I also will be doing my ER and ET the week of 8/24!

I started stims on Saturday. I've had a heck of a time with Lupron (sooo tired and achey), and I ended up getting my period Fri/Saturday and it's been horrible.

But I read other postings that it's not unsual for that to happen.

I have another dr appt tomorrow for my second US/BW. Hopefully things will be good!

Hi! Looks like we are all in sync. I started shooting up this past Sat 8/15.

150 Menopur in the AM
5 Units Lupron in the AM (was on 20 Units for Suppression)
200 Follistim in the PM
1500MG Metformin PM

I had BW & US today
Right side: 3 follies 10-13
Left side: 8 follies 10-14
Lining is at 6
Didn't get my E2 yet I'll find out when I go back on Wednesday.

This is IVF #2 for me and so far a tremendous improvement. Last time I only had 6 follies at ER and only got 5 eggs. I was a slow responder and they almost cancelled my cycle after the first US since nothing was really growing. Looks like the increas in dosages really helped. Of the 5 eggs I had last time only 1 fertilized. The dr put me on Metformin to hopefully improve the quality. I'm also taking Royal Jelly.

At my baseline on Friday the dr saw a small cyst on the left, it got a little bigger but the dr said as long as it doesn't grow too big it should be fine. I will feel a lot better if I go back on Wednesday and it has shrunk.

So if things continue as they are I'm figuring ER will be Mom 8/24 and ET Thurs 8/27. I was really hoping for Tues/Wed ER & Fri/Sat ET but beggers can't be choosers I guess!

RNINLA, thanks for starting this thread. It was getting a little crowded over in the August IVF forum, which made it hard to keep track of everyone. I'm still watching to see their progress though! I didn't have enough time to read all the posts before, but now I'm hooked on checking every few hours to see what's new!

Like you said, we're practically on the same schedule! I'm on stims all this week and ER/ET is scheduled for week of 8/24! Got bw/us tomorrow, Thurs & Friday. I'm on Follistim & Menopur 75. Just decreased my Follistim to 150 from 225 this morning and recently decreased to Lupron 5. I'm not getting any overly bothersome side-effects from the meds...not that I'm complaining, but just hope the follies are growing as they should. We'll see tomorrow.

Anyone still drinking coffee? My DH told me that it was a "Don't" in the IVF manual, but I don't take espresso shots or anything. A tall, non-fat caramel machiatto a day should be harmless right??? Also, anyone have male factor probs? That's kind of my main worry right now.

SweetprincessLauren- I started stims on 8/14. Let's kick your cyst to the curb!

Trtlvr- This is my first IVF too! I couldn't pinpoint my headaches to any one medication, but they weren't bad enough to bother me that much either. I was waiting and waiting for AF to come so it would insure that my lining was thinning and when it finally came on Thurs, my Dr. said I coud start stims, but my schedule is pushed back a day. GL with us/bw tomorrow!

nzsc- I read in the other forums that ER is not that bad. Just remember, it just means you're that much closer to !

For my egg retrival I was asleep from the anesthesia but from what I hear not all offices use the same level of anesthesia. Afterward I had some discomfort not even as bad as with . I did have some pretty terrible pain in my back and shoulders . It hurt pretty bad and I'm still not really sure what it was from but apparently its not that common (no one else in my group had that).

How are you doing on the stims Natasha?

Hello Everyone,

I am Melanie and I will start my stimulating shots tomorrow. This is our first and only IVF. Am nervous, excited and anxious. Had an ultrasound today and they said that the eggs looked good, hoping for retrieval Aug 28th. Love to read about everyone's activities and will keep in touch if for nothing more than support from those going through the same thing. I wish all well. And will keep you all posted on my events.

What a cool user name! I am doing as well as I can be on the stim. med. My dosage is pretty high.

1) I started with 10 units of Lupron and after two weeks was dropped to 5 units. 2) I started at 300 with Follistim Pen, but after five days, was boosted up to 375 on that one. 3) I started with 2 Amps (two little power viles) of Menopur, but after about five days, was raised to three Amps.

I am crampy in the pelvic area, my breats are tender, and I feel fatigued. The main thing is the cramps. Over the last few days, it hurt the pelvic area to walk, I think b/c of the vibration involved with walking. I am bloated and fill full.

I was told to not work out, other then gentle walking or other activites that are gentle. That has been driving me a little crazy, b/c I am use to working out. I have allergies and hay fever, and was told to not take any medication for that. So I have been staying at home in the air cond. mostly, so I won't have as much as a reaction to the weather with my hay fever.

Egg retrival should be Thurs or Fri of this week. I find out for sure later today. Toward the end of the stim. medication, I have been going in for bw and u/s daily. I feel drained from all of the blood that they are taking.

Other then all of that, I feel fine. I just hope they get enough good eggs with retrival. I am on the older side, 39, so I feel like this is my last chance for TTC. I don't think that I can handle another ivf cycle if this does not work.

Hello...just checking in. Had my bw/us this morning and they measured 14 & 7 follicles, all about 10-11mm. E2= 611. Next bw/us is Friday & Sunday. Looks like they may be able to schedule DH's mTESE Monday 8/24 and my ER Tuesday. Everything is going well on my end, but now I'm just so worried about results from the mTESE. If they find nothing, I will have to cancel cycle...sigh....

Anyone else have follie results?

Hi Everyone: Just need to vent right now...just got back from my UTZ after 4 days of stim. I have 2 follicles ( 9 and 12) and a bunch of smaller ones. They will most likely convert me to IUI AGAIN!!!! I already failed Lupron and Gonal-f. Now I will have failed Menopur and Gonal-f. It is so frustrating and disappointing. All the emotions, scheduling our life around this, not to mention the expense (all out of pocket for us). I trust my Doc but am having a very hard time with the patience required for all of this.

Lauren, Natasha, & Hope1234: GROW THOSE FOLLIES!!!! your way. Keep us posted on the ER and ET.

Melanie: Praying that your IVF cycles goes smoothly.

Okay - I feel a tad bit better now that I have vented and cried too!

Hello Ladies,

I started my stims on 8/15 too... I started Gonal F 225 units. Went in for BW on 8/18 and was instructed to lower my dose to 187.5 units and to begin Repronix. I have BW/US on 8/20 and will go from there. I have no idea what my levels are ect. The nurse just calls with instructions and I follow. I kinda like it this way. They less I know the better…… I have no idea when i'll have my ER or ET. After reading all the posts on this webcite, i'm assuming it will be sooner than i thought.

Hi Everyone,
My ER day is tomorrow (8-20). I had bw and u/s yesterday, and on the u/s I had eight large follicles, measuring 18 and above. I also had many smaller ones. Some of the smaller ones may be large enough by tomorrow for ER.

When I started this ivf cycle, I asked the RE how many eggs he would expect to retrieve from me. He said that based on my age and health history about ten. it seems like so much for ten. And of the ten, there may not be "good" ones. One of my friends went through ivf two years ago. They took twenty eggs from her and only two of the twenty were good after insemination. So I am prayer/hoping/wishing that I will have some "good" ones tomorrow.

RNINLA- I don't know much about IUIs since I went straight to IVF, but I hope you don't get discouraged. Maybe the smaller ones will grow to catch up?

NZSC- 8 follies vs. 10 (expected)...that's close! They are good size, so hopefully they'll be able to retrieve all of them!!! GL tomorrow!!!

143Hope143- They're probably monitoring you so you dont overstimulate. You'll find out your levels after each bw. They'll prob tell you how the follies are growing too! It's exciting stuff!

Mel- How are you doing with the stims?

Lauren & trtlvr- How was bw/us? E2 levels?? Follie count?

Hello All,

I have started my stim shots and they are going pretty good. My hubby gives the shots as I just can't. He has only bruised me once. LOL I am starting to catch on to some of the abbreviations so hopefully I can type them tomorrow. I have a drs appt and they will be doing us/and blood work. I am guessing that the blood work must tell about the follicles so I will try to get numbers for everyone. Thanks to you all for just being here.

My biggest thing is not to lose faith. For me if this is what is meant to be then it will be and that hopefully will be enough for others as well. Will get more info tomorrow. Have a good day everyone.

Just wanted to wish all the ladies having ER and ET this week!!!! I'm thinking of you all.

I had my us/bw this am. They now added Ganirelix to my cocktail. So i guess i'm moving in the right direction...... Keeps us all posted girls!
