I feel the same way, upset if I don’t go into it as in I hate to be wasting time and also what if going into it means a failed cycle. I am so torn. I am hoping to get my period tomm or following day and I am meeting with my Dr on Wed and hoping to have some answers. DH has great sperm and I was told eggs were great but I only had 2 good embryos by Day 3 so I am really worried that we produce bad quality embryos and it will never work. Hopefully when I meet with my Dr I will regain some hope and can move forward...I was told all along that the first dose of IVF is sort of a trial dose since they don’t know how our bodies will react to I guess we have to keep remembering that! Did the Dr change your cycle from your first cycle?

jdw - The most annoying thing anyone has said to me - seriously - you want me to limit it to just one thing? How bout a couple: Just yesterday and friend of mine (who took an entire 2 weeks to conceive twins - no kidding) was telling me that I just need to relax, it'll happen when I'm stress free as it took her Mom quitting her job and relaxing, then she got pregnant <-- OK, is that supposed to make me feel better - that it took her Mom a couple years? And, I'm sorry, but I was pretty relaxed the entire first year we were trying - why didnt it happen then!? Grrrr, I just smiled, bit my tongue and nodded my head. Or how about: 'Adopt, then you'll find out your pregnant' Or the best one yet 'If it's meant to be, it'll happen' <-- F'n Excuse me? Bella, it must be all the drugs i am already taking b/c i swear I just welled up reading your note. From your mouth to G-d's ears!! I would be honored to lead the way with a BFP!

I have a surpression check tomorrow to see how things are going. I am looking forward to getting a peak and ensuring things are on track. Anyone on Lupron? Boy that stuff is throwing me for a loop -- headaches, moodiness, insomnia, bloat. Ah, the things we do for love!! At least I am off the BCPs (yay!). Every step closer is a bit of a relief. What's everyone's schedules? Who else is cycling in July?

jp1981 - I TOTALLY understand about being excited to stop the vaginal suppositories - man they suck - BUT, don't get me wrong, I'll be more than willing to deal with them for as long as needed once I get my this cycle. <-- Positive thinking at it's finest.

I personally got my BFN on May 19th and couldnt start a new cycle fast enough. My husband and I are both the sam in our thinking - while we can - lets go for it. If we were to just sit around and wait a few months, it would have killed us. We can only 'afford' this last fresh and one FET (as we have 3 frozen ones now) and then we'll be done <-- We dont have insurance and have to pay for everything out of pocket <-- Soo UNFAIR that it's decided who can be parents, by what they can afford. Come on !!

I dont do Lupron, I do Suprefact - same thing, different drug <-- I'm from BC <-- If that explains anything hehehe I was allowed to skip the BCP's this time - thank Gawd - they threw me for a loop last time - and I start the Superfat in 11 sleeps hehehe Go ahead, laugh at me counting by sleeps! LOL So I'll be stimming in July - just not sure the dates yet.... I should fins out my schedule within the next week or so. I can't wait - it's even more 'real' once you have that in your hand!!

Well, Shawna it is then.

Lupron has the most loveliest side effects -- which is why I am killing time at 3am. Can't tell you how I wish I could sleep!! My last Lupron is actually tomorrow, then I switch to cetrotide. I am hoping those side effects aren't so bad.

I know what you mean about the calendar. My RE provides a color coded printout. I have been "x"ing off the days after I take the meds for the day. Every big X makes me feel one day closer!

jp - my quality of eggs/emrbyos was "that of a 35 year old woman" on ganirelix. (according to my doc). i only stimmed 8 days...and that's just cause he extended it a day. i would've just done 7. anyway, he thinks lupron is better for me cause i respond so well to the stims. and i know the different protocols DO have a direct affect on your quality of eggs/embryos.

I've heard Lupron can have some pretty nast side effects - I think that's another reason why my RE doesnt use them!? Suprefact is also an injection (or a nasal spray) and I dont remember any wierd side effects from it!? Just the BCP's - those were terrible.

I'm dying for my calendar - come on baby - lets see what you look like - let's make this a lil more real.

cagirl2003 - only 7 or 8 days stimming - how lucky you are. I was 13 day I think last time!? Boo for being on the meds longer. I think I counted a total of 53 needles in my belly last time - not including the blood draws and the acupuncture. ACK... and yet, I cant wait to start again!? Whats wrong with me? hehehe

Ok ladies, I’m back from a short hiatus…mostly it was due to frustration with my clinic. I should have had my schedule by the end of last week…but no such luck. Last Thursday they still didn’t have the results of all of my updated bloodwork…the nurse promised me she would check on it and call me Friday…hmm…no call Friday, so I left a message…then no call Monday, again another message. Today I was fed up and I called another nurse…one that doesn’t typically fulfill this function, but I was frustrated! She got the ball rolling and I finally got financial clearance, so I should get my schedule within the next day or two. They will start to cycle you anytime (during their window) once you have been on BCPs for two weeks…I’ve been on them for almost three weeks, so I want to have a bit of an idea of when they might ask me to start…it’s all about expectations management, and I would like to have mine managed with some information!!! Patience is not my strong suit...

Southhampton: I’m not certain where they are going to start me this time…last time I took 150 gonal in the morning and 75 in the evening…I’m expecting that I will go up to a total of at least 300-375 each day. I just wonder if they will up my menopur (75 per day) since that is supposed to help the eggs mature. Hopefully I will get some answers to my questions tomorrow. If not, I will go back to my annoying message leaving tactic!

Bella: I agree, we are all more than due for some lasting BFPs that result in a healthy pregnancy!

jdw: The whole regret aspect is why DH caved…he’s concerned that at some point I will resent him because we don’t have children and he was against further treatment. I don’t see that happening since I absolutely adore him (and we’ve been together for 13 years now)…but I need to try this…ok, who am I kidding, I need this thing to finally work!!!

2Lines: I hope you are having an awesome trip!

jp: I feel your pain…my last cycle they only got 10 eggs out of 18 follies (first was 21 out of the same number of follies)…of those 10, only 8 were mature and 4 fertilized…we had nothing to freeze and the embies were only a grade 3 (1-5 scale) at best…that was the same as round 1…round 2 was with different donor sperm than round 1…new theory, bad eggs. So this cycle the theory the docs are going with is if we can get her to produce more eggs, there has to be some that make better embies. I hope you get some good answers that aren’t like peering through mud tomorrow.

Cagirl - for meds I did not have many and had poor quality for IVF1 . It was a learning curve. The meds were just right for IVF2 and I had the best outcome( my son ). I had 2 to transfer and 2 to freeze. Then 3rd was the same but had a miscarriage and none to freeze. 4th time same protocol but was oversuppressed (go figure) and had poor quaity. Last time I did BCP no Lupron my meds were the same but with different doses. The quality was good but alas nothing. Now no BCP but lupron until supression check. Then gonal-f and that's it. I am getting so scared. I had a dream today of a little girl. She looked a lot like my son but had darker hair. Strange.I hope that was a sneek peek

My Dr also always said to me too that the first cycle is a learning process since I have never been on any hormone meds prior to my first ivf cycle. Hard to remember that part right now. My cycle went well other then the but still hoping that my Dr learned something from it that can be tweaked for next time. I was on a low dose of stims and I ended up being on stims for like 12-13 days. Initially I was only taking 150gonalf and the last few days it was increased to 185. What’s confusing is that I was told I had mature eggs and DH is also fine.
Bella-I am with you, I was on stims for like 12-13 days, didn’t think it was ever going to end! I hate the GonalF, my nurse had accidentally ordered me 300unit pens so were priming a pen every other night, it was sooo annoying! I would every time get all upset with DH that he is not doing right but I was way to nervous to do it myself.
For those of you who have done more then one IVF cycle, do you recommend taking a month off? Just looking for some feedback. And from the sound of it each cycle you produce different embryo quallity which is encouraging. My body feels ready to start another cycle thankfully other then a few lbs I didn’t notice any other symptoms from all the meds. Is here so I guess that’s good news. I just hope I don’t get any worse news tomorrow from my Dr….

We go tomorrow and get ultrasound, blood work and schedule of drugs. almost a year after laft year's miscarriage. what a year. tried to forget the pain that caused.
we are working toward the 14th for retrieval and 21st for transfer. This year we hope for a BIG FAT

Also, hope this time we have more eggs and that we can freeze some. Ido not want to go through this same procedure over and over from the start. God Williang this time we will just be pregnant.
Praying for a GOD BABY.

my advice is to do what makes you comfy. if i knew i could wait and not be mad or anxious...i would've. BUT i know me. it would've just made me angry.

that's why i hopped right back to it.

i also have MS and time isn't on my side. so unless the doc stops me...i'm pushing forward until i'm pregnant
