly - as I've heard it really good for egg quality and can make a pretty good difference. Been taking those for about a month now and will have been on them for about 6 - 8 weeks by the time I start stimming - go eggies go! Anyone else doing anything special or have any tips for us (fairly) newbies here? |

Hi Bella - I am taking Royal Jelly and Bee Pollen myself. This is my first time taking them. I have been on them a little over a month.
for a positive result. I will also be listening to Anji IVF cd. I started seeing a therapist in hopes to deal with the stress![]() Hi Ladies Samantha

Ahhh the stress - have you ever noticed just how much you want a stiff drink while going through the entire process of IVF? Never in my life had I wanted a drink so bad LOL
Yes, let's hope the pee pollen, wheat grass and royal jelly help us get the positives we so long for..... at this point, if someone said it would help to stand on my head for 2 weeks - I'd get my husband to hold my ankles and every now and then, run to get me some water to drink. LOL I had a minor meltdown the other night, thinking about what we were about to put ourselves through again <-- It happens. Aside from a possible negative result, the part I'm most terrified of is the retrieval <-- Where I'm from, they don't put you to sleep, you're wide awake the entire time. Not only that, but when they did it last time, I felt everything <-- The 'good' drugs they gave me, did nothing - so I got to lay there, not moving and feeling needles going in and through my vagina <-- Not something a woman should feel once in her lifetime, let alone twice - I pray they give me better drugs this time.... Oh well, I'm a woman, I can take it.... come on - I'll do **** near anything to finally see one of those!! Happy Friday to everyone. ![]() |

Can I join your thread? After what we thought was a successful cycle in April/May, we learned that we lost our baby in June during our third ultrasound. My DH and I are very sad, but ready to move forward and look toward the future. We meet with our RE on July 10th and are anxious to hear what she suggests doing differently if we try for another cycle. We are hoping to try again in August.
Third and South - I remember you both from the April/May thread and was glad to see that you're both going to try again too. I was curious if your doctors had any ideas about why your last cycles didn't work and are suggesting anything different for your cycles this time?

I'm so happy that this thread was started. It will be nice to have a place to chat with other experienced IVFers. Sometimes I just don't feel like reading through all the questions by first timers on the other boards. I hope that every single one of us gets our BFPs this cycle. I will keep thinking good thoughts for everyone. My husband and I leave for Hawaii on Sunday for a week, so I might be MIA for a few days. I might sneak my computer into my carry-on though when DH isn't looking ;-).

I'm so sorry for your losses :-(. My first IVF resulted in a miscarriage at 10 weeks, so I feel your pain. Here's to hoping we both get our sticky babies this go around!

jdw - of course you can join - the more the merrier - and I actually agree with 2lines, as with this thread, we've all been through IVF (at least once) and so it's nice to be able to chat with others who have been too.
jdw - I'm also sorry for your loss and yours too 2lines, if I didnt say so before. I cant imagine going through that, really I cant. You 2 are VERY strong amazing women and you'll see nothing but 's this time and going all the way - expanding waist, swollen feet and sore boobs - all the way!2lines, can I squeeze into your suitcase - pretty please? I'm small and if I start stretching now, it jst might work!? hehehe <-- Enjoy your time there, relax, drink, lay on a beach and have mind blowing, non baby making sex with your DH - maybe even on the beach!? hehehe You deserve it..... ![]() |

Hi Ladies! I would love to join, I just had my 1st failed IVF cycle...I am past the disappointed stage and just frustrated and wishing I could know why? I have my appointment with my Dr on Wed. I am still deciding if I am going to take a month or not so will either start July or August. I try not to compare myself to others but what frustrated me is when ladies with worse conditions and egg quality get
and the rest of us have no answers as to why it didn’t work. I was pregnant a year ago and right now I keep feeling like I will never see a again until I actually do see one.

If only I had room in my suitcase ;-). I recently lost 40 pounds since my miscarriage in April, so I went a little crazy buying new clothes for the trip. DH begged me to go clothes shopping because he was sick of the frumpy big clothes look LOL. I can't imagine why! Now I think he regrets sending me out to the store! After my m/c I had some serious gall bladder issues and had it removed, so DH knew that I was at my wits end. He surprised me with this trip as something to look forward to and it has gotten me through a rough couple of months. I can't wait to have the time to reconnect and just relax together. We need to work up the energy to make it through this next cycle in July/August. I have a good feeling about this one. I've been changed to an antagonist protocol this time so I am hoping I respond as well as last time. I couldn't deal with the Lupron and bcp headaches again, so I'm cycling without BCPs and using Ganirelix instead. I pray that this works! Good luck to everyone. I think this is going to be such a great support system. This is exactly what I need to make it through the next cycle!

! Though I am sorry that you have to be here; I cannot imagine what you've been through. I that your RE has some excellent solutions for you!It took a lot of convincing to get DH to do this again; he's far from convinced that it will work...so I have to be positive for both of us. The docs don't seem to have any reason for me as to why this hasn't worked yet...so this time around they are going to pump me full of more drugs...their thought is that more drugs will lead to more eggs and hopefully that will do the trick. I'm really nervous about OHSS since my first cycle my E2 was 5800 at retrieval (#2 was only 2200 on the same meds). I was supposed to have my schedule already so I would know if I am a July or August gal, but the labs were a bit slow; I'm hoping to know by Tuesday. I've been keeping my distance a little until I have a bit more certainty. This cycle will be THE cycle!!

Hi Ladies
Bella- Holy smokes. I can't believe you are awake for er. Is there anything else they can give you? I agree - I would try anything if I thought it would help my chances ![]() JDW- I am so very sorry for your loss . I had a missed mc in Nov and understnand the pain you are going through. Anytime you need an ear. I'm here. Because my last 2 cycles were unsuccessful my RE took my case to board at my clinic so everyone could chime in. We did some more testing a hystroscopy(sp?) with an endomitril biopsy(again sp). All looked good and biopsy cme back clear from infections. So again no answers. But I am on a different protocol. Start Lupron cd 21 till supression check. Then 600 units of Gonal-F and if there are 3 embies to transfer we will be putting back 3. I pushed for 3 this time because of my age and the fact that this is probably out last IVF attempt. So can't wait to see how I respond. I hope your RE answers all of your questions. 2lines - Have a great time Where in Hawaii are you going? You are soo lucky. What a great way to relax before you get started. I dito you on having a great support system.JP I hate not knowing as well. 3rdtime - You have the right attitude. Dh will come around. What meds and what doses will you be on? I am on my highest dose ever so I am also nervous for ohss. Hope everyone has a nice weekend ![]() Samantha

We're going to Kauai. I've been once, but my hubby has never been to that island so I am so excited to go with him. Last time I went I did this really great ocean kayaking tour that takes you to some hike in waterfalls. I am definitely going to try to do that again. We're bringing our snorkeling gear too so I am going to try to ask the locals where the best places to go are. We're going to check out this luau: Kauai Luaus. You can't go to Hawaii and not go to a luau right? I dabble in photography in my spare time so I am excited to finally have time to take pictures again. My poor digital SLR hasn't been getting much use lately. After the m/c I wasn't exactly in the photo taking mood for a while. I'm finally starting to feel like my old self again though and I am excited to get this IVF rolling. This is going to be the answer for all of us. I feel lots of BFPs coming on!

jp - 'I am past the disappointed stage and just frustrated and wishing I could know why?' <-- I personally don't think I'll ever get past the disappointed stage - cuz it just sucks some serious butt!! And, made even more frustrating when they don't know why it didnt work. You know, if I didnt have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all hehehe <-- Though that's changing this time - I can feel a big
coming my way, and I'm going to cry like a lil school girl when I finally see it! LOL2lines - OMG - congrats on losing the 40 pounds - you ROCK!!! You should be sooo proud of yourself <-- Can you tell that I'm a Personal Trainer? LOL But seriously.. that's sooo awesome!! And yes, you and DH have a wonderful time and enjoy wearing all those NON frumpy clothes - do share pix when you get back. 3rdtimesthecharm - Good for you for thinking so positively!! I firmly believe that this cycle will be THE ONE for all of us here - people will talk about us for a long time - the one group that every single one of us got our long awaited Go team go! Samantha - Yup, they dont put us to sleep here and that's terrifying, especially knowing what it was like last time - OMG - there will be no sleep the night be4 that procedure. Praying that they gimme some really fancy drugs so I dont feel it this time ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, Samantha, sounds like our protocols are pretty similar too, I too am starting Suprefact on CD 21, with no BCP's then about a week later - stimming. It's getting close now.... 13 sleeps until it all begins <-- Not that I'm counting LOL 2lines - OMG I'm so excited for you - I've been to Hawaii too - YEARS ago, when I was 16. We too went to a luau and ate pig that was cooked in a pit in the ground.. and purple potatoes and watched a flame throwing dude, who had to stop half way through, as he almost lost his 'loin cloth' hehehe Would have been more entertaining should he have lost it tho, I must admit hehe And OMG, you dabble in photography too - so do I!! I love it, and I couldnt agree with you more about not feeling up to it lately <-- I just took mine out last night to take some pix of the flowers my DH got me for my BDay! When taking pix - it can get you away from everything - you go into your own little world..... which is sure nice at times. ![]() 's are coming - 's are coming!!! I can't freakin wait!! heheHappy Saturday everyone!!! PS - Any of you have tattoos? I got a tattoo last year on my BDay to symbolize our fight with IF - I got the word 'Believe' written in fancy script on my wrist and funky lotus flowers up my left calf - lotus flowers are thought to symbolize .... 'coming out on top' I guess would be the best way to describe it. They start growing on the bottom of a dirty pond, and rise to the top to bloom, beautifully. So they symbolize our fight with IF, our struggles - only to rise to the top and overcome it. <-- Anyways, the reason I asked, is also because I'm going to get more today (warning, if you dont have tattoos, they're addicting) I have a huge koi fish on my right shoulder (from shoulder to elbow) symbolizing 'strength and courage to get through lifes difficulties' and now I'm gettng more added on today - getting some cherry blossoms and more lotus flowers to add to it. Green seems to be the most popular color symbolizing fertility - so you can bet your butt that there will be some green added as well ![]() |
