A BFP, but not so big

I finally got my BFP, something I haven't seen in 8 years!

On 8dp3dt, I POAS and got a faint positive. I was skeptical that it could be an evaporation line that came too early, so I POAS again today at 9dp3dt and I got another faint positive within 3 minutes (only slightly darker than the one before it). Both results were very noticeable, but still faint or not as dark as the control line.

I'm worried since it wasn't as dark as I expected it. For you successful ladies who take HPT daily before beta, how much darker did the line get day by day?

I used First Response HPT with FMU.

Anyone got faint postives but still get a strong beta number and a successful pregnancy? Any input would help! Thanks.

Hi missthuyn,

First congratulations on your BFP line!!

I can only speak from a friends experience and tell you that she to did a pregnancy test and got a very very faint line. She had a very successful pregnancy and now a beautiful baby boy!

Go and have a blood test and have it confirmed by your doc as soon as possible.

Good Luck

well I can tell you that with my FET I POAS twice and saw a light so light I was sure it was an evaporation line and it never did get darker. My first number was 21 and I now have a wonderful DD who will be 18 month old soon. I think my body just does something different with the pregnancy hormone than most womans as even with my IVF (which ended in miscarriage) my number was only 50 and my tests were super light the two times I took them. It is possible to have a good out come from a low beta number or even a light positive on an HPT. Good luck to you!

My lines were never very dark at all!! In fact I was momentarily driving myself insane, convincing myself they were getting LIGHTER and that it was a chemical pregnancy. Darn near drove myself mad. In any event, they got slightly darker but never anywhere CLOSE to the control line. My beta at 12dp5dt was 152. So I would say congrats and to try not to read too much into it (easier said than done, I know, especially considering that I did a horrible job following my own advice.) If you go to peeonastick.com, the site says over and over that line color is not a indication of "how" pregnant you are--if a line is present, you're pregnant. So YAY! Congrats!

I poas 12dp5dt and got a distinct line, the next morning I did it again and it looked lighter, this of course made me freak! So then I switched to the digital ones, they are a fabulous cause they just say pregnant, takes a lot of the worry out of you mind. As long as it keeps saying pregnant you'll be able to put your mind at ease.

Good luck and congrats on the !!!!!!!

Congratulations !!! I am sorry, but I have no personal previous experiences of s.

I am sorta going through the same thing. I believe we had ET on the same day (10/25), so we are both 9dp3dt. I have moderate OHSS. My RE said to go to the emergency department. They ran a beta, and it came back positive. However, it was only 9.6. This morning I POAS and got a faint, but immediate, . My OB/GYN just ran another beta hcg, but I won't know what the number is until late this afternoon or first thing in the morning.

Hoping that we both see s in the morning!

For me, the first day I saw a hint of a line, that's exactly what it was...a hint! But since I had gotten a clear BFN the day before, I got really excited! I had to go for bloodwork that morning and my nurse totally shot me down when I told her. She said it must be a mistake because it was too early. The next day, I took another and it too was faint, but just a little darker than the one before. This time it was my husband who discouraged me. So to convince myself, I went out and bought a digital. Within a couple of minutes, I got a "Pregnant".

So I say what the others say, if you have a line, you're pregnant! Congratulations!!!

I started POAS 7dp5dt and it was faint. The next day was just maybe slightly darker but not much. That same afternoon I did another and it was the same as the first one- faint. My beta on 9dp5dt was 252 and I'm pregnant with twins. So try not to read much into how dark the line is. I took another one on 13dp5dt and it was finally as dark as the control line and beta was over 1800 at that point.

Congrats!! You are pregnant.

Judy- Congrats I am so excited for you! A line is a line is a line-- With my FET I started POAS at 11DPO and got the faintest of faint lines on FRER. They got a little darker but NEVER as dark as the control line until several days past my beta (which was at 16DPO). With my FET, my first beta was only 44....

So right now if you took a beta I bet your # is in the single digits or low single digits. The FRER says that they do not even register a HPT until your HCG is over 25, but I was getting ++ and my beta had to be in the single digits at 11DPO, those tests are pretty sensitive.

I know it is going to be hard but hang in there. If the line is getting darker that means the # is going up. Don't switch brands of HPT right now, you can get a different strength of line between various brands and heck even from sticks from the same brand. If it makes you feel better get a couple of digitals, seeing the words pregnant will thrill you I am sure.

Again Congrats-_ I am so excited for you!

Thanks for the responses! I'm trying to shake off my nerves, but I know the worrying never stops. Now that I'm pregnant according to the HPT, I just hope it is a viable pregnancy!

VintageMonkey: Yah for stimming soon! With Zouves, right? You know after ER, I regret doing this protocol because it left me with less eggs at ER! I was devastated, but then it worked! So goodluck to you!!!
