Sam-thats awsome that you are almost back in the game, i shouldnt be too far behind you. I am meeting with my RE next Wed and my is due to start around end of next week. So since surgery went well i think i will be able to start right away. Looking at an ER of end of Oct to early Nov. I am so scared to do another cycle but need to remember that maybe some of the stuff fixed is what was getting in the way of implantation. I know my RE plans on putting me on the same protocol but i wonder if different meds might give different embryo outcome...I had 2 7cell grade B to transfer my 1st cycle and 2nd cycle i had a 5 cell and a 6 cell which was compacting to an 8 cell both grade A. So not sure if I have even produced embryos that would grow and implant? I am only 27 and all tests are fine...

Does any one know if you have to start BCP's before starting an IVF cycle? just wondering if maybe not starting them would result in a better outcome.....

JP- Your embies sound great!! I am sure your procedure did the trick and you will be next time around. My RE told me that she used BCP because all the follies will grow around the same rate. There are protos with out BCP ask RE what she thinks. I do not take it anymore because it over suppresses me

So I wanted to share with everyone that my acupuncutrist said that cinnamon is great in improving egg quality and to drink cinnamon tea which is decafinated. I finally found some cinnamon apple spice tea and it tasted excellent so decided that I will give up my morning cup of coffee with 1 sugar for tea with honey and no sugar..

jp, not everyone has to e on BCP's. I did them the first IVF, but they made me terribly sick - so the 2nd time, I didnt have to do them - I just started doing Suprefact (same as Lupron for you guys hehe) on CD 22. The 2nd time I also had way more eggs collected - first time I had 10 at ER, the 2nd time I had ..oh pooh, I dont remember now LOL 15 or 16 I think!? hehe
Every clinic is different, some clinic you have to do BCP's no matter what...

cagirl: I'm so sorry for your loss. I hate the negative aspects of all of this. I wish you and DH the best of luck. Take the time that you need to grieve and regroup. We'll be here when you are ready.

jp: I hope that we can be cycle buddies for October...I'm not really sure if I want to join the October thread yet. Though I am always happy to hear about all the first timers that are fortunate to have the right protocol and the right response the first time out the gate, it depresses me that we've been through so much and cannot seem to get there. That and I don't want to jinx things while I wait for the Chief of the RE department to call me and confirm that I can do Luteal Lupron rather than MDL.

Bella and South: Thank you for the well wishes. I really feel good about where I am at right now. I know that it is most important to be at peace with your decision.

South: You, jp and I will have to find a trio of successes in October!

AFM: I am waiting to hear back from the Chief of the RE department to give me the go ahead for Luteal Lupron. I don't see why it should be a problem. They retested my TSH and prolactin and they came back normal. I have a pap scheduled for next week. It looks like everything is in order for the doc's ok and AF to show...hopefully she does not interfere with my pap since the next appointment they had wasn't until the middle of October. I'm sure we could work something out. I am also on the supplement bandwagon right now...I'm willing to do whatever it takes for those eggs to turn out beautiful!

Hi Ladies! I also do not plan on joining the Oct group for the same reasons...maybe a few 2nd, 3rd or 4th time IVFers will join our group in the mean time. I find that the more i read I find that it works for people first time, great embryo quality and all but I do think that those who need a few tries dont brag about it as much so you read less about it...

Are you ladies continuing with acupuncture? I plan on starting it up again took a few weeks off due to my surgery but plan on starting it again next week. My acupuncturist is really sweet and she seems so passionate about what she does, but she gets so into it which is great but sometimes she gets really worried with things going on with me so she actually worries me more at times.

Cagirl-please keep us posted on what your RE says

AFM: Well I found out that another friend is expecting her 2nd. I know her first was IVF but not sure about this one since she doesnt talk about it.
Not much going on here until my RE apt 1 week from tomorrow.

cagirl-sorry for your heart ache. I hope you and DH can have time together and regroup. Taking a break is sometimes a really good thing so I hope it serves you well.

JP-I have cinnamon plum tea but when I go grocery shopping this week, I'm definetly buying Cinnamon tea. I have a book called the Infertility Cure which is written by a chinese MD who helps women with infertility. It is okay reading, interesting thoughts but a little confusion to figure out what "type" of eastern diagnosis you have and some of the food recomendations for what I thought I might have would never be realistic in my diet. I'm just doing royal jelly pills. I'm glad surgery went well. I'm surprised they are letting you start so soon. I had to wait a month for my body to heal before they would proceed with stims.

AFM-all of my blood work for recurrent loss came back fine except they are still waiting for two tests. anticardiolipin and lupus antibodies (I think). I'm kinda bummed b/c I was really hoping they would find something that was causing this. So I'm resolved to the fact that it is just my eggs and it doesn't give me to much encouragement for the next cycle. They think they will have all tests back by friday so hopefully then I'll have a plan. I've been on bcp for almost 2 full weeks so I think they'll keepme on active pills so I can start lupron for a week but who knows.

so i just assumed that i can start right away after i get a period after the surgery. My Dr might want me to take a month off. When you had your lap they didnt do anything and you still had to take 1 month off? i want to say the last time I asked my RE he had said it depends on how everything goes. If i can start ahead I will be starting BCP next weekend so stims wont be for another month. I cant get over how easy the surgery was! Wish I didnt wait so long to have it done...

So far the cinnamon tea is my favorite, its actually really tasty, she had said that sprinking cinnamon on food is really good, maybe I will add that to my list of rituals. My acupuncturist had said that ginger, garlic and cinnamon are great for egg quality. I bough ginger tea and its spicy, so not what I was prepared for!!! I am going to have to try it cold. I havent been doing too good on the garlic thing but seriosuly how much garlic can one eat.

I was told to stay away from DHEA, Royal Jelly, soy and tea (to include herbal teas).

I'm taking the following:
- DHA: you can get this in Horizon milk with Omega-3 and DHA or you can find capsules near the prenatals at the store. Today I found Spectrum Prenatal DHA that was a good price and it is from a plant source rather than fish (DHA comes from fish or organ meat like liver)...since this one is not from fish, you don't have to worry about any of the toxins that can be found in fish (most other sources are "purified to remove mercury). I've been drinking the milk, but I don't really like milk so I needed to find another source.
-Omega-3...but now that I found the other source of DHA, I am planning on stopping this one since I don't like the fishy aftertaste...plus, that has the "purified to remove mercury" label too.
-Coq-10
-Resveratrol Plus by Country Life (this one also has pine bark extract in it, which is what they find Pycnogenol in and that is also supposed to be helpful)
-Vitamin B6; though I am considering taking B Complex instead so I get all the good stuff.

- Perfect Greens

All of this in addition to my regular prenatals. I look like a pill factory!

I'm thinking about taking L-Argenine as well, but I haven't decided on that one.

I'm going to continue warming my feet once I cycle since that is what has helped me in the past with my lining. Are you taking low dose aspirin? Aspirin gives me nose bleeds, but given how desperate I am for all of this to work, I am considering adding that to the list.

I'm so glad that we have a group of ladies that are going to do this together...again...I mean, I wish us all BFPs...I we all get them...but you will be an excellent support system for me when we go through this together again.

I have to admit that I have yet to try acupuncture...just yoga (which I plan on starting up again). To get to the closest place I know of to do fertility acupuncture I have to drive through crazy traffic to get there...I can't imagine that the added stress from parking in traffic wouldn't counteract the good of the acupuncture...then again, the acupuncture can properly direct blood flow to the right places, so I may be stupid not to go that route.

I hope this week goes by quickly for you and you get the answers that you need from the RE. If not, give 'em what for!

you girls are awesome just want you to know that. i, surprisingly, feel ok today. i think i'm just putting this one behind me, taking this needed break for my ovaries and our hearts...then we'll try, try again. it's what we do, right
