Brooklyn: how long did you stimm b4 retrieval? i have had two canceled cycles and both were canceled after about 10 days maybe 12 days of stimms. i think if i could've stimmed longer i may have made it to retrieval. i think the clinic didn't want me in their stats. they immediately recommended donor eggs.

anyone else stim longer than 12 days?

i'm thinking of trying again with another clinic. they will do the epp protocol. i'm 38 1/2 so time is of the essence.

Some clinics cancel cycles if the stim goes too long because they think it indicates bad eggs. Long stim is associated with reduced chance of success, but it may not be the eggs at all. More likely it's the endometrium that tends to be ruined by longer stim.

In response to the how long did you stim question....One lady on here told me she was on stims for 18 days (I think) and ended up pregnant. So I know some people just take a while to get going.

Good luck!

RE says my AFC and my e2 are normal so that's at least good news! I've got an email into SIRM with some questions so we'll see what they say. Starting BCPs tonight!

Thanks for all the info here.

I am also a poor responder, I was on the highest doses of meds and only got 3 eggs, and only 2 were mature.

What is EPP? I was on microdose lupron and it didn't work well for me. I am trying to look at options for my next cycle. Since I am using a gestational carrier it doesn't matter if it takes me a long time to get to ER because my lining doesn't matter.

Hello!
I have heard that EPP is the way to go also if you are advanced in age. What is medicine is prescribed for estrogen priming? Is it in BC pill? i am taking Cryselle 28 is this considered estrogen priming? I am not a poor responder I just have the age factor (I was 41 last month, antral follicle count on day 3 was 7 and FSH is 8.5)
Thanks in advance for your help!
