Sam-what bothers me the most about RSC is that the day before the ET they don’t tell you anything about the embryos. Maybe it’s because I am a Umass patient? I was told that it’s how they do things and that you find out the quality the day of the ET. It’s the most nerve wrecking part.
We will be transferring 2, they are even hesitant in doing 2 in case one splits which I would obviously take triplets over another

Have all of your transfers been Day 3? Based on my past 2 cycles I doubt that I will make it pass day 3. Thinking of trying out AH this time.

Do you remember the quality of your embryos for your successful cycles? my first cycle I transferred 2 7-cell grade B second cycle was 2 a 5 and 6 cell grade A and was told that the 6 cell was compacting and become and 8 cell....
Sorry for all the questions all the time but its because you have actually had success with IVF

JP- No worries ask away I agree I hate the lack of information. It is one of the worst parts. The cycle with my son I had a 8 cell and 7 cell grade A , I also had 2 frozen 8 cell grade B frozen on day 3. I was 35 at the time. We had always done a day 3 up until the last time we did a day 2. For the 1st IVF after my son we were going to try for a 5 day but we did not make it. I never seem to have enough to push forward. This time I opted to not do a day 2 or 3 flex. I want to wait till day 3 and see what we have. Since the cycle with my son I have not had another 8 cell. The RE at Boston IVF said embie quality is due to egg quality. Will they not let you put in more due to your age? I am scared to put in 4 but they said the chance of triplets is 1%. My RE does not want to transfer 4 high quality embies because she knows how we feel about selective reduction. We will take whatever we are lucky enough to be given.

Not sure where my previous post came from but I think it happens sometimes when I am checking the website on my phone and I hit something.

Sam-thank you I really appreciate all of your advice on IVF. I seriously think that the people on here are more helpful then the nurses we deal with at least the ones that I have to deal with. The nurse messed up my Gonalf dose on the calendar that I just received and what she basically did was just copied last cycle's instead of look at my RE's notes from when he met with me! I am so annoyed that I don’t even know if I want to continue dealing with them. I know I am probably over reacting right now. Based on what I have researched online it also says that embryo quality is due to egg quality. My FSH is fine and I have responded great to the cycle which is hwy I am confused. RE thinks that I just haven’t had the right cycle. They don’t like to do 3 because of my age not to mention that I haven’t had a 3rd good one to transfer since I only had 2 good enough to transfer both cycles.

Hi! May I join your group?

I’ve been lurking around here for the past year, but I don’t post much. However, this thread seems very appropriate for my situation because, like you, I feel like a ‘veteran’ and it’s hard to read and participate in the threads with optimistic first-timers (I never thought I’d say that).

Anyway, from my signature you can see that we have started IVF #3. I have my suppression check on Wednesday, Oct. 14, and then hopefully will start stims on Oct. 17. I am trying to stay optimistic for this cycle, but it’s not easy after so many defeats. We are unexplained, so to this day we have no answers as to what is wrong with me.

I am glad to be able to share with others who are in similar situation, and hope for the best outcome for all of us this cycle.

RSF- . So close to getting things started. Best of luck this cycle.

JP-How many eggs do you have at ER? The cycle with my son I had 12 mature eggs and ended up with 4 embies 2 to transfer 2 to freeze since then I have not had more than 3 to transfer but 2 have better quality and 1 is a c or less. They say the same thing to me as well. We just need the right dose of medication to get those perfect eggs. This cycle is the one . Are you doing anything fun for your vacation?

justone: GL with starting your stims today! It’s going to go so fast from here on out!

jp: I just wish there was a real reason that they could put their finger on to say why I haven’t been able to get and stay pregnant up to this point…

Genevieve: GL with your transfer today! Wow, our first person to be PUPO…how exciting!! We transferred 3 for the first time our last cycle…I would actually transfer 4 if they would let me. I know it increases your chance for multiples, but given my track record, I’m ready to take my chances!! Rest up today and let those embies snuggle in nicely!!

South: hopefully your stims are treating you nicely. I hear you on wanting to treat the cycle like a newbie…I kinda feel like this cycle will be for me since I am trying a new protocol. I’m very interested to see how I respond this time.

Squito: I hope that your follie check was wonderful today!

AFM: I am thrilled to announce that for the first time in the year I have been with this clinic, I got a phone call on a Federal Holiday!! I will start Lupron tomorrow (perhaps that’s why I got the call); thankfully I had a 2 week kit leftover from my FET. I get to take 2 weeks of Lupron before I go in for my baseline (one week with and one without BCPs). I don’t know if I will start stims the same day as my baseline or a few days later…all I know is that I can expect my ER to be sometime around 9 November…I am hoping for either 8 or 11 November as those would be best for me scheduling wise…so I know that means it will be anything but one of those two days. Right now I don’t care…I’m just happy to get this show on the road!

Hi there & welcome! Looks like we are starting stims on the same day. I'm going in on Oct 16 to confirm the 'go ahead'.... good luck to you!

I'm finding it hard to be enthusiastic about this cycle. I've been eating crappy, drinking way too much wine and not getting nearly enough sleep. back again

Hi Ladies. I am back for yet another round of IVF with the rest of you. I really pray that November is going to be our month.

I notice a couple of you from the first IVF thread I was on in August. I am sitting out a month and now have put down a deposit with the RE office and will try again in November. I am not sure of exact dates as I am waiting for AF to start. This will be my first AF after miscarrying and I'm not sure when it will happen. I look forward to meeting all of you on this thread and getting to know all of you. Good luck to all of you!

BABY DUST TO ALL!

Follie Check

Wow, it's great to see that so many people are starting stims/about to start stims or starting other meds. We're really rolling now, and that Genevieve is our first BFP.

AFM, I had my first follie check this morning, and I'm happy with the results. At my first check last cycle, I had 5 follies on the left and none on the right, and 10 follies total at ER. Today, I have 12 total with 7 of the 12 on the right. Guess that right side does work after all! Most are between 9 and 12 in size, but a few on the left are as small as 6ish so I doubt those will catch up. I start Ganirelex and Omnitrope tomorrow and go back for another check on Thursday. Go, follies, go.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Sam~ I am doing the vivelle dot patch and testosterone cream right now. Next week I will stop those and take prometrium until period starts. It is kind of weird but worked pretty good last cycle.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Sam-how are you feeling so far? When is your next ultrasound? was assisted hatching covered by your insurance?
My first ER I had 12 and the second I had 13 eggs. They seem to fertilize fine.
From what I understand my RE is not surprised with my results as he thinks that its normal. What happens is my E2 level starts to get high after 10-11 days on stims and they have to make me trigger rather then letting me go another day. My E2 level goes up fast even with being on a lower dose. I think it’s due to my age. But what concerns me is that my RE and the one I met with at Boston IVF were surprised why I only had 12-13 eggs based on the # follies that I had…so who knows! Both times I had the same RE at RSC due the ER. He seems really nice. He is the one who is associated with Harvard Vanguard.
This time instead of starting at 187.50 of gonalf I will be starting at 250 for 2 days then going for an ultrasound, then based on how I am doing my dosage might be decreased.
My first cycle was my first infertility treatment ever since I have never done and IUI and my dosage was very low as my RE wanted to start of carefully. DH and I messed up the gonalf the first time using it and it threw my levels slightly off.
I am not doing anything all week just errands, cleaning the house and getting a little bit settled in. DH has his own business so hard to take the time off.

3rdtime-glad to hear that I won’t be the only one on Lupron on here, I have been starting to feel lonely with everyone being on stims.

RSF-

TracyB- sorry about the m/c

Williams- you have come to the right place! we can all relate when it comes to being discoraged after a failed cycle, i am so excited to start again but so scared at the same time.

Hi ladies!
I'm laid up in the bed after my ET today. Out of 13 embies on Saturday, 12 were still going strong ! We transferred 2, that my RE said were very good. The remaining 10 will stay in the lab for another day, then hopefully will become totsicles! I'm so happy that I responded so much better this time. In April we didn't have any to freeze. I'm for my twins... please snuggle in there. Thank You so much for keeping me in your thoughts.
