Hi girls, if all goes as planned I should be joining your October group. I have my consult on 8/31 when I'll get my dates for sure, but we should be on schedule. I will have blood work and start on BCP tomorrow.

This is our 3rd cycle, we had one canceled in March 2008, then a failed cycle in June 2008, and this will most likely be our last attempt (although I've seen other people say that and then keep trying, so who knows).

I went to this Chinese herb lady a few months ago and she gave me a bunch of herbs but I never could make myself take them faithfully because there were just so many of them (10 pills twice a day). So what benefit I might have been able to get from that I never did. I am still considering acupuncture, but do you think it's too late to start it if we're doing an October cycle? I've also read about it and have seen some people say you are supposed to do it 20 minutes before the transfer. That seems a quite unlikely to me unless your acupuncturist is associated with the clinic you're going to. I don't think ours has anything like that.

Anyway, here's hoping for for all of us!

Hi Ladies.

newroad: I had good luck with freedomdrug pharmacy. I have a list from my RE's office, but it is at home. I'll post it tonight for you (about 4-5 online places to order your meds from). One was "schrafts". I also heard good things about IVFmeds. They are from UK, but my RE office also suggested I do not order from them as they are not FDA approved. They are a lot cheaper and you need to order them a head of your stims start date, but my RE doesn't want me to inject something into me that isn't FDA approved. A lot of ladies on this forum have used it and recommended it, so it is up to you if you are willing to order from them.
It's awesome we are on the same schedule. YAY!!

gypsy & savannah: If might be starting later than most of the ladies on this thread, but we would still welcome you here!

mysillyoldbear: I know what you mean! I am kind of moody too! I am actually quite sleepy. Maybe it's the weather we've been having (all the rain), but I am kind of grumpy and have a headache. Maybe it is BCP side effect. Ohh well. Hang in there!

hopeful10 &kelb: hang in there. I hope you get your AF soon so you can start the cycle!

mrsridge: Glad you started your BCP! I take mine at night so I can avoid most of the side effects. It's been working great so far, but I only started them on Sunday. So I am just 2 days ahead of you on BCPs. We are close!

Well ladies, glad to hear everyone is doing ok and we are moving along with appointments, trial transfers and BCPs. Woo-Hoo! A few more weeks and then we get to start on stims! Waa-Hoo!

Have a wonderful day gals!

Hugs,

Sculli! Don't forget to add your dates to the calendar when you get them!

newroad- We have to do ICSI because of morphogoy issues. My DH is taking it pretty hard.... last night he asked if I thought any less of him and if I still wanted to have his children. So I spent some time putting him at ease. But wow... I wasn't prepared for his reaction!

As for BCP... I don't start mine until the 31st, but they told me to take them at night. I didn't ask why.... I just do what I am told!

So what is everyone doing to prepare for pregnancy? Since we will all be pregnant very, very, VERY soon! We have talked about preparing a nursery, but I have been hesitant to actually do that yet. We have to re-arrange furniture and rooms... big job! I am thinking of starting to work on that. Trying to stay positive and prepare for when I am pregnant, but there is the little voice in the back of my mind that keeps whispering "what if". Shush! Anyway, what is everyone else doing or planning on doing? I talked to someone who has all their baby clothes until age 5 for boy or girl, and a fully furnished room!

Since we are ttc for number two i have all of my big baby items. I made sure to get everything gender neutral so it could be used over and over.

We wont do a whole lot until we know if baby #2 is on their way. once we know then we have to switch rooms, repaint, and buy a bed for DS.

We plan on adopting through foster care if im not pregnant and then we'll have to buy 2 twin beds, girl clothing, more toys..but again thats almost a year away.

Well I received a call back from the nurse and husbands blood work came back perfectly fine. I will call tomorrow morning to schedule my Sonohysterogram.

Nicole, we also are going to do ICSI. DH has also taken it hard, just as yours has. I keep trying to reassure him that one way or another, we will have a baby. I think most men take it hard. We actually knew before we got married that we wouldn't be able to have kids the natural way since he had his spinal surgery when he was 23. He had 2 lower discs removed and then had titanium rods, screws, etc. put in. The surgery caused some nerve damage since they went in through his back as well as through his belly, which is why we are doing IVF. When he says it is his fault and he feels bad, I tell him even if we had known ahead of time the surgery would cause what it did, I would have still told him to go through with it because I know how much pain he was in. I struggle sometimes finding the right words for him because he takes it so hard, but I try my best to be supportive and reassure him that I would never blame him, ever. I tell him that I didn't marry him for his swimmers, I married him for him I also tell him that even if the surgery hadn't happened, we still might be at the same point as we are today, nothing is ever guaranteed.

As for preparing, I think we are going to wait for the . I am telling myself everyday that it will work, but a little part of me still says, but what if? I try to shut that voice up Although I really cannot wait until that day comes to get the room set up. It is going to be so much fun.

For while I was being negative and saying "what if" a lot more than I do now. Well my DH would always tell me I have to be positive and that he knows it will work. One day we were in a mall and I saw some cute baby clothes. I told him I can't wait to be able to shop for them someday. He then says, "Don't get your hopes up". I don't get it lol. One minute he tells me to not be negative and the next tells me not to get my hopes up. Which is it??? We have now done a complete reversal. I am the positive one and he is being negative. He says he just doesn't want to see me hurt anymore and is afraid if I get my hopes up too much, I will be crushed. I don't care, I have to be positive at this point since I believe attitude can be huge!

's for all!

busybee33! Go to the site and enter your dates if you have them. It's cool so we can track everyone's progress! yay.
octoberivf: August 2009

As far as preparing, our main "preparing" was physical and mental. We both took a year off and just enjoyed each other. It was awesome. My DH was in school (and worked too) so that was stressful so we waited until he finished his school so we can focus on IVF next. We are not preparing any rooms nor purchasing any baby stuff. I figured, we will, once we know for sure. We'll end up moving our office as it is the best spare room which we would use for the baby. It needs new paint, but I can mask it and DH can paint it. I figured, I will need plenty of distraction once we are pregnant before the delivery so I can do shopping and decorating then.

I am also starting acupuncture. I've heard lot of good things about it and figured, it can't hurt. My RE said that it can only help, but he doesn't want me taking any herbs, etc. So, I am going to have acupuncture with a gal who specializes with IF. My friend went to her and was pregnant on her first IVF try! I don't know if it was related or not, but it is worth it, I think! (she says it helped and if nothing else, it helped her relax and enjoy the sessions) I go in tomorrow for my first acupuncture session. I've never been there so I am a bit nervous!

Any of you doing acupuncture or thinking about it?

Hugs,

newroad: My clinic uses Alexander Wtin pharmacy in trenton NJ.... I know they do free overnight shipping. I know as far as US pharmacys that they are pretty cheap.

busybee33!

Nicole: As far as preparing.... we are gonna wait until we get our BFP before we actually buy anything. Doesn't mean I haven't looked! Babys R Us and baby Depot are my friend - I look online helps pass the day away lol We will have to clear out my office/ DH's music room once we do get the BFP. There is a ton of stuff in there and I have only figured out alternate locations for about half of it so... who knows lol

I am excited that our group is growing!! Seems like everyone is getting started! (YAY for that even if it is just BCP's or final testing)

AFM - I put my day 3 u/s and b/w on the calendar along with my SHG. DH's SA is going to be done same day as my 3day b/w. My nurse told me that I will have my lupron start date and tentative others at my SHG appointment! YAY! So excited.

I did acupunture with all of my IVFs. I am not pregnant nor a mother yet but I recommend it! The lady I went to is a chinese gynecologist and she has "predicted" everything in advance. She told when I was overstimmed, she told me when I was pregnant that she feels my pregnancy through my pulse but it doesn't feel strong enough. I was mad at her at that time but now I just trust her so much. I am definitelly going back. I didn't start it weeks or months before IVF because it is $60/hour and she wanted me to go twice a week. She said it helps the follicles to get stronger during stim.

Thank you all for the wonderful welcome!!

KelB, We have both been through soooooo much I am praying that we can both get our BFP from this cycle, and go through the next 9 months together!! Who knows maybe once we get our calendars we might be close in dates.

newroad, So glad that you like your new clinic, I hope that we love ours just as much as you do.

MrsRidge, YAY!! For starting BCP

Sculli, & Best of luck at your consult

Nicole, Good luck with the room. As for us we won't be doing anything until we get our BFP & make it to second trimester. I learned the hard way when I got my last BFP I started buying things and we told alot of our family and firends, only to turn around and have to tell everyone that we had a loss. Then to have to look at what I had bought was just horrible. So we will be waiting until we kinow for sure.

busybee,

Genevieve, YAY on the arrival of AF!!

Sorry if I missed anyone

AFM, Just waiting for the next 2 weeks to go by so we can go for our consult with the new re. I got my medical records today, WOW there is alot there. I sat down and read through all of it. I am so glad we are swiching clinics. The very first thing that I told them when we started this process was that my little brother has CF and I am a carrier. Wouldn't you know it page 8 of my records says that neither dh or I have family history or are carriers of CF. How could they mess that up!!!!!! There were so many other mistakes it is not funny I don't even want to send them to my new re.
I have a question for all of you is it possible to become pregnant 10 years after a tubal ligation? Dh and I bd right before my cycle was cancelled the night before they said I ovulated. Well any how I feel strange I have been crampy ever since I stopped my meds, I have heartburn like crazy & never get it normally. My (.)(.) are sore and I am eating like a crazy lady. DD actually yelled at me last night she said mom what the heck you won't stop eating. Oh and I can smell everything. AF is not due to show up until saturday so I guess I will just wait and see. It is probably all in my mind but wouldn't it be nice!!!!!!!!!!!

Please God let this be our time!

It's in God's Hands I just need to leave it there!

He will never give me more than I can handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much!

Don't worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God whay you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Philippians 4:6

When you go throught deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. Isaih 43:2

God- Grant me the serenity to change the things I can, accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference.
