Well, I am back from ET. We had a long talk beforehand-RE, embryologist, DH and me. While it is great news that 3 embies passed testing, they are more than 50% fragmented which is not good. They explained it as unhealthy cells that are dying off. At my clinic, they grade embies, 1, 2, or 3 with 3 being the lowest. All mine are grade 3 but one looks slightly better than the other two. I asked how often they get live births from grade 3 embies and they told us that they normally do not transfer grade 3s at all b/c they are such poor quality. Oh. In our case, since we have confirmation that they are normal, they told us that they would go ahead with the transfer. They estimate we have a 5% chance of one making it. I guess that makes this a longshot! But I will take the odds, whatever they are and just keep praying for a miracle.

So, I am officially PUPO with triplets!! I even know the sexes which is super cool. :-)

JOM- Don't give up hope. They have already beaten the odds and come back normal from the pgd. You never know, one or more make attach. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. They deserve a chance to try.

YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!! They say it is darkest before dawn! I will remain optomistic but from what I am reading on the internet, if greater than 20% fragmentation the embryo likely arrest and not grow past 8 cells (mine are 50% fragmentation). BUT, all 3 of my fighters are well past 8 cells so time will tell if they can go the distance or not. For me, the important thing is that we were able to produce normal embryos. If this doens't work this time, we will jump right in and try again.

Beta 1 is on 8/7 and beta 2 is on 8/11.

I'm still experiencing some off and on slight cramping. Is anyone else feeling this after transfer? I'm getting very nervous.

Hi Mouse - I am still cramping on and off. Do you have any lower back pain. I have that as well. I have a long list of things that I am feeling. Just try to take it easy. Hope you are having a nice night with DH What meds are you on?

I have been having some slight lower back pain. I went grocery shopping earlier and noticed it. Don't worry nothing major... I just picked up a few things dinner. I was worried back pain meant my period is knocking on the door. She better stay away!! I will try to relax..but it's hard not to think about it ever minute.

Mouse - I am on the same dose of PIO and I have had cramping for days. The 2ww realy is a b***h. I also have sore bb which I have not had since I nursed. With all IVF since my son that has not happened. I feel like the PIO is really giving it to me this time. I am going crazy and I am only 3 days out :0. I can't remember if I asked will you POAS? I know I plan to - but I have to admit I will be deathly afraid! I just don't understand why my BETA is soooo late.

jom-you already have eggs that have been strong and beaten the odds. I'm praying that the strong gene prevails!!!The one thing I've learned about ivf is the odds can often times not really amount to anything, because each cycle is different.

maggie- 3 to transfer, yeah and then hopefully 3 to freeze. will be thinking of you

2 lines- will you transfer all 4 or freeze some?

Mouse, I'm so happy both made it through the thaw and are now warm and snuggly. I had some mild cramping after my transfer . we got a pic also. which i think is pretty cool.

As far as POAS goes, dh doesn't want me too. My nurse said because of all the hormones in my body that I will always get a positive even if I'm not. So that kind of freaked me out a bit. Did you do a 3dt..if you did then you and I are right about in the same place...I transferred two 6 day embies. When in your beta again. I go in tomorrow for a progesterone check. Did u do this? My first beta is 8/7.

Hi Ladies! Just wanted to check in and say Hello , and congrats to all of you who are officially PUPO and all the ER and ET's this week.
Justone-congrats on Which Dr did your transfer? you go to RSC right? there is a few that go there and i know one of the ladies goes to Boston IVF.

AFM: my baseline check was fine, everything looked good, they didnt tell me anything else other then everything was perfect there they want it to be and i start stims on Sat. I also have a wedding, on Saturday, i am going with my friend and i was so excited when i foudn out that they only have the hall until 9pm and i can have an early night and wont have to rush home so DH can give me the shot. I also will need to pretend to be drinking since my friend doesnt know about IVF, needless to say it should be an interesting time....Wish me luck! i feel to sketchy in a way.
So is it odd that i didnt really get my period, on the day it was supposed to start after i ended the pill, i started having minor spotting but no actual bleeding. I am pretty sure that my last cycle i had an actual period. Is this normal? i know its normal to get it or not to get it and both are possible but just throught it was odd that i got it last time but not this time around.

Mine with my successful IVF was 49.8, so on the lower end but in the range and I had a fantastic, problem-free pregnancy. I hope you are blessed with the same! SUCH GOOD NEWS TODAY!!! So happy for you. Enjoy this amazing time.

CaGirl - I'm sorry that you will be starting over. I know that with this, waiting, even if it is one day or one month is so, so difficult. It's such an emotional process as it is. I had to wait two months longer than I wanted because my RE's schedule was not going to work with my cycle. In the end, I am glad I waited for him (and didn't decide to go with another RE in the practice). Things will work out for you, though I know today is hard day. Hang in there! It will all be worth it when you get PG and bring a baby home to love.
