1st beta around July 1st, anyone?

Hello! I just had my Embyro Transfer this morning, and my first Beta is scheduled for July 1st.

So, I was wondering if anyone else is on the same track...if so, let's survive the two week wait together!

They transferred two embryos, one "good" 8 cell one and one "fair" 7 cell one...both are happily nestled in now, I hope. I am doing 48 hours of strict bed rest--only up for the bathroom--and then will be mellow the next week...

To us all!

Xoxo,

Laura

I just got back from my ET, my beta is scheduled for 6/30. I was told to "take it easy and rest for a few days". No bed rest for me. I actually ran to 2 stores and had lunch after my ET. Oops, I'm resting now, does that count?

Totally counts :-) I am "on bed" and awaiting my husband's return with Thai food (my favorite!)...already a little bored. We have a huge stack of Netflix movies, which will hopefully help. We transferred 2...bout you?
Is this your first go round? What stores did you go to? Hopefully somewhere fun :-)

Oh ya, I'm in bed with my iPad, iPhone, and reruns of Greys Anatomy.

We transferred 2 as well. I wish I knew how to upload pictures on here, I got pictures of my embryos. Yep, first IVF, we did 2 IUIs previously.

We stopped by the Coach outlet and I got a new purse and a messenger bag that I plan to use as a diaper bag . They told me I could bring it back if I needed to, but I dont plan on needing to We also headed over to the Hurley store for dh.

I loveloveLOVE Grey's Anatomy! I watched most of the sixth season in the days after my egg retrieval. I wish the seventh was out already. You won't need to return the bag. :-) upload pics of that, too, once you figure out how!

Ok, this has been a pain in the butt, haha. I *think* I figured out how to upload attachments, but I don't know how to post the pictures directly to the thread, so this is the best I could do. Oh, and it won't let me add more than 1 attachment so I have to make 2 different posts. So here goes, this is the picture of 6 out of 8 embryos.

Oh it worked! yah! It didn't show the picture in the "preview post". Ok, never mind my previous ramble. I had to crop the crap out of this picture, it wouldn't let me upload the whole thing. So this is part of the messenger bag.

I would love to get in on this thread! Hope I am not barging in!
I had my ET this morning. 2 nice looking blasts! This is my first IVF. I was supposed to do an IUI but responded too well to the puregon! But this is even better than IUI!
My beta is scheduled for July 4th because the 1st of July is a holiday and the lab is closed.
I will try not to POAS but it's going to be hard! Okay...I lied...I will POAS but will try to wait at least 7 days!

BabyRN...I am jealous! I only got to drive by the Coach Outlet today. Good idea about the messenger bag/diaper bag....I like it! By the way, I have pictures of my embryos/kids that look just like yours!

Laura...I like your plans for the next week. Good luck to you! We're PUPO!

Yes, please join in. I POAS today to make sure the trigger was out of my system and I got a So it seems its out. Since I'm such a POAS addict, I will probably start testing at 5dp5dt. I'm starting to feel guilty about going shopping after the ET, I hope I didn't screw anything up.

Thanks for uploading those...impressed by your techie skills, too. :-) The embabies AND the bag both look wonderful! The bag is really fun! How are you feeling? did you find out yet if there will be any to freeze?

I am just finishing up my 48 hours of bed rest and finally showered this morning (glorious!) but I feel awful...super nauseus, (sp?) and still have stomach pains and cramps in my abdomen whenever I eat or move too much, or cough...you get the picture. Anyway. I wish I was feeling a little better...all of the side effects listed on the progesterone list--I seem to have them. I really hope my body can adjust to this in a few days. Anyway.

I hope you are having a good day!

You did NOT screw anything up! That is my most expert and highly unqualified opinion. :-) but really. You being happy and relaxed hopefully helped, more than anything. Yesterday, during bed rest, I compulsively googled about things that you can "do" to "screw anything up" and this article made me feel better...

Dr.Malpani's Blog: Putting the myth of bed rest after IVF to rest

It is written a few years ago, yes, and has some grammar issues, yes, but the logic makes sense and was worded nicely...an interesting take, at least. I was worrying all day about the things I was doing affecting the outcome...and...anyway. See what you think. I am keeping fingers crossed for all of us!

Xoxo,

Laura

Thanks Laura and BabyRN for letting me join in!

BabyRN: I agree with Laura and I had read that same article after I thought that I had screwed things up after the ET. (I went to Winners and American Eagle.:P )
I reassured myself by thinking what if this was not IVF but conceived naturally. Some woman have done FAR worse things than shop during the implantation stage not knowing they were pregnant. And my RE and nurse didn't even advise bedrest for me...I was up 5 mins. after transfer and on my way. What brand of tests are you using to test out the trigger?

Laura: July 1st is a holiday because I am in Canada. I actually live in a tiny town where all bloodwork gets shipped out so really I won't even find out if its a + beta or not until probably 2 or 3 days after July 4th. It sucks! Hope you are feeling better. Are you taking the progesterone suppositories or the shot?

I am like a crazy woman googling. I gotta' stop!

Thanks for the reassurance, I will read the article in a little bit. You know, I was thinking of that too. What if this was wasn't IVF, the woman wouldn't be resting, she would have no idea what was going on in her body. I've been taking it easy and being lazy but still doing my normal things.

I'm feeling fine, some cramping here and there which kind of freaks me out but otherwise I'm fine. I almost feel like is going to start. I think I did have a mild case of OHSS after my ER and I felt terrible the second day but I started drinking a ton of gatorade and eating pickles and I felt better the next day.

What type of progesterone are you guys taking? With my IUIs I did pills, taken my mouth. Now I was prescribed PIO and let me tell you, a daily IM injection is such a pain the @ss, literally, and thats exactly what I told my RE. He said that I can take vaginal suppositories (he gave me some samples) but they are not proving to be any more pleasant. He actually said that I can do a combination of the 2, so I may just do that.

So my supply of pregnancy tests are pretty much internet cheapies but they measure as little as 10miu of HCG. So they are supposed to be super sensitive. I'll probably by a digital to have on hand too.

I haven't heard from my RE yet about whether any of my embryos made it to freeze. He was supposed to call yesterday, and he is usually pretty good about calling, so if I don't hear from him by 1200 I will give the office a call. I'm really curious if we have any left.
