Oh yay, i've been waiting for someone to start a January thread. I am going to be doing my 5th IVF in January (4th for #2). We're on a break after 3 failed IVF's TTC#2. The break is just because the insurance only allows 3 lifetime attempts so we are switching to the only other insurance offered that covers IVF and that won't take effect until Jan. 1st. My DS was conceived after 2yrs TTC. He was our BFP from our 1st IVF after many failed IUI's, clomid, yadda yadda. So, I will be going to my RE in December to get on my Provera so that I get AF in the first week of January and we'll jump right into it again. Looking forward to getting to know everyone who will be going down the IVF road in January with us. I hope there are lots of BFP's to ring in the new year!! GL

Hey ladies! Thought I might join you! I'm not 100% sure we'll start in January, but that is my best guess.

A little about me (most is in my sig):

I'm in the 2ww for my 4th IUI attempt. I'm hoping and praying that this is our month; however, if it is not, we are moving on to IVF. If that is the case, I am assuming January may be when we start.

I have endometriosis and had a Lap done in June 2008. Since then, I have had another cyst develop which needs to be gone before IVF. So if this cycle doesn't work, I will schedule another Lap for sometime in November. I haven't done any lab work for IVF that the clinic recommends, so hopefully all of that can be done after my Lap and in Dec. Which would put us starting around Jan.

I'm happy to have others in the same boat as me, even though it would be better if none of us had to go through this! Question for you both... what kind of prep work is required before the IVF? I know I'll find this out when I go in for an inital consult, but I just want to be somewhat prepared. Thanks in advance!

I will most likely be starting in January as well. This will be my first lVF after 2 failed vasectomy reversals. We have our consult appointment on Monday and hope to have more idea of a schedule after that. We would love to do it sooner but hubby's FSA that will cover a portion of the costs doesn't restart until Jan 1. . Good luck to all of you

Tiffany- The only thing I had to do was a lot of bloodwork and DH also had to have some done. Then I had to take an IVF class for the injections, which I actually hopped in on way before I did my 1st IVF when I was only doing IUI w/injectibles. That was the only class that they had scheduled. Then you and DH sign consent forms before every IVF cycle. That was it, not sure if other practices do more or less. When you first hear all of the different meds and shots you have to do and the schedule you will be overwhelmed but it really isn't that bad once you start and it goes fast. GL!!

Hi girls,

We MIGHT be doing our next IVF in January also, but we are waiting on a couple of things before we know for sure.

Before my first IVF I had to get lots of bloodwork done, plus a vaginal exam and ultrasound, and an HSG (the worst part of the whole experience!).

I'm so excited to have you ladies! My bloodwork came back great and according up my RE ( post hysteroscopy) I have a "perfect" uterus!

We, too, will be trying IVF in January and are currently working through our bloodwork and will begin prep-classes in December to learn about cycle, meds and injections. What an unbelieveable and emotional journey.

Hi there all,

I too will be starting my first IVF at the end of December....ER and ET are looking at the 3rd to 4th week in January. I have been on the December thread in order to not feel alone in this process and I am so happy to know that others will be taking this journey too! My labs are closed for Christmas too and open 1/12 so I will start Lupron and stims beforehand and then have both procedures after they re-open. Its all I can think about some days and yet I know its almost around the corner and I am terrified. My DH and I have our orientation and bloodwork on 11/12 and then we will have our injections class in early December. I can't wait to here how you are all doing throughout this stressful and exciting time!

Hi Ladies! I would like to join you also. We will be starting our 3rd IVF cycle in January. We were successful with our 2nd IVF cycle, and we have a 15 month old son.

We have finished all of our pre-IVF testing. I am ready to get started now, but it would be better for us to start after the holidays.

Wow! I'm excited there are a lot of us going through this around the same time. To be honest, I'm a little unaware of all the terms and acroyms and schedule that we go on. Hopefully, once I have my consult with the RE, I'll get a better handle on things.

Gina - thanks for the info... that really helps! That sounds like what the clinic kind of said also. There would be some blood tests we would both have to have, but the only thing we have to do that is timed was some sonogram thing. haha, I don't really remember. I've already had an HSG, but it's something else.

I'm still not giving up hope on this last cycle.. I'll be POAS on Nov. 5... but if it does fail, I'm excited for this next step! THIS IS OUR TIME LADIES!!!

hi ladies...i was hoping someone would start a jan ivf thread....been thinking this was coming for a while...we will attempt one more iui cycle(pretty sure) after my surgery next week...gonna have a lap to remove the blocked tube and a hysteroscopy...hope all goes well...i also won a voucher at my clinic for free stims for an ivf cycle...since we have some stim left from the last cycle/canceled cycle we will use that in dec...and then the jan ivf cycle we will use the cert...still don't know wether to do a single cycle with my clinic and hope we have some for a fet or spend the 20,000 off the bat for a shared risk cycle...husband says single cycle ...i have the break down of cost from my clinic from my appt today and will have to add it all up(this will probably all be out of pocket)...just hope my insurance will cover my surgery next week...will find out by the end of this week...good luck ladies hope to see some very long awaited new arrivals in 2010...
