South - Does your RE want you to take an extra dose of the estrogen and progesterone just on day six or is it starting day six they up your dosage until your beta? Did anyone else take baby asprin after their ET? My RE recommends that as part of the protocol. I guess it helps prevent blood clots that you can pass to the fetus.

3rd - I'm sure if anyone can convince their clinic to let them select their own protocol it's you. I'll bet you've done as much research on it (if not more) than many of the people who work at your clinic. GL on getting answers from them next week.

cagirl - I hope we can cycle in November together. It sounds like there are enough of us to keep this thread going with Oct/Nov cycles.

Just one - I stayed on BCP extra during my last cycle in order to start after business trip that was already scheduled. It sounds like a good plan.

AFM - The clinic confirmed today that our donor has agreed to move forward and would be willing to do a cycle in November. They're sending her for the evaluation to make sure that she isn't a psychopath or anything. Then the next step is to get the timing of both our cycles worked out to figure out when we'll both need to start BCP in order to cycle in November. Of course for me, it will be a different protocol from doing the whole cycle myself. The donor will be injecting all of the stims and I'll just be on lupron until the ET. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

jdw: That is awesome that the donor is set!! How exciting!!! I hope everything turns out perfect with her evaluation. I haven’t taken baby aspirin, but I have read good things about it…I’m tempted to start using it…but I’m a little nervous to do so; when I was younger aspirin gave me nosebleeds…but the low dose aspirin might not…I know that the RE would be against it before ER, but after shouldn’t be a problem. I dunno, I’ll talk to them some about it and see. I’m tempted to try it for a few days before I cycle and see if I get nosebleeds so that I can let them know if I have the same reaction.

justone: 12 October will be here before you know it!

cagirl: do you have an idea of what your dates might look like? We’re going to have to start a new list here shortly!! I’m excited!

South: yeah for the consent forms!!

JOM: how are the job preparations going?

Mouse, Bella and Maggie: How are you ladies feeling?

AFM: The doctor finally called me this morning and he is ok with me doing Luteal Lupron…although he is hesitant. He said that though some researchers believe that the high estradiol impacts egg quality, he is not of that opinion…however, since I have been on such low dose stimulation, he knows that they can always increase my stims if I don’t respond as well. He was sure to tell me that he doesn’t believe changing the protocol will be the key that leads to success. I told him that it’s really the only thing we can change at this point (other than clinics), so it is what we want. So I’m in! We are going to cycle here pretty soon…I just won’t have my calendar until I pay the bill. I expect to hear from the financial folks before the week is out and then I should have my schedule by early next week at the latest! I already started my BCPs (day 2), so that should mean that the earliest I start is 12 days from now (they like us on BCPs for two weeks…although it seems like some clinics prefer more or less…everything with this process seems to depend on the clinic).

Hi guys!

I just thought I would check in and say hi. I need to catch up on everyone...those asking how things are going, thanks so much. I am really enjoying not working but I just don't know where the days go? I put my 4 (almost 5 now) year old on the school bus at 8:50 then head to the gym for a good 1.5 hr work out. The rest of my day goes to doing the errands I never have time for, working on the house since we are under construction and I am trying to keep the inside livable and picking out our new kitchen and such. I try to be home at 3:15 to meet Emma and then we play, do dinner, bed and bath. I feel like I don't really accomplish much but the gym is really helpful. I am still struggling to kick those last 5 pounds from my last cycle.

As far as out "project", we decided to take October off and not try our IUI until next month (although we are still trying on our own). I should see AF at the end of the first week of October, so I will be back in earnest then.

I miss you girls!!

MaggieMay, I am so glad you saw the membrane! I am sure that your intuition is right and everything is going to turn out fine.

CaGirl, thinking of you

JDW, I am so thrilled that you found a donor. I am sure that the psych stuff will go just fine.

Shawna, how are things going?

Samantha and JustOne, fingers crossed for both of you!

Mouse, how are you feeling?

Hi Ladies! Just wanted to check in and say Hello. We moved into our new house this weekend so i have just been trying to get settled in. The house is way to big just just DH and I so that we will have a kid in the near future. Other then that nothing new here, I have my follow up with my RE tomorrow and will know what I will be doing and when.
Hope all is well!

the appointment actually went really well. he spent over an hour with us. i'm staying with him.

sadly, i have a really annoying problem...egg quality. and there's nothing you can do about it. i even asked about all the supplements, etc.

the only thing he brought up today that he said he's never considered for me cause i'm tiny is that i could have high insulin and that directly affects egg quality. since my dad has diabetes he said i could have it underlying and i just "fight it off" cause i'm fit. so he is sending me for an insulin/glucose blood test. you take blood, drink a sugar drink, sit there for 2 hours, and repeat blood test. he said there is a medicine used in ivf to help that so if that's actually a problem he said it could be one possible solution.

i'm taking 2 months off. we're switching back to ganirelix (short protocol) since i did better on that, no birth control, assisted hatching, no ICSI, and we may add in this insulin problem med IF it's an issue.

for now...i just want to enjoy the next 2 months and exercise and get back into feeling like me.

hi all,

3rd time what exactly is luteal lupron protocol? My RE has said nothing about baby asprin and all my blood work came back good but my mom who is a nurse said it won't hurt so I think I'm going to take it. I'm pysched that it looks like a bunch of us will be stimming at the same time so that will be good. we'll get our at the same time.
cagirl-glad your appojintment went well. I hear you with the eggs. such a crappy "diagnosis" that seems to be my "diagnosis" as well.

I found out today that the MD will increase my bravelle as well for this cycle. Only by like 75 though....just means more money for meds ughhhh

Hi Ladies! Hope all is well.
Cagirl-glad to hear that your apointment went well and you were able to get some answers. How do they know that it was an egg quality issue, is it due to your FSH?
AFM: Well I am back in the game just waiting for to arrive? Not sure if she will be late beacouse of my LAP or not....DH and I meet with my RE for quite some time this afternoon. It went well, the frustrating part is that even after the surgery he doesnt think that there is anything wrong. My tubes might be an issue in order to conceive naturally or they may not be but right now they shouldnt affect IVF. Before he had thought that I may have fluid coming out of them but it was a cyst that was removed during my LAP and all else looked good. He said I could try an IUI but insurance may recommend doing 3 before going to IVF, he strongly prefers IVF and feels that I have a better chance with IVF. At this point he feels that its all about tweaking my cycle to get it perfect.
Anyone else just waiting on to arrive???

Maggie, 2lines and Mouse - I hope you are all feeling and doing well.

AFM- I have been testing since Saturday on OPK not + yet if I do not get one in the am I will be heading in for blood work. This will be the 2nd month I am way off. It always happens when you want to start a cycle

Sam-what are you testing for? arent you still on BCP? i am confused but it must be with the protocol that you are doing. I am stuck with the BCP, lupron then stims protocol which feels like it takes forever to do

Hi JP- I am on the EPP Estrogen Priming Protocol. All places do them slightly different. No BCP or Lupron once I get a positive on ovulation pred kit I believe 10 days later I start taking estrace(estrogen pills) wait for AF then I will begin stims on day 2. I am new to this one. So do you do 2 or 3 weeks of pills?

Thats really interesting, i have never heard of that protocol. I assumed that all IVF cycles take like 2 months. Its your 1st time on it? i do the BCP 3 weeks, start lupron 2 weeks after BCP then stims once i am surpressed. Just wish that it was shorter!

JP - the waiting sucks!! Yes this is the protocol used to help improve egg quality. So that it works. I had the best embroys with your protocol until I was oversupressed by it. So you are looking at begining of November for transfer?

cagirl: unfortunately, welcome to the bad egg crew. In all honesty, I think that it is a cop out to say that egg quality is the problem…what it really means is that they don’t know what the problem is. I mean, it seems to me that it’s kinda like going to the doctor and having knee pain…when they don’t know what could be causing it, they say tendonitis…when there is inflammation, we’ll just throw some vitamin M (aka Motrin) at the problem. I hope they are able to work something out to improve your quality.

justone: Luteal Lupron is also known as Long Lupron. It should be the protocol where you take Lupron for about 10 days before you start stims…you heard that right, I volunteered for more shots! I’ve really heard some pretty good things about low dose aspirin…and I figure that so many people take it to improve circulatory problems that it can’t be bad. I think that I might start taking it after egg retrieval since the full strength stuff gives me nose bleeds (or at least it did as a teenager).

jp: The good news is that they figured out that your tubes are good and they won’t harm the embie. I’m with you that hearing everything is great sucks…sometimes I wish that they could point their fingers at something to say why this just doesn’t seem to work.

South: Yes, this will be our time!
