Period on Day 3 of IVF cycle??? HELP
I've completed 33 days of BCP but AF never showed up. On 10/25 I had an U/S and bloodwork and received the OK to start my protocol---Flare Lupron. I started with 20 units of Lupron on Sunday evening and then have been doing 20 units of Lupron in the AM and 20 units of Lupron in the PM along with a stimulant shot last night and tonight (300 iu of Gonal-F and 2 vials of Menopur). I had some spotting on Sunday and Monday but tonight I have full on period and cramps.
Has this ever happened to anyone? Should I be concerned? I am going to the Dr. in the morning for bloodwork and will ask about this then but am wondering if there is any advice to help calm me tonight. Thank you for any advice.

Did you only take the active BCP's? stopping the pills can cause a period - I think my old clinic called it the Lupron period.

I took active BCP's for 33 days and stopped last Wednesday on 10/21.
|

There's no problem. The bcp's were delaying your period. I've gotten periods at the beginning of all my cycles. The Lupron is only for suppressing your ovaries. The other drugs stimulate you to produce many (hopefully) follicles. Good luck on this scary yet exciting journey!

Thanks for the advice. I went to the Dr. today who told me that my baseline work was at a really low level. They think my blood work today will probably be low as well. She said to cross my fingers that I can catch up this week. Last cycle was cancelled because I oversupressed and didn't stimulate well...feels like it could happen again...but I hope not!!!

Are they gonna change your meds to try to help you catch up? I hope things change in a hurry!
I was suppressed a little too much on my first cycle, but we didn't cancel. I got a bfn. Then this one, I was on lupron again but only 10cc twice a day. I got more eggs plus my bfp!

Apparently (but not suprisingly) my estrogen levels were low today. I'm supposed to stay on protocol and hope that the next three days has a positive result.
I asked if I could change medicine or up my dosage but apparently I'm on the maximum dosage (300 iu of Gonal-F and 150 iu of Menopur). This is exactly what happened last time (but different protocol) and I'm so worried that my cycle will be cancelled again. I'm heartbroken. I'm trying to stay positive because things could turn around---but it looks like I need a miracle.

Has anyone else had luck with their IVF cycle when they started off with lower estrogen levels?
