Hoping against hope............

Hi Shelly,
I might go for FET this November. I don't know wat to expect as I fall under Unexplained Infertility. My embryos were really good while we were having the IVF cycle so don't know wat will happen in FET?
At times I find myself emotionally and physically exhausted because of this unsuccesful thing.
I have 3 failed IUI's too(
Hoping this forum will help me emotionally and I will see things more optimistically.

I did accu for IVF #1 but not #2. I'll probably start it up again in a week or two in prep for #3. Just wish it wasn't SO expensive. If I go just once a week from now until ER, I'll spend about $900 just on that. As if just paying for the IVFs hasn't already bled me dry.

Hi ladies, as of today I am going to do IVF #2 in November. This is all very unexpected because a month ago I was 32 weeks pregnant. Our happy little world came crashing down on 8/21. My baby girl was stillborn because of a cord accident. We had no warning. She was active and moving 8/19 as I went to bed and 8/20 7AM didn't have a heartbeat. Happened overnight because of an unknown tight nuchal cord X2. Our Dr told my family that there were also 2 true knots in the cord but that hasn't been confirmed. They said that he told them that exact thing, around the neck twice and 2 true knots. There really was no warning. I just woke up to pee that morning and had an urge to listen to her heartbeat (I have my own doppler). For the first time I couldn't find her heartbeat. I was induced and delivered her at 4PM on 8/21. We had a funeral for her and are designing her headstone. We are so in love with her and are doing everything we can to get through this in a healthy way, counseling, support groups, etc. But have to rush back in to IVF in order to try to use my own eggs. I have early menapause. So my RE says it only takes 6-12 weeks for the uterus to be ready again. And her delivery was very clean, no D&C. My DR was very careful when delivering the placenta to be sure to not damage my uterus.
So we met with the RE today and will start after my October AF arrives. Hopefully early November IVF. Still in shock that I am even here. It has turned my world upside down. We were down to the wire and getting everything ready for Addison's arrival. I was due October 16th. So this is the last thing I ever thought I'd be doing in November! I am still very emotional and trying to work with a couselor who specializes in infertility. So we'll see how it all goes!

I am so sorry for your loss. One of my online friends just got a +HPT from IVF #5 after delivering her son from IVF #2 was born still more than a year ago. She is still grieving that loss (and probably will forever). My heart really goes out to you.

Shana - I am so sorry that you have gone through so much and you're very brave to get out there and try again. Best of luck to you - we'll be here for you!

Time is flying by...are some of you starting BCP soon? Once AF shows I will start on it again (yuck). Last time I started it, I felt really nauseated...fun fun!

Hope everyone has a great weekend

I go to SIRM-NJ. I would love to go to Dr. Sher but the NJ location is only 15 minutes from my house. I couldn't pass that up.
Good luck with your consultation. You will be in good hands if you go there! let me know how it turns out!

when is everyone starting their BCP's if they are doing a November ER/ET? I haven't started mine yet but am supposed to be in the Nov ER/ET? Is this normal that some start the BCP's earlier than others? Thanks

I will start the BCP after AF arrives in October. I'm not sure it makes a difference if you start them way in advance. The RE just wants to control your cycle with BCP. I only took them for a few weeks last time.

I am starting my BCP after my next period which should come on Sept. 29th but I never know it for sure due to my PCOS. I will start my Lupron on Oct. 28.
I will meet my RE tomorrow (Dr. Charles E. Miller/Schaumburg IL) and I will have a phone consultation with Dr. Sher (calling from Vegas) on Thursday. I have had a lot of failures so I want to have a third opinion. Dr. Miller is my second RE.
Where is everybody from?
Why did you pick your doctor? How did you decide on her/him?

I was told to call my RE on CD1 and start BCP - guess I'll be on them in October and November. Oct. 1 is next week already, so time is really moving along. DH is getting excited - last time I don't think he really "got it". I feel pretty calm so far - it's nice knowing what to expect (physically) and I don't feel the desperation this time. I know that if it's another BFN I'll be totally upset, but I know that I'll survive.

gypsy - to answer your Q, I am from Pittsburgh and my RE was referred to us by our urologist. I like them for the most part, but of course after the BFN I was not so happy.

Hope everyone is having a good day - it's gloomy here today after about 3+ weeks of beautiful weather.

Gypsy: My DH is from Schaumburg. I lived there for a while. I am actually in Idaho. We have 2 RE's here that are in the same clinic. My RE is the one who started the clinic. Dr. Faulk. He's a little harder to initially get into but it was worth the wait the first time around. He is awsome though and from what I understand very well respected. When we went through our first IVF, we were at our consult. So we are sitting in his office before he walked in and I turn around and there was my RE in a picture, with the President. I guess he is on some board for stem cell research. He knows his stuff and is very respected.

On another note: As you all may remember I just lost my daughter at 32 weeks to a cord accident. DH and I went to a support group tonight for others who have lost little ones. It was nice to hear others who tried again so quickly after a loss. None of them had to use IVF to get pregnant so I didn't have much support for jumping back into fertility treatment but as far as losing a baby, it's all the same no matter how the baby was created. The loss is hard no matter what.
