Haven't been in here for a while, but am so excited to see all the BFPs and am really sorry to hear about the m/c. It's such a heartbreaking thing to go through, please know that each one of you is in my thoughts.

AFM - Just now met with the RE to discuss failed round #2 and it was a shocker. He suggested using DS next round, to see if that's the cause of our lackluster embabies. Well, he wants to do half DS and half my DHS to compare. Crazy, right? I'm still trying to decide if we would even consider DS, it makes me sad, because my husband is just so adorable, and tall and smart, etc. It's these moments that really challenge me, but I am lucky in so many other ways, so I try to focus on that (while also feeling sorry for myself a little bit).

hopeful2bpg - im so sorry for your loss but glad that you have two more tries. enjoy your pony, and maybe some hot tubbing and wine in the mean time. take these next 3 months to take care of you! you will get your soon!

dragonflygirl - what a rollercoaster this journey is for all of us. and it's great news that your insurance is covering at least some of this. (and you're right, 25k is not a lot ... we spent more than that on one IVF!) have a couple drinks, try to relax, and take care of yourself over the next few weeks. wishing you the best of luck!

fun holiday - i'm so sorry about your BFN but am glad to hear that you have 4 totsicles waiting for you!! enjoy some wine, hottubbin and lovin while you relax in preparation for your BFP in december!!

machu - you should come join us on the july due date board...it's getting pretty busy over there! how are the suppositories? my golf balls are getting worse so am considering it. also, DH is going to be out of town tuesday through sunday so i'll need to go into the office every day to get the shot. let me know how you're liking them ... well not liking them, but if they're better than the shots!!

ahrev - i think you picked a good time to move. you could just sit back and direct traffic!

sculli - how sad about your best friend. i'm so sorry for both of you ... very scary! and how sweet that she wanted to will her baby to you. she is obviously a very dear friend to you and am sure she'll get pregnant again soon. my best friend got pg on her first try about two years ago and felt guilty bc she knew how much trouble we'd been having. the day after i heard the heartbeat, she went and got her iud out so they could try for baby number 2. she won't admin it, but i think the timing is a little more than a coincidence. we are blessed to have good friends aren't we?!?! two more days to your u/s!!!

ahrev - thanks for sharing the tidbit about once you see the heartbeat, the rest of complications drop to below 5%. i hope that's true ... that's a huge relief!

ivfinmd - that is such a difficult decision. for me, i don't think i would want to use DS but if you're comfortable with it, go for it. did you guys use ICSI this time? my RE always uses it unless there is proof that DH's sperm has achieved a pregnancy (and still uses it sometimes even if that's the case.) not sure if it would matter, but may be worth asking.

Ivfinmd - your decision is really tough! I agree with LizzyM to do ICSI with DH's sperm if you haven't already. I decided before we began IVF that I wanted to have the mindset that it was just as important to LEARN what was preventing our conceiving as it was to conceive. That made me feel better when we had no totsicles to freeze. Hope that helps as you consider your doctor's option for learning - you've got lots of strength and courage, whatever you decide!

LizzyM - what's the title of the July due date Thread you're on? I'll join you! The Endometrin is MUCH better than those golf ball shots - my bum is thanking me. You'll need a pantyliner 24/7 cause it oozes a little. I'm spotting some pink/brown, which my nurse said can happen with inserting the suppositories and the tender surface of the vaginal skin (might scrape a little)... sorry if that's TMI! The only precaution I heard was to call immediately if you cramp badly or bleed more than a little. I encourage you to ask about it (and save yourself the daily drive!) Let me know what you find out.

AFM - my husband and I met with the Dr. Friday to get his advice on a trip our whole family has had planned for 2 years. He gave me lots of stats and precautions to take, but essentially a green light. So, I'm going in this Thursday for an early u/s so they can try to rule out an ectopic. There's no reason I'd have one, but I'll feel better traveling having ruled it out!

We have TWO!

We saw 2 little hearbeats, both at 150/minute and apparently I was already supposed to have made an appointment with my OB/GYN (which I haven't!).

I'm still shocked!

Sculli -Congrats on the twins, that's so exciting!!

AFM - We have done ICSI, mainly due to the fact that my DH has very low sperm count. Since this is our last try, our RE is pulling out all the stops and for that, I am grateful. This IS a learning experience. Just a week ago I had no idea that sperm quality could effect the embabie quality. Considering that we will be moving on to adoption if the next round of IVF fails, using DS doesn't bother us as much as it might.

July 1st, but I saw my OB this week and she said our goal will be to get to 36-38 weeks. So I assume early to mid-June for an actual delivery date? What does that mean when people ask me my due date? Do I stick with July 1st? I've been wondering that

Have you seen your OB yet? Get any interesting news? My first appt was just a lot of conversation - no exam or u/s. She said the key to not having premees is to eat, eat and eat again all through the second and third trimesters. She said as long as I keep gaining weight I should be able to not have premees in the NICU. I don't have another ultrasound until December 15th, so I am going to assume everything is still perfect until then (unless I have reason to worry).

Now.. if the next 4 weeks would just go by a little quicker (man it's one wait after another, isn't it??)

Elisa: Have you made any decisions yet? I know it must be hard but personally I would be open to donor sperm. My DH and I talked about it and we decided that if I had bum eggs or he couldn't fertilize even with ICSI that we'd be OK with donating. I know it's not so simple, but at the end of the day, all we want is a family and we were trying to keep our eyes on the end goal rather than how we got there. Anyway, good luck with your decision, I know it isn't an easy one.

Dragonfly girl: Any news on another try?

Funholiday: Good luck with your ET, that's right around the corner! What meds/protocol do you have to do for a FET? Fingers crossed for you!

AFM: I haven't posted in a long time, though I have been following you all and checking in every day. Things are good so far but we are taking it day by day. I have been considering attending RESOLVE meetings (the infertility association, they have a new meeting 5 minutes from my house) but I feel that I may not be welcome there. So I'm considering donating or volunteering instead. Even though I am finally pregnant, I still feel much of the same anger and sadness at what we have all had to go through in this attempt to build a family. Anyway, every one of you on this board are in my thoughts. For those of you that didn't have successful cycles, my heart aches for you and I am so proud of your resilience and ability to pick yourselves up and try again. For those of you who have succeeded but then miscarried, I have teared up as I read your stories and again am amazed at your strength and determination. And for you gals that are now expecting, I share in your joy.
