Squito-thanks for the b-day wishes, I hope you are right
Genevieve-good luck with your ER tomorrow!!!!
Hopeful- this will also be my 3rd IVF and hopefully the successful one for both of us, I start Lupron on Oct 16th so I think my ER going to be right around yours. I am so excited and nervous.
AFM: not much going on here, had acupuncture this afternoon which was so relaxing.
Do you ladies think that we should start like a calendar of where everyone is or not really necessary since some are Oct and some Nov/Dec?
What is everyone else up to?

We're doing all ICSI this time since those were the stronger one's last spring. Lots and lots of good luck and for all my fellow "try again"ers !

Genevieve, hope your ER went well this morning.

Hi Ladies - Quick question for those of you doing Estrogen Priming - Is your estrogen in Pill or injection?

The original protocol I was given had a combination of the two: pill from 7 days after positive OPK until day 2 of pd. and then a few injections during stims. My RE changed my protocol on the day of my suppression check and took out the injections, so now I'm just doing pills. He said that the protocol w/o the injections was an older version of EPP, but the explanation on why he switched it was not at all clear. Unusual for him, since he's usually very clear. I know there are many variations of EPP, though. For instance, I've read that Cornell uses patches for the priming, not pills or shots. What are you using?

Genevieve -- Congrats, 30 eggs is amazing! What great news.

Genevieve: Congratulations to our leader of the pack! 30 eggs is outstanding!! Can’t wait to hear your fert report tomorrow!!

Squito: Yeah for starting stims! You’ll be at ER before you know it!

Hopeful: Welcome! I hope we all get summer 2010 babies!!

jp: I think a calendar would be nice…just because it helps keep us reminded of all the important dates; especially since we are going to be fairly spread out…maybe not something we update daily, but something to keep us posted.

South: That’s great that she is rearing her head…wow; two that are starting stims this week…that’s excellent news!!

Hi to everyone else…I hope you are all well!

AFM: I’m still waiting on my calendar…I called the clinic today and got an answering machine…finance says they haven’t seen my chart yet, but that she will ask about it tomorrow. I really don’t have a lot of patience right now…I know I will settle down when I have a calendar; I’m just a little fixated right now.

Anj: We’d be glad to have you join us! I’m with you on being tired of treatment…I just want to hold my baby. This will also be my 4th IVF…I really hope this thread sees some great success for summer 2010 babies!!

jp: I did AH with IVF#2…the clinic said I didn’t need it because the shell on my embryos wasn’t consistent with what they would normally do AH with…but I insisted…I needed something to help me feel like I was increasing my chances and doing something different. It runs a greater risk of twinning…but that’s really not a problem in my book (you have to have a baby for it to divide into two)! There’s also a risk that it can result in a non-viable embryo. For me, I looked at how many women seem to have success that have done AH and I figured the risk to the embryo was minimal. I don’t know if I will ask for it this time. There is part of me that wonders if my baby would have stuck better if I had done AH this last time…I know that those thoughts aren’t really the best since the m/c more than likely occurred due to chromosomal problems…but like with anything, we tend to overanalyze why each event occurs. Are they recommending that you do AH this time? What has your clinic said about it? I know that mine normally does it with AMA and if the “shell” on the embryo is thick.

Genvieve: 16 fertilized is wonderful!! I hope they make beautiful blasts for you to transfer! I’m sure you will lead our crew with the first BFP.

Hopefully everyone is having a great day...it's almost the weekend!

AFM: Wow, I was just in the middle of writing about how I am going to call the finance rep today since I know my file was placed in her hands…and she called!! I just paid for the cycle, so we have movement!! I’m hoping that my chart makes it back to the nurses quickly so that I can get a calendar…I always feel so much better once I have a calendar. The good news is that since it has taken me so long to get to this point this cycle, my wait time before starting meds should be minimal…that’s excellent news…I am tired of BCPs!

Genevieve, 16 is awesome! You'll be PUPO soon!

Anj, welcome! You must be so frustrated after 3 cycles and 3 pregnancies. that this is the one. Have you had testing done to try to determine the cause?

JP, I did AH last time and will likely do it again, because my egg quality is not so great. It was used last time, because the lab described the shell of my embies as "tough" -- not what you want to hear! For me, the extra help with implantation of a tough embie outweighs the minor risks.

3rdtime, Yea for movement! You should have that calendar soon. It's funny how that piece of paper makes it feel real.

Samantha, you're one day closer to starting stims.

Hi to everyone else. Hope everyone is doing well.

No update on my end. I just wanted to check in and say hi and keep our little thread from falling onto page 2!

Hi everyone -- I thought I would stop in. I finally had my appointment with my RE. He seemed at a loss why my 2nd IVF didn't work. He says he's had 100% success with people my age with my "good" indicators so that made me somewhat hopeful (I am still really struggling emotionally with my last failed cycle). I go in next week for a uterine biopsy to see if there is any inflammation in my lining. I almost wish something would come up bc that is pretty easy to treat and would be an explanation for my constant failures. Anyway, I am happy to see so many new members on this thread!

Genevieve -- I think 30 eggs and 16 embies are amazing! There's got to be one that will stick among the bunch. Congratulations!
