clinical trial??
Hello girls, looks like we are starting over again w/ this process. Anyway, since we have zero coverage, IVF just isn't something that we can afford right now. We will start saving, but in the meantime, I was wondering about clinical trials. I know lots of you on here have participated in a free trial study and I wanted to ask how you found it??
Thanks!!

Hi Amy.
I found mine on the goverment website. It is alot to go thru (some are not even in the US) but there is a contact person at the end of each entry. Search of: "Infertility" - List Results - ClinicalTrials.gov Also this infertility clinic in Houston participates in clinical trials often. If you go to their website, pull down clinical trials from the services menu. They only have one now but it might be worth checking with them often. Infertility Specialists Houston Texas Good Luck!!

Like Amy said, there's the national registry and there are the clinic websites. One weakness in the clinic websites is that they can advertise there only if an IRB said they could, and that is not always the case. So it may be even better to just call the clinic and ask if they have any studies ongoing or upcoming. They can always talk, even if they cannot advertise. Studies will often be mentioned on discussion boards, and sometimes a drug manufacturer (Ferring, Schering-Plough, Serono) will advertise them on their websites. |
