[Hi, anyone doing ICSI with just 1 ovary?? I just started with GOnalF 150/Menopur 75, today is day 5, and i went in for my bw and ultrasound, i have 4 follies, measuring, 6.6, 7.6, 8.2, 6.7.....i am little nervous to have just 4 follies, but is this a good size for day 4 for stims??

me-28 yrs old, have 1 left ovary, right one got removed due to severe endo!
dh-33 yrs old -perfectly fine!!
been married 4yrs and 10months!!
ttc since June 2006
Oct 2008-#1 IUI negative
December 2008-#2 IUI negative
January 2009- #3 IUI POsitive, but MC at 5 1/2 weeks
April 2009- #4IUI negative
June 2009 moved onto IVF----finally ready to go October 2009!!!

Heemal- We did IVF/ICSI with one ovary in September. During monitoring, I had 2 lead follicles with 2 smallers in the background. They ended up retrieving 3 eggs, although one was immature. They did ICSI on all 3, and all 3 fertilized. We ended up transferring the best 2 on day 3, the 3rd immature one did not make it to blast. We found out last week that it's a bfp! So, try not to worry too much about the numbers ( I know easier said than done!) It's the quality that counts in the end.

Thanks Diana, It definitely gives me more hope! I go in tomorrow for my E2 again, and ultrasound! my E2 was 187 yesterday morning after 4 days of being on stims! and my follies were 6.6, 6.7, 7.6, 8.2....so hoping i have more tomorrow morning, or....the ones i have are grown to a good size!! do u know if these sizes are good for day 4 of stims?? You have your ultrasound tomorrow right?

I did not have my first bloodwork/ultrasound done until after 6 days of stims, so I'm not sure exactly what would be good sizes at that point. After 6 days, my 2 good follies were 16 & 17. Stimmed again that night, the next morning they were both at 18 with the immature one at 13. They had me do one more night of stims (very low dose) to try and catch up the little one, and then triggered the following night. I think I read at one point that they grow around 2mm each day.

I do have my first u/s tomorrow morning! I"m so excited and nervous to see how many are in there!

Hi Diana, did u get your ultrasound done? hoping u have twins!!

I had my ultrasound this morning, i now have 6 follies, all meaasuring between 9.5-10.5, and e2 is 502....hoping all this is on the right track.......the RE said things are ok, not great, but we only need 2 good embies.....so.....dont know what to think....will keep u updated!!

First u/s went wonderful...IT'S TWINS!

We saw two gestational sacs, both with yolk sacs today. Absolutely amazing!

Sounds like you are progressing, so that's good news. I know some people stim for longer than others, so it might be just taking a little longer to get that ovary going. Having 6 measurable now is wonderful! I think it's good they're all about the same size too, hopefully the whole batch will be ready at the same time for a great retrieval!

When do you go for another u/s??

omg congrats!!!!!! this is so exciting!!!!!!! TWINS!

well my ultrasound was this morning, have 6 follies, 12, 11, 10.5, 9.5, 8.5, 8......so RE is thinking 4 will be mature to fertilize, but u never know!! but u give me so much hope with the # of follies u had.....i am in the same boat!! ER will probably be next wednesday, and ET that MOnday....getting so close!

Sounds like things are progressing right along! The smaller two are not much behind the others, so hopefully they'll catch up!
Do you go back for another u/s Monday? Hopefully you'll be triggering that evening!

So it looks like you're doing a day 5 transfer? My RE recommended a day 3 transfer with my low amount of follicles, but left it up to us. I just struggled with the idea of none of them making it to day 5, so opted to go ahead and put them in. On day 3 we only had 2 left that were looking good so it made the decision a bit easier. I guess it worked out okay! I'm not sure that it really matters though, if they were meant to make it, then they'll make it either way I suppose!

I am very glad that I found this thread..I too am in the one ovary w/IVF boat. I don't start IVF
until the beginning of next year..We will see what happens,

Diana how are you ddoing? I am doing well, i had my ER today, we got 9 follies, 1 was too mature to use, 2 were a little smaller, and the other 6 looked good to fertilize, they will ICSI all of them though! i will hear from the RE tomorrow morning, praying all goes well! grow follies grow!!!

Just wanted to add some positive thoughts to this thread. I went in to my IVF with two ovaries but, the left did a disappearing act and couldn't be found after I started stims. It didn't return until after the retrieval. They were able to get 3 eggs, 2 fertilized, 1 looked good and I have a healthy six month old son.
Keep the faith. It works even with just one ovary.

hi Diana, sorry i haven't written in a while, just been so occupied with everything......well i had my ET yesterday....we transferred 2 blastocycsts......and none of the others made it to freezing......so....kind of bumbed out about that.......Hope u are doing well! how are the twins doing? Do you have a lot of symptoms?? Oh yea, did you do a HPT before your beta?? if you did, when did u test?

Hi! Congrats on the embryo transfer! Don't worry about none making it to freeze, the best 2 are inside snuggling in right now! When is your beta?

I'm doing good...unfortunately the nausea has really taken hold this week. It's an all day kinda thing for me, so by the evenings I've been pretty wiped out. I don't think I've stayed up past 9 all week!

I did not test prior to beta, I was too much of a chicken! Are you planning to?? I know the wait is torture! Any symptoms going on with you? I had some pretty distinct pinches a couple days after transfer and a couple days later I started getting heartburn in the evenings.

Hi Diana, yea iam planning on testing....not sure when to do it! Today is 3dp5dt, i was thinking i will try sunday.....but that maybe too early......
I have been having very light cramping since last night, into this moring, with very little spotting....so not sure...i decided to stay home today and tomorrow for this reason...so instead of 3 day of resting, i am doing like a whole week!
I really dont have any symptoms yet.....besides the spotting and cramping....praying its implantation!! How many days past transfer did u start having symptoms? i know you said heartburn.....was that right away? I hope your morning sickness gets better soon!
