Hello everyone. I started my first cycle of IVF, before this I did 3 rounds of IUI. My husband and I both checked out fine and they don't know what's wrong with us.

I do 150 Gonal F in the morning and 150 Menopur at night. This is my 4th day of doing the injections. I can do the Gonal F myself however the Menopur stings too much for me to do it myself.

On day 2 of the injections I already have bloatedness and my back is sore and I get twinges down there. Also what's bothering me now is that my lower back tail bone area feels sore and crampy. Does anyone else out there feel the same when on Gonal F and Menopur? Any comments would help. Thanks for reading my post. Babydust to all!

I am supposed to start stims tomorrow (first ivf)pending bloodwork tomorrow am. I also just finished 3 iui attempts with no luck . I will be doing gonal f 225 and menopur 150 with ganirelix few days in (antagonist cycle). I only know the gonal f deal. i am a little nerovus about the menopur, as I heard it burns. On other forums, it seems people ice the area first before menopur. I will have to give it to myself, as I will be at work some evenings, and will not be asking my co-workers .
I was going to start two days ago, but my lining was too thick, and I needed to "bleed more".
I am 34- I have high FSH

Don't worry too much at the menopur. It stings but for like 30 seconds. After my husband gives me the menopur injection I just lay down.

I went in to get my bw/us today and the doctor said everything looks fine and that I am responding well to the meds. He didn't give me any numbers (well he never does). They called me back this afternoon to tell me to continue the same dosage and to go back to see them on Friday.

I am at work right not but am really uncomfortable because of the bloatedness and my tailbone hurting. I wish there was a bed in the office.

Oh we are the same age, I am 34 as well turning 35 this year.

We can be IVF buddies!

happy to be buddies!!! You are going to be the more experienced buddy, as you are a few days ahead of me . I pray that I actually start tomorrow. It is good that your doc wants you to stay the course, as it sounds you are responding appropriately. Not sure why your tailbone would hurt, but maybe try icing it???

Yay!!! I've been debating for almost 2 years about joining this forum. We have been trying to conceive for 2 years. How long have you been trying?

I'm just a few days ahead, will let you know what to watch out for. What CD are you on?

Well maybe not my tailbone itself but my tailbone area and the front kinda hurts and is uncomfortable.

I have been trying for a little over a year, but I was more sensitive to the concept of infertility, as another family member had it. So, I was anal about trying to figure out when I would ovulate, but I just couldnt figure it out (even using the clearblue fertility monitor)....so, I brought myself into OB to get tested, and she referred me immediately to RE once she saw my crappy bloodwork on cd 3 this past summer. I am currently cd3 of my cycle, and I was supposed to start yesteray (cd2), but progesterone still too high and lining too thick. My body doesn't believe in doing things smoothly.
Where are you located?? I am in NYC

I haven't told anyone about my infertility, I'm embarassed by it. No one in my family has it. Everyone around me was getting pregnant! I was at a baby shower and there were 5 pregnant girls!!!!

Trust me, I know what you mean about your body not cooperating! When I was on clomid during my 3 IUI I actually started to produce less and less eggs.

I am in NYC as well. What clinic do you go to?

Don't be embarrassed. It is obviously much more common than a lot of people think. All of my married friends and family members have children also. It is beyond challenging!!!
Being in an aunt is awesome, don't get me wrong (I have 15 nieces/nephews) ....I feel like I work so that I can spoil all of them , but I am hoping it is my turn now.

I know I shouldn't be embarassed but I can imagine people thinking that there is something wrong with me or my husband if we ever say we have trouble conceiving.

It's been pretty hard going through this without anyone to talk to, that's why i join this forum. I'm glad we connected!

Wow 15!!! I have 5 neices/nephews. I know what you mean, it's nice to be an aunt but would love to experience being a mother. Hopefully this is our cycle!

OMG I go to RMA NY. Who is your doctor? I never really did my research on them, I went there because they accept my insurance.

I go to Mukherjee. He is really great and sweet... Very calming. RMA NY is supposed to be top notch. How about u?? Who do you see?? Next thing we will find out is that we live next door to each other lol. We probably have been on the 10th floor at the same time

Is he the Indian guy? I see dr. Sandler. He's good but doesn't say too much. Seems like they are always rushed but then again they see a lot of people in an hour and a half.

Good to know I picked a top notch clinic. Yes we probably seen each other before!

Are they starting you on gonal f and menopur as well?

yes, those are my meds as well...i will also be adding in ganirelix at some point. They all run around quickly, but I think that is the norm from what I here. It is too funny that we both will be spending lots of time there over next few weeks. I wish us much luck!!!

How are your follies?? How many??? Size??? E2 levels???

i hate the wait!!! good luck!!!! they never tell me any information, they just tell me what to take. i go back tomorrow again for bw/us. let me know what the nurse says.

i went in yesterday and the doctor said that everything looks like it's coming along fine and that i'm responding well to the meds.

took the gonal f shot this morning and some liquid came out but i left it in there for 5 seconds. so my advice is to leave it in there for like 10 seconds before pulling it out. i usually leave it in there for 10 seconds but was in a rush this morning.

You can ask them the info if you want. They won't keep it from you. I often speak with the nurse after the sono to get my number of follicles/ sizes, and then later ask for the blood levels.
That is only if you want to know...truthfully, you are probably better off not asking, as maybe it makes you more relaxed through the process
