Hello ladies,

I'm currently in the 2WW for my IUI#4. This will be the last one. If it doesn't work out we will be moving on to IVF which will most likely be in January of 2010. I'm really excited about the next step. My RE said for my age I have about 50-50 chance that I will get pregant and deliver a baby. Well my IVF consult should be about 3 weeks from now...

to all the ladies! I'm so glad that I won't be going through this alone and that we will have each other to support along the way!

skyhope i really really hope you get your bfp this time...however i am glad we have each other for support just in case as well...good luck

rose some dr.s use bcp to calm everything down before all the meds you will be taking for ivf(i know how strange it seems but they did it with my injectible iui cycles as well) some docs also use the bcp to manipulate your cycle to help plan around holidays etc...my doc one time only had me take 10 days of pills the second time it was the full 3 weeks and then wait for af to start...i'm not sure if your first appt for the ivf is to fall during your af then it will be a baseline u/s and b/w i would imagine but i don't know for sure yet...good luck to you

tippy sorry i didn't realize you were still waiting on the results of the last procedure so sorry it was negative...i too thank god for ivf...that the option is available elsewise the world might be a sadder without that hope...i did read about the jewelry and no perfume or polish or deoderant ...jeez they are just cutting my stomach right...lol...

yeah gina a friend from work just told me over the computer to just relax and let it happen when she asked why i would be away from work for surgery...mistake tellin her lol...then she told me she actually got pregnant after a lap becuz of a blockage in her tube and an infection....hmmm and i don't need the surgery you just said you had becuz....i'm confused here..hi pot meet kettle...i know most people mean well i really think that but sometimes you just realize they don't think before they open the mouth....good luck girl

lw just wanted to say thank you for sharing and the advice...they want my hydro gone since i've already had an unexplained chemical...they don't think that would have been becuz of they hydro but they don't know for sure ...they do know that my tube is blocked at the end closest to the ovary and the hsg showed the fluid flowing all the way to the end and then stopping so the hydro in my case would definitely spill the fluid back into the uterus and possibly cause the embryo to not implant...my re also said the fluid from a hydro is inflammatory and that it is also thought to be toxic to sperm which could be another negative factor...it is more that if my insurance will cover the surgery to remove the hydro but i have to cover the full cost of ivf...well i would rather have the surgery to remove the hydro just in case and pay out 10k for ivf than not have the hydro removed and wonder if that is why i got a negative after spending that kind of money...i don't know if that made sense lol...i just want to have the best odds while trying to be cost effective i guess...so sorry you had an infection after the surgery...just too many things to worry about here...i do know that if i can talk my dh into it i think we will be better off doing the shared risk program for ivf...i think we will get pregnant with ivf i really do...i just don't know that we will be one of the lucky ones to have it happen on the first try and i also think that we may not have the greatest quality embies to freeze becuz of my pcos...and if for whatever awful reason it wouldn't work at all at least we get most of our money back and i definitely would look into adoption at that point...ugh sorry for the novel here...too much time to think about everything i guess...

hugs and lots of luck in the next few months ladies...

Can I join in too? This is going to be my first IVF, so this is very new to me. We are doing IVF with ICSI due to MFI. I'm on BCP now, and on Nov. 17th will be doing all the rest of our IVF workup. Bloodwork for both of us, SHG, cultures, and the injections class with the nurse, and then sign all the consent forms. WOW, all that in one day, I think I will be mentally drained after all that.

Thank you for starting this board. I was on the December board, but just found out today that I will be doing the actual IVF procedure in January (I think it had to do with my cycle timing and the clinic being closed over Christmas).

I have had my initial ultrasound and blood work done (today). The doctor also started me on my bcp today, so I guess I'm finally getting started.

One thing (of about a million) that I didn't understand - if the clinic is closed over the holidays, and you are already taking the drugs to ovulate or whatever - won't that mess up the timing? I couldn't figure that one out.

Anyway, I still have to do my "regular" blood tests (HIV and whatever else they test for). I also need to have an HSG done (so looking forward to that).

MrsRidge - I worry about things going wrong and the cycle being canceled. Here's to hoping everything goes right for your cycle this time!

tiffany - I hope your lap went well today!

dylansmommy - good luck to you tomorrow!

minniemouse - I'm actually envious that they have you doing all of that stuff in one day. I feel so disorganized. I never know what's going to happen one day to another - I'm just hoping for the best

rose1221 - I am so right there with you about being confused. It's all a little overwhelming.

Ok, I know I'm missing some of you, but I wanted to stop on and say hello! I bet this board will be hopping as more of us get further into the process.

Just checking in to say hello and welcome to all the new girls that have joined. Our group is really growing, it will be nice in the end of January when we are hopefully all reading about each others BFP's!!

I am happy to be one step closer to my 5th IVF in January. My insurance change form was submitted and processed yesterday. It ended up being more than double the cost we thought it was going to be which will be really tough on 1 income. Aetna premium is $360/month plus now we will have co-pays on top of the already stressful 3 hour roundtrip drive 3x a week to the RE at 6am...lots of gas ... but we both decided to go ahead with it otherwise we will never be able to have a 2nd child. Also taking into consideration that I am 35 with poor quality embies, I feel like it's now or never and these will be our last 3 chances. Praying the RJ/BP does the trick, I have been on them since September. Soooooo, new insurance takes effect January 3rd!!! Woohoooo!!

GL to everyone in the preparations for our January cycles. to everybody!!!!!

Hi all!

I just wanted to check in! I am keeping my fingers crossed that I am good to go for January.....having some billing issues with my one clinic and deciding to take the trip up to NYU to get a second opinion because I have multiple problems and they are 80% covered unlike my current doctor.
Its nice to see so many more joining, I am sure that as it gets closer to the holidays we are all gonna really need each others support!!!
I will let you know what NYU has to say and hopefully I like them enough to switch and if not can hopefully figured out billing with my current doctor! Staying positive even though every day I wait feels like another year goes by, ugh! Talk to all of you soon...Best Laur

Just thought I would stop and say hi. We are still on track for January. We have our education class next week and then we wait to start. I have been talking a lot with my boss about my work schedule and it looks like it is all going to work out and I will be able to have the time of ER and ET and the days in between off. She is actually allowing me to take the last 2 weeks of January off altogether and then add myself in when it works with the schedule, even working afternoons. My work schedule was one of my biggest concerns with all of this so I am grateful that it seems to be working out. Wishing good luck and baby dust to all the January IVF'rs

to all sorry no specifics having trouble concentrating on the percoset i guess...surgery went well today...i am still in shock i guess i found out my left hydrosalpinx wasn't...he wrote down since i was out of it...but it says my tube was not blocked and the right is still good so i still have both my tubes...maybe it was a spasm...now i don't know if we shall have to move straight to ivf instead of trying iui one more time becuz they have such a hard time keeping me from overstim...and maybe that is why none of my previous cycles worked lol...maybe the man upstairs said this girl wants one and since both tubes are open superovulation would likely bring about super multiples lol....wow...my throat hurts A LOT! from the breathing tube makes it hard to swallow anything and i have the weird shoulder pain from the gas but the pain meds are helping with the rest so that is good...it took me twice as long in recovery as they thought...1 hour turned into 2 and a half....and it hurts to pee now lol...sorry tmi...all the little things are worse than the surgery i guess i'm tryin to say....tiffany hope you are doing well and best of luck to all of you ladies hopefully i feel better tomorrow and can come back and re read everyones posts ...comprehension right now not so great lol....hugs ladies

Hi All,
I would like to be a part of the Jan 2010 IVF cycle too. I am changing insurances. Found out that my company pays for IVF. Until now I was on my Husband's insurance and they covered nada. I am not new to the IVF world. I had a failed IVF and FET before. Hoping 2010 will bring me good luck and everyone else too.

miracle a big to you and wonderful news that your company insurance provides ivf coverage...that can take some of the stress away from the process for you...best of luck!

kristen that is wonderful news that your boss is willing to work with you on your schedule...so hard to find someone you can talk to and who realize you have a life outside of the work place...best of luck to you!

lw hope you can get your billing figured out wow 80 covered i would definitely go with the other place as long as you like the people as well...i think having some of the money issues covered can help a lot with the stresses that come along with ivf...not all stress but every little bit counts...good luck!

gina good luck to you with all that driving and the added costs....we can only hope and pray you get your bfp and soon only have to worry about trips to your ob/gyn...good luck!

speffer thank you and good luck with all the tests and hoops coming up for your cycle lol..feels like jumping thru hoops sometimes...good luck with your hsg as well...i didn't think it was too bad when i had mine and that was before the lap...now i think i would go back to do another hsg lol no prob...i don't know how the scheduling can work for the holidays i know some people have their cycles shut down or put off for the holidays and others may just take some extra bcp to extend past the longer holidays....ask your re what they are planning ahead of time that way you don't have any surprises and good luck to you!

mrsridge good luck to you on your jan cycle hopefully it goes better than your last attempt!

afm ladies still sore and tired gonna go get a shower and try to get these bandages off without opening up the wounds....ugh! it hurts to swallow solid food so i thought chicken noodle soup would be good....NOT the salt in it burns burns burns my throat lol...the surgical center called to see how i was doing i forgot they were gonna call and had to hurry to answer the phone lol that was the worst part of my day so far..hope everyone enjoys their upcoming weekend...i have off for the next two weeks due to a shutdown of my not so stable company and don't go back until the beginning of dec...life is just a big surprise sometimes and you gotta learn to try and roll with it so it doesn't hurt so much!
