BFP from poor quality embryos?

Don't ask me why I'm posting this now, my beta is tomorrow, but I just read all the posts in the sticky 'success stories' thread, and it was very disheartening. It seems like no one with poor quality embryos (like my poor little guys) gets a BFP. I think every single post had at least 'good' quality embryos transferred.

I could just take a HPT but I've waited this long I'm going to try to stick it out till tomorrow.

Anyway, if it worked for you with poor little ones, let me know (I'm curious, even if ours does turn out to be a BFN).

Thanks!

Sculli - Hi I am so sorry you have this additional stress. Best of luck tomorrow . I know how you feel. I always have embroy envy. My guys this time were slow growers as they have been for a while now. Quality is in the middle but cell division is low. It is just one more thing to worry about. I wish you the best of luck. I am thinking about trying another lab next time to see if it makes any difference. You are strong not to POAS I can't wait to start

My embies were grade C and they did a 2dt because they did not think they would make it to day 3. That was our successful cycle!

Good Luck!!!

I'm PREGNANT!!!!

I'm in a state of shock and keep crying and can't wipe this cheesy grin off my face. After 6 years my poor little embabies held on (at least one!) and I finally saw my first on a HPT. My beta is 657!

Apparently you CAN get pregnant with low quality embryos!

wishing you a very safe and happy journey.

But if you don't mind me asking, what are you calling low grade embryos? How many cells/grade???

I just had an ET, and dont make many eggs and was luck to have two dividing embryos at day3 transfer.

Good luck!

Our clinic rates them on a scale of 1-3 (1 being the best, 3 being the worst). Our RE said most embryos they put back are 2's. I don't know how many times they had divided but all 6 were 3's on their scale. In the picture they all look pretty bad (very fragmented, more like scrambled eggs) - nothing like pictures of 'perfect' 3-day old embryos I compared them to online.

When we found out the quality (at the ET) the RE was very much preparing-us-for-failure. She said 'save your tears until after the pregnancy test' (which immediately made me start crying) but was also prepping us to be thinking about where we wanted to go next (donor eggs or stop altogether).

The other 3 that we didn't put in the embryologist said they each divided a couple more times and then finally started degenerating.

I think some people get more info on the number of cells/dividing than we do - we just get the numeric rating.

But I'm sold now that it's worth hoping and being as positive as everyone else, no matter what you hear about your embryos. If they're putting them back then they have a chance, so don't give up on them

Good Luck!!!
