What's up ladies! Sorry I've been MIA the last few days. We've been so busy. My husband's in a wedding this weekend and we've been running all over the place....... I have a few hours to myself before this wedding so finally I can post!

So happy to see more ladies on this board! It makes it a little easier to keep up!

Missy- Haven't heard from you in a while. How are you doing/how are things progressing?

Lynn/maplewood- I know you just started stims but how was your first ultrasound/check up? Do you appear to be responding better than last time? How are you feeling on the meds? Any side effects?

Flashgal- Looks like stims are going well for you. Good luck on Monday!

Hopeful- I hear you on the menopur! I hate that stuff, it stings so much! It looks like we are responding very similarly in the amount of folicles. However, my numbers are a lot higher than yours. (that most likely means good news for you and no OHSS!) Especially since they moved up you ER so early. Please keep us updated on how many, and how your embabies are doing, and most importantly how you're feeling.

AFM- I'm feeling bloated and not wanting to get dressed up tonight with my big bloated tummy. Went to the RE this morning. I have abouot 10 on each side that are between 13-18. Right now my Re still feels that the ER will be Wednesday 9/30. My E2 levels are at 2300 right now. I'm not suprised they are always like this even with the low dose of meds. I will stop menopur tonight but continue the follistim and lupron tonight. I'm excited and ready to get these eggs out of me, like the rest of you are, I'm sure.

Stay in touch ladies. Good luck to everyone!

Hi ladies - I feel so behind! It's been so busy at work...it's getting in my way of posting on this site! haha!! Thank you all for the warm welcome to this thread. It makes me feel better to "meet" other wonderful women who are going through a similar journey. It sounds like there has been some great progress with a few of you over the last few days, and that makes me hopeful!

AFM - my first u/s on 9/25 (CD 7) went really well. I already had much more follies this time than I did at CD10 the last time! I had my second u/s today and it's still looking good...I had about 10 total with several of them between 8-10mm. My RE said that she is almost certain we will continue with IVF this time, and not transfer to IUI like we had to the first time.

The stims are not bothering me too much...aside from some hot flashes (and lots of $$ out of my pocket!), they've actually been pretty good to me. The Menopur does sting though, especially now that I'm up to 150iu. The Ganirelix is new to me, but I don't feel any weird side effects - but my husband may say otherwise!

My next u/s and b/w is on Tuesday 9/29. On that day I will know if I will trigger on 9/30 or 10/1. Does anyone know what I should expect after ER? I've heard some people say that you can go back to your usual routine later that day, and others say that you should stay off your feet for up to a week!

Stay positive everyone! I will say a prayer for us all!

Lynn

Hey Maple/Lynn- so glad to hear you have more follies. That has to be so nerve racking. 10 sounds like a really solid number. Keep us posted on your ER.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask about how you feel after ER. They really take a lot out of me. Usually because I always have developed some case of OHSS and this time will be no different. Most people take at least that day off then slowly resume normal activies (like errands and work). I have to stay in bed because the bloating is too bad, I can't do anything. You're probably going to be sore the day of and then feel good after. Let me know how it goes!

AFM- Went in yesterday for ultrasound and blood, my E2 came back at 4300. YIKES! No meds last night except lupron. I went in today, E2 came back at 4900, Ugh. I have probably around 20 follies and am triggering at 10:30 tonight. Go in Wed 9/30 for ER. I didn't go to work today and I am not going tomorrow either. I feel really bloated and sore already, not good. I just pray we can transfer next Monday and I'm feeling okay.

Where's everyone eles who messaged on this board? How are you all doing????

HI Ladies,
I had my ER this morning, but I'm bummed as they only got two eggies! But RE said they only need one. I'm having ICSI so hopefully that helps my chances. They said the other eggs were not mature... which I noticed by the size going in, so am still curious why they went forward with the ER. Hopefully we'll have a positive outcome tomorrow or I'll start looking forward to cycle #2!

Missy- just checking in. How are your embryo's doing? I'm sorry you only had 2 retrived. I can remember, were you on a high dose o f meds?
There was a girl on the June boards wth me, who only had 3 and they got a BFP. I can't imagine how discouraged you must feel. But try to stay postive

AFM- Had my ER yesterday. They got 16, 12 of which fertilized. My RE said to plan for 5DT but could be 3DT depending on how they do. I'm feeling really bloated and tired today. I wish Monday was here already.

Praying for everyone......Hope you're all doing okay. Would love to hear an update

Rachel - hi there. The RE cancelled my cycle today. Neither of the eggies fertilized. I'm bummed, but I refuse to get too down about it because I think that has a negative affect on your body!

I was on a high dose of Lupron. It was an error on the part of the nurse, they called in the wrong dosage and didn't notice until I called one day saying I would run out of meds! They called back telling me about the error, but said it's not a "wrong" dosage - it's actually the Lupron Flare dosage, just not what they had prescribed for me. But supposedly I was doing ok on it.

The RE is calling me this evening and I plan to give him a piece of my mind about this mixed up protocol/dosage! Maybe I'm just wanting to blame somebody, but they told me at the time if they had to cancel my cycle they would replace the meds for me -- so they must have thought it was going to cause a situation at the time!

This is so nerve-racking! But onto my next cycle!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA. I've had a busy week at work and I think I've just been doing what I can to keep myself distracted. Who knew I was such an impatient person??

Missy: I'm so very sorry to hear about your experience. I cannot imagine how frustrating it is to have the doctors/nurses make an error in such a crucially important process. I'll be thinking good thoughts and prayers for you. Please keep us updated on your next step!

Eileen: How is everything going with stims? Feeling ok?

Lynn: By now you must of had your ER. How did it go? Feeling ok?

Rachel: 12 fertilized! That's awesome! How are things going? Are you feeling better this time than in previous IVFs? Wishing you the best on Monday!!

AFM: The end of my stims went pretty well. I was right on track, but then my left ovary kinda slowed down and the follicles (20+) were undersized compared to the right. We did an extra day of stims and then the HCG trigger. I was so incredibly sore and bloated. My E2 went up to 3200, which is pretty high, but no Rachel!! There was also fluid in my uterus which they said was probably due to the high estrogen levels. They put me on a gatorade protocol: all gatorade all the time. No water!!! Which I still dont' understand.
The ER was last Tuesday. It was a pretty intense experience. My doctor/nurses were awesome as usual, but I was a bit of a stubborn patient. At first, they couldn't find a needle to start an IV. (Which is weird because I usually don't have issues with finding veins. I think its a dehydration issue from the lack of water The retrieval went well though, I had 13 retrieved. 8 were mature and all 8 fertilized! yay! After I woke up, they gave me a fair dose of vicodin. Ugh... it ruined my day. I would have prefered the pain. I was sick allllllll day. By the next day I was pretty much good to go, just moving slowly.
As of yesterday (day 3) we still had 6 going strong. We are planning a day 5 transfer tomorrow at 11:30.
I'm super excited but still nervous that they will cancel it. If there is still fluid in my uterus, they cannot proceed with the transfer.

I hope everyone is doing well!! I can't believe how slowly this process goes, but now in retrospect, I feel like we just made the decision to start IVF a few days ago and now here we are!

Best wishes!

- Lisa

Lisa- so good to hear from you. Glad your feelinng better and ready to transfer tomorrow. I always feel really bad after the ER up to ET so glad your sickness didn't linger

AFM- Woke up yesterday feeling great, better than I ever have 2days post ER. Then out of nowhere, I got this intense pain in my lower left ovary area, it would not stop. I fainted and my husband took me to the ER. Turns out I had a cyst rupture in my ovary. I've never been in so much pain. They kept me there for 8 hours, it sucked but I'm feeling better now.

Good news is we are transferring blasts on Monday, yeah! I swear if it isn't one thing it's another thing but I appear to be back on track.

Would love to hear from the other ladies on this board when you have time.

Wow, what a scary experience Rachel. I'm glad everything is ok and its not going to interfere with your transfer! How much time are you going to take off to stay home after ET? How strictly do you stick to "bedrest"?

What a week - I'm so glad to be catching up with you ladies!

Missy - sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle, and the mix-up with the meds. I totally admire your positiveness through all of that. I'm wishing good thoughts for your round 2.

hopeful - Good luck to you tomorrow. I'm hoping that fluid goes away and you can move on with the transfer. How exciting! I am with you on the Vicodin though...I'm so sensitive to it, that taking half of one pill makes me sick as a dog, and if I'm not puking, I'm having nightmares that I'm being chased by anything and everything. it's the weirdest thing!

Rachel - Sorry to hear about your unexpected trip to the hospital, but glad you're feeling better. I'll be thinking good thoughts on Monday for a successful transfer for you!

AFM - I went through my first ER yesterday. I was out of it for most of the day, but am feeling better today with just some slight cramping. They retreived 10 eggs, and I just got the call this morning that 8 have fertilized. They have tentatively scheduled me for a Day 3 transfer on Monday, but they will call me first thing on Monday morning if things are looking good for a Day 5 transfer. I'm glad I'm taking the week off!

I sure hope this is the month for all of us!

Because I tend to hyperstimulate very easy, I stay in bed from ER to 5 days post ET. I drink gatorade and eat protein like crazy. I know it seems a bit excessive but my body needs it. My E2 just get way to high. I just take time off from work and my RE writes me a note.

I'm so glad we're all getting close to transferring! SO EXCITING! I'm scheduled for 11 on Monday. Yeah.....This is our last try so we're planning on transferring 3 blasts.

Lynn- Glad to hear you're recovering well after your ER. Did that put you completely under? They do at my office. Thanks goodness.
What about everyone else? If you could choose on how many to transfer, what would you pick?

Heart

Lisa..today is the day!!! I hope and pray everything goes well!!

I am feeling kind of sick today. We were out for dinner last night, and my stomach is upset. I feel nautious, and I started the ganirelix yesterday morning and I just took another injection this morning and not feeling too good! Anyway, I can't wait to get back to the Dr.'s office. On Friday I had about 5 follicles. (Last time I only had 3)

I am glad to hear everyone else is doing great! Can't wait until we all put on our sigs!!!

Have a great day ladies!

Eileen

Lisa - I'm so anxious to hear how you're doing. Did you have your transfer done today? My fingers and toes are still crossed for you!

Rachel - I wasn't under general anaesthesia like I was for my laparoscopy, but it was just as good! I didn't feel a thing and when I woke up 30 minutes later, I wasn't as woozy as I thought I would be. It sounds like tomorrow is the day for us both! It's a good question that you pose, about how many to transfer, b/c I have no idea at this point. This is our first IVF, and I'm hoping that it will be our last. The nurse just called me with an update, and she said that we have 7 out of the 8 fertilized egss that are the highest grade. Don't get me wrong - I'm not looking to be the next Octo-Mom, but I do want this to result in a healthy pregnancy. Of course I'm going to listen to my RE's recommendations, but curious to hear how many you all would transfer?

And one other question: do I need to have my husband or someone else with me to drive me homw from the ET? I've asked a few of the nurses and some say I can drive myself home, and others say I should have someone with me to drive me. I'm fine to go myself, especially since my husband has work tomorrow, and it's been rather slow for him at work, so it doesn't feel right to turn it down. Any advice?
