First Low Beta Success????

Hi Everybody,
I had my HCG on Tuesday 10/22 and it was my first and was 15. Have any of you heard of successful pregnancies with such low beta? I have my next scheduled tomorrow.

Thanks
Wannabe

Im right there with you wannabe... I had my first beta today and it was 27, I go back on Monday.... my RE called said good and bad news ... beta was positive but the # wasnt where he wanted it to ideally be... said wanted around 50... said he has plenty of woman with low betas that go on to full pregnancies... so Im trying to stay positive as I can... after all the waiting to get to today... I now have another 4 days to wait to again see if???

Best of luck to us both!

betas..

I know the anxiety and fear that you are feeling right now. I was in your shoes a few years ago with my daughter. My first beta was 14.8 and I went on to have a very normal and healthy pregnancy. Good luck!

I think it is important to note what day after transfer did you do the beta? My RE said anything over 100 at 14 days past a 3 day transfer is good. I hadn't quite doubled and was nervous. But I am 15 weeks pg with no complications. The first beta just gives them a starting point to know if the 2nd beta is increasing. Don't worry about it yet.

Hi ladies,

Looking for some insight. At 16dp5dt, my beta was only 25. The nurse said she was looking for a minimum of 100 at that time and said that this probably wouldn't last. She had me come back four days later and my beta jumped to 200. Two days after that, it jumped again to 800. So it's definitely more than doubling, but it started so very low. This has been such a roller coaster. I don't know what this means. They said they want me to come back November 3rd for an ultrasound. But its so long to wait! I'm staying optimistic and thinking that this is going to work out, but I want to know if anyone has had the same experience. Do these numbers indicate anything? Ectopic or blighted ovum or something? I'm just in shock and hope everything is ok.

Thanks ladies!

DH and I decided to stop the Clomid torture and attempt IVF

IVF#1:
August '09 - Began BCP
9/10 - First Lupron injection
9/18 - Supression check - E2 level - 32. Ready to go!
9/19 - Start stims: Menopur (75), Lupron (5) and Gonal-f (75)
9/22 - B/w only - E2 - 432. A little high so Gonal-f lowered to 37.5
9/24 - B/w - ER - 833. Lots and lots of follies growing!
9/26 - B/w - ER 2700. Right ovary showing larger follicles. Fluid seen in uterus. Warned they could cancel transfer if fluid remains.
9/29 - ER - 13 eggs, 8 mature, 8 fertilize
10/4 - ET - Transfer of 2 perfect blasts. The rest did not make it to freeze. Praying that this one works!
10/15 - Beta #1

One place to go to is BetaBase - it has great information.

Do not rely on this information though, at 15DP5DT my first BETA was 130... good right? I thought so as well lol... next BETA was 280... great for a singleton right??? Well, to our shock we are having twins, so my numbers were a bit more than where they should be it was not in line with twins, and I am now 7w2d pregnant. A positive is a positive.

DO NOT GOOGLE... it will drive you INSANE and it will only make you worry more.

Got my results.

I got my second beta in today. It was a 80. The nurse said that it is promising and asked me to come again on Monday.

Hope everything goes good on Monday...

Well yesterdays HPT still got a positive result and was for sure darker then the first one I did day before beta,took another this morning and it is positive but the 2nd line is much fainter... Im guessing that this is maybe an indication that my HCG is dropping. I was kind of anticipating this, as much as you try to stay poitive starting with a low beta and hearing the RE say be guardedly optomistic doesnt help. I still have to wait till Monday to know for sure, just not thinking this is to positive an indicator.

All the HPT tells you is whether you are pregnant or not.... HPT's range in starting sensitivity to pick up hcg of 25 mcg, others start picking up at 50mcg, and other HPT's don't detect til 100mcg... this is why some women get a BFN with one test and a BFP with another type.

Pregnancy test sensitivity/most sensitive HPT's

Good luck to all of you, plenty of ladies start out with slow betas and go on to have very healthy pregnancies! Keep the faith and positive thinking!

Hi everybody,
I got my beta today and it was only 120.

First on 9/20 == 15
Second on 9/23 == 80
Third on 9/26 == 120

Has anyone seen any success stories with similar cases????

Your story sounds great! Thanks for posting it! I am sweating over here about tomorrow beta!

My first beta was 11dp3dt of 3 embbies on 10/22 - 130

Second beta 15dp was 301.

I go tomorrow for the next. The nurse said they would have liked to see 400 or higher. I have no bleeding, minor if any cramps, so just really hoping and praying.

Thanks so much for your post! I wish the nurse never said to me it might wind up ectopic! That has been on my mind all day yesterday!!
