I don't know your history, but I do not think because you did not have success on your earlier cycles mean you should give up. That is a very personal decision. However, protocol and different REs can great impact whether or not any given cycle is going to work. It may just have taken a while to find the right protocol and right RE for you.

Hello all. I'm new to this forum and going for my first appointment today to discuss how/when we'll start IVF (have had 5 failed IUI cycles).

Houston, I can tell you I have a friend who's friend did four cycles, considered giving up, did just one more and now has a beautiful little boy who turned 1 over the summer. So, it can happen! I think it depends on so many things. But only you and your husband can make that decision for sure. I also know someone who gave up and a few months later, got pregnant naturally! You just never know what's in store for you!

Much & to all!
Dianne

Fubabies (dogs)- Parker, Wolfy & Spencer

March 09 1st Cycle - Clomid 100 mg (Dr increased because of blocked tube)
Apr 09 2nd Cycle - Clomid 100 mg & IUI
May 09 3rd Cycle - Clomid 100 mg, Bravelle, HCG & IUI
Month of June skipped because of travel
July 09 - Lap surgery found some endometriosis and R tube blocked inside, but no cause identified (possibly born that way) RE recommends IVF
July 25th - Things are on hold right now as my husband's hours at work have been cut back and we worry about the costs involved right now.
Nov 17th - We're back in the game! Decided we'll do our 1st IVF cycle. Going today for some blood work, u/s and will get all my prescriptions! We're going for broke (for real!)

& to all

Only you can make this decision. Scientifically- sure! Don't give up! It's possible. Particularly with trying new protocols/ RE's. I know some women even travel far to go to a new clinic which is highly regarded and some of them I know test out for all kinds of things.

On a spiritual/ emotional level- only you can decide with your partner how much you can handle.

On a financial level- whole other story. I know if I personally had 6 cycles covered, I'd go that far. But I don't so for me, the end may need to come down to $. I hope we don't have to make that decision.

If you do decide to hop on the bandwagon in December- we have an active board so feel free to join us.

I hope you get your soon. Take care.
