My Dr only recommended assisted hatching since i had 2 failed cycles...I havent been told anything about the shell of my embryos. I seriously feel like my lab doesnt give out ANY information as they pretty much leave you in the dark until you go in for the ET. My RE basically was like we can try AH, didnt seem to think it was absolutly necessary either. I have had a good fertilization report but both times have only had 2 embryos to transfer on Day 3 and no survivign embryos so I am assuming that they are not good quality. But the surviving ones have not had any fragmentation so I find that confusing....
AFM: i seriously cant believe that i have 2 more weeks of BCP's left!!!

jp: I would think that it would be worth it to try AH; it might just be the ticket to your BFP!

I have not been able to get in touch with my clinic yet today. They now have lots of messages from me! I know that I am now going to have to wait until after the weekend to get my calendar...the worst part is that I forgot it is a long weekend...now I have to wait until Tuesday. Man I need to work on patience!!

hello, nice to see the thread is growing. to all the new folks.

So I'm a bit behind as work and life have been insane. but first of all 30 eggs with 16 embies. you go girl!!! how many will you transfer?
South- think you started stims today?
JP it sounds like a long time but really, it does fly by
AFM. paid in full today which was a hassle b/c td banknorth has their heads up their asses. I did n't have confirmation of payment until 4:45 and that is after some infruiating calls to the bank. I'm starting lupron on Monday. Even if my meds don't come on time b/c of holiday, my friend has some leftover lupron she said I could have. yeah, thank god for friends who are dealing with this also!! start stims ?22nd. As for egg retrieval who knows, I asked for only 8 days worth f meds. hopefully that will be enough. It is is so friggin expensive...
I'm really scared about this cycle but maybe more optimistic than before. hopefully this is the one!!!It's our last hurrah so . Can't wait for all the . JP how do I add to the calander??

Justone-to add to the calender just copy and paste the calender and just like you are writing a post just add your information. If you want I dont mind doing it, try see if it works.
So since you are paying out of pocket for the cycle is it just for one cycle or like 3 cycles? i heard my lab has like a flat rate you pay to do up to 3 cycles. Are you doing the BCP then Lupron protocol? I hate the 2 weeks of BCP's before starting the lupron!

3rdtimes-i get so frustrated when you hear it works 1st time for someone in their 40's with more problems them the rest of us. I mean happy for them and all but why is it so hard for some yet so easy for others.

As for the decreasing my dose to prevent my E2 levels from rising my levels get high even on low dose, i think its due to my age........
I start Lupron one week from tonight....i cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully I'll get a good update on my embabies tomorrow; day 3 . I tried to talk my RE into transferring 3 this time, but he will only do 2 because of my age. Hopefully on Monday I will be PUPO with twins!!

jp, I've been on bcp for 2 weeks now, thinking we'd be doing a cycle, so I'll be a week ahead of you. you do lupron for 1 week while on bcp and then about 1 week of lupron only before stims? is that correct? I'm not even sure what that protocol is called??
With BIVF I pay one flat fee and then I actually can get my us/bw locally with my NH RE. It is like an a la carte menu though, if we want icsi, we add 2500, if we want assisted hatching we add 3000. ICSI was suggested to us after 1st cycle but we took a gamble and declined and we had good fertilization. I hope that proves true this time. I asked if they had a frequent IVF'r plan so the more I do the cheaper it gets....they didn't think that was funny
JP I was able to update calander to adjust my date. calander definitely makes it easier.
Genevieve- good luck on transfer. pupo on monday!!! 2 is still a good number to tsf. will you freez the rest if they are freezable?

Thanks for adding me!! I just got an update from the clinic. 13 embies have made it to 6-10 cells!!
So we're on for a 5 day ET on Monday @ 12:30!! So happy.... Hang in there my embabies .

Justone - Wow Stims on Monday . I am this is the one for us all!

Genevieve- Excellent fert report . Just a few days till your embies are home with you Can't wait to hear how it goes.

3rdtime- I'm sorry you have to wait. I hate all the waiting we go through. You are getting close .

Alfowler- What type of estrogen priming are you doing?

Squito- How are the stims going? When is your first follie check? My first check is Wednesday. I took the estrogen pills from 10 days after + on OPK and stopped with the start of af. Now I am on 300 gonal-f and 150 Menopur also I am taking dexameth.. at bedtime. What are your meds like? Funny how everyone does things so different.

I can't believe I am on day 2 of stims. I have decided to treat this cycle as a newbie I am not going to ask for my levels. I find I compare to much so this is my less stress approach So happy to have the support ladies.

Sam-I can’t believe you are already on stims!!!!! i really feel like this is going to be your cycle.
Have you decided how many you will transfer?
this is your first time doing this protocol right? I notice that a few people on her are on the estrogen priming protocol. Wonder why my RE has never mentioned it. He said if this cycle doesn’t work he will add another medication to the GonalF but would rather I not have to take so many shots. I really hope that he won’t have to. Have all of your transfers been Day 3? I will most likely give AH a shot I feel better hearing that you have always done it and it has worked for you a few times. Was AH covered by your insurance? my RE suggested a call and ask. My insurance covers unlimited ivf treatment so I would think they would cover it but no idea. I hear people say that the lab tells them about the shell of the embryo I have never heard anything about mine, have you?
Also love your attitude about treating this like like you are new to it since after all its a new protocol so cant compare it to the other ones. I also told DH that i feel like I am starting from the beggining since the surgery is behind me now so its like I will pretend that its my first cycle and if god forbit it didnt work I will not do my next cycle at RSC.

Hi! Yeah that’s the protocol that I am on 3 weeks of BCP, after 2 weeks I start Lupron and after 9 days or so on Lupron I go for the suppression check. I think it’s called the antagonist protocol. So if you want to is there an option to pay one rate for like 3 cycles? I know RSC has that because their phone greeting says it....I can’t even imagine what it must cost if its to due 3 cycles. Maybe its cheaper to just do it the a la carte way.

I just noticed that my nurse messed up my calendar she put that I start Gonalf 187.50 when my RE has recommended start at 250 when I met with him. So something I have to deal with tomorrow...good thing I am on vacation all week!!!

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I updated the calendar with my start date, and now have to turn back to the work I want to get done this morning so I can enjoy the afternoon.

SouthamptonS, my first follie check is tomorrow morning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good growth, but I've also read on this forum that follies may get off to a slower start on EPP than other protocols so I am also bracing myself for the possibility of not seeing a lot of action yet. It is interesting to see that there are so many variations on each protocol. As for meds other than estrogen, I started with the max dose of 600 of Follistim (300 morning, 300 evening) for the first 3 days, then stepped down to 450 Follistim + 150 Menopur (since they're similar drugs, I'm not sure this is an overall stepdown). My poor little ovaries need all the help they can get. And I hear you on trying to treat this like a newbie. My goal is to remain as positive as possible, do what I can to make this cycle successful, but NOT to obsess over every minute detail.

Jp- I hear you. This is our last cycle with RSC as well. I am this is all we need. We decided if we have 3 that are 6 cell grade B and better it will be 3 but if not all such good quality we will do 4 . How many will you transfer? I like your attitude as well. This is the laid back cycle.

Squito - Best of luck in the am. Can't wait to hear how things go. Thanks for bringing up the slow responders it is a good thing to keep in mind. This is the lower dose for me so I hope all goes well.
