Heart chicken soup for IVFers:)

Hi, All.
I haven't been here for a while even though I am currently going through my 3rd and final IVF cycle - just trying not to think about it much But I do want to share a story since it just warmed my heart.

I have a new boss (male) now at work and I had been dreading having to explain why I would have to be out of office so often with such short notices (in the past I've always gone for the truth because I didn't want my employer to think that I was slacking or something). But my boss totally surprised me with his sensitivity and understanding that it almost made me cry:
When I found out that I will have to be on the 3-day bed rest when my project is hitting the major milestone which would require me me to send updates almost immediately, I offered to do at least the very minimum at home but he just wouldn't hear of it. He said that I should just focus on resting for those three days and he insisted on finding a backup person to do the task or doing it himself to cover for me if necessary. I mean, wow! I knew he was a nice guy but I certainly did not expect that much.
Also my boss's boss (also male) has been really good about this whole thing - asking how I am doing and saying good luck every time I have to sneak out for my ultrasound/bloodwork appointment as he sits right next to me. And another coworker of mine (female, who had no trouble getting pregnant and has recently given birth, I might add!) actually cried for me when I told her the negative result on the last cycle!

I know I've encountered my share of insensitive comments/attitudes toward infertility in the past, but I am so glad to see that it can also bring the best in some people.

Sounds like a great place to work in with co-workers and bosses like that! I hope this is THE cycle for you.

Oh, and the title of your thread REALLY made me start craving some chicken noodle soup right now. I know what I'll be having for dinner tonight now, thank you very much!

Thank you all for the positive comments. It makes me so happy to be able to share this good feeling no matter what comes out of this struggle!

Koshveily - I know! It just makes me be thankful for what I have now.

ara79 - Thank you for the well wish! But did I put the wrong date for ER?? It's actually tomorrow (just fixed the signature). Sorry!

Sarabela - I noticed that you recently had the BFP! Congrats!! And enjoy your cravings
