This is really confusing to me- I had 3rd IVF in Aug and then few weeks after pos beta had m/c and my betas dropped on own. My last beta was on Oct 5th and dr said it was negative. I am about to start some new meds- not fertility- and just out of curiousity found a leftover hpt and decided to take it today just to make sure before take those meds that are not safe in pregnancy. Well. my hpt is pos, but I am thinking prob still leftover from m/c? I read you can have pos hpt for quite some time after m/c. So how long can you have pos hpt after m/c and would you still have pos hpt but neg beta?

If your doc said it was negative then it had to be less than 5. I cant see a hpt picking that up 3 weeks later.

I would call your doctor and get in for a blood test ASAP! you could be pregnant.

I had a miscarriage and it took almost 4-6 weeks for the HCG to come out of my system. It depends on the sensitivity of the HPT test also. I am sorry to hear of your loss.

I am sorry for your loss as well... My hCG wasn't negative until 6 weeks after my m/c (I was 8.5 weeks when I lost the pregnancy). I didn't POAS, though, so I am not sure what that would've shown.

I had to go to my RE's office weekly until my hCG was under 5... Not fun...

I see in your siggy that your beta only got up to 68. that wouldnt take long to get out of your system. I was 12 weeks pregnant when i lost my baby and my beta was zero in 4 weeks.

Well My beta actually got up to 129, but it started to drop the next day which was only one week after I had my first pos beta. So then I started to bleed like a period before my beta went to 0 and I had 2 u/s and last one (same day of neg beta) showed no sighs of preg anymore. This is what is confusing to me- just last week I htough I was getting AF again, but it was super super light like pre- af and never really heavy. I just thought my cycle was trying to regulate again and maybe just light at first. but after my 2nd IVF- AF came with a vengence. OH well, hae a call into my ob to see what is up.

The line is darker than it ever was with my last pos hpt ( when I m/c) I used first response with 2 lines- same ones I had last time too. It would prob only be 2 1/2 weeks after conception now.

Do you really think I could preg? Just seems too early to even tell and just seems it is leftover hcg from m/c, but why would lab beta be neg and not hpt?

do you remember when you had your last beta before the 5th and what the number was? It could of been negative before the 5th, so almost a month ago. Its possible you could of ovulated and became pregnant.
