Wow, Hi shana, I am so sorry for your loss. I know nothing could ever make up for the loss of your daughter, but I hope this IVF will work for you and give you something new and positive off the bat. I can't imagine having the strength! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My baby girl was stillborn because of a cord accident. We had no warning. She was active and moving 8/19 as I went to bed and 8/20 7AM didn't have a heartbeat. Happened overnight because of an unknown tight nuchal cord X2. Our Dr told my family that there were also 2 true knots in the cord but that hasn't been confirmed. They said that he told them that exact thing, around the neck twice and 2 true knots. There really was no warning. I just woke up to pee that morning and had an urge to listen to her heartbeat (I have my own doppler). For the first time I couldn't find her heartbeat. I was induced and delivered her at 4PM on 8/21. We had a funeral for her and are designing her headstone. We are so in love with her and are doing everything we can to get through this in a healthy way, counseling, support groups, etc. But have to rush back in to IVF in order to try to use my own eggs. I have early menapause. So my RE says it only takes 6-12 weeks for the uterus to be ready again. And her delivery was very clean, no D&C. My DR was very careful when delivering the placenta to be sure to not damage my uterus.
So we met with the RE today and will start after my October AF arrives. Hopefully early November IVF. Still in shock that I am even here. It has turned my world upside down. We were down to the wire and getting everything ready for Addison's arrival. I was due October 16th. So this is the last thing I ever thought I'd be doing in November! I am still very emotional and trying to work with a couselor who specializes in infertility. So we'll see how it all goes!

So, I am sitting here waiting for AF to start. I am actually kind of excited about getting started for IVF. 95% excited and 5% nervous. It's just nice to be trying something else. And I have hope.

Yes- Shelly0 5 weeks of bcp! But I am okay with it, I had a vacation planned before we switched to IVF and it's that or wait until Dec... no thanks! I will surely let you know if I go crazy! It usually takes a few weeks! :P

Thinking of you all.

Well- reared her ugly head today along with a . I am kind of more bummed and less filled with hope than I have been the past few days. I hope that passes. I really want IVF to work and I am fully committed to it. I have such a mix of hope and fear. All of the research points to it being in my favor but I feel like I am always in the that smaller percentage group to the general population. (having unexplained and having more than one m/c for example, or having to watch all my friends try one month for a . Ack! These things are always more bothersome the day of for me!!!!!!!!) Of course, I know I am not the only one, and that's what is so great about this site. I just mean in my day to day life where I feel like the minority!

Anyways, I pick up my bcp today and start them Sat. and my hubby is having a more thorough SA tomorrow. I am sort of looking forward to all the work IVF is just so I can feeling like I am doing something. I find myself more preoccupied with this than ever though, anyone else having the same issue? How do I think about other things when doing something this involved? Ack!

(cross posted as there are two nov ivf groups, whoops!)

Hi all...

Well AF came yesterday so I called the office and I am now set up for a few of my appointments. I am so nervous but so excited. I pray every day that our first IVF will be a success but still prepared if not (if there is such a thing as being prepared for that).

Reading all your posts and having a connection with others going through the same process is so helpful and supportive.

I wish everyone the best in this journey and I hope we all get the result we all so desperately want !!!

10/6 - Sonohysterpgram
10/13-trial tansfer
10/20-instructions for Lupron
10/21 - start Lupron shots

Jessica, you're wondering how to think of other things while going through this? It's so tough! Wait until you have to start stims. I was totally unprepared the first time I did IVF, it is SO involved. It's almost impossible to focus on anything else because of all the appointments, keeping up with the right dosage of shots, crazy hormones, etc. After the transfer, it all pretty much stops and you wait.
Not to be a downer, but just a heads up of what to expect.
This is my last go at IVF and I am definately struggling with not letting it totally consume me. I think I need to come up with a new hobby or activity in the next few weeks!! Distractions are good, plan as many as you can to help keep your mind busy with other things rather than your ivf cycle...that's my advice.

Today, hubby and I go in for our ART consult and I will get my detailed schedule for the next 6 weeks.
Last night I went through my fridge and threw out all the expired meds from my past cycle. What a waste, I felt like I was just throwing money in the trash!...sigh

I figured out the easiest way for me was to go up to private messages in the right hand corner, Then on the left is the control panel and the first choice there is edit signature. THen you just type in your story....makes it easier to know what different people are dealing with! Good luck with that!

Gypsy~ We are currently going to the Cleveland Clinic, that is where my RE, his UR and his oncologist all are. Its kinda nice to be in one spot but have been wondering about getting a second opinion, but the thought of it scares me, have to basically start over again in the process! I am interested in how your DH did through diagnosis and what treatments he endured. Also how he is doing now?

YOU ALWAYS NEED A SECOND OPINION! If we would have listened to my husband's first doctor he might not be here anymore! This is serious stuff!
Good luck!

So I am doing my 4th IVF with a new doctor in Las Vegas. I got my period on Tuesday starting BCP today and Lupron on Oct. 9. We are going to be on vacation on the Mediteranean Sea (Cruise) and I am kind of worried about doing the shots there but on the other hand it is going to be so much fun and time will fly. We were planing to start everything after the trip but changing doctor messed up our plan. This new doctor can't start the process after our trip, this will be his last cycle of IVF this year so if we want to be in it I have to start to do the shots on our vacation. We will be back on the 25th and on the 27th I will be going to Vegas.
My ER is around November 2nd we are doing 5 day transfer (he only transfers blasts) if my prayers get answered and ET won't get cancelled like last time.
I am so excited about the next few weeks!
