Opinions please on HPT results

I am looking for some opinions on HPT results. I started testing on 5dp5dt and got a VERY faint positive. I have tested every day since and gotten faint positives (didn't seem to get much darker). This morning and yesterday morning (so 9dp5dt & 10dp5dt), I used accu-clear tests and the test was positive as soon as the urine passed through the window. I thought this seemed WAY too fast to be real so I tried another test with New Choice brand and it was so faint I could almost say it was not there. So...I did one final one...this time with FRRR..again it was positive as soon as the urine passed through the window (and it was just now that I did it so definitely not FMU). I know I am playing with fire with POAS so much and I am completely obsessed with it and need to stop but what is done is done and I am going out of my mind waiting for my beta on Tuesday. I am wondering if any of you ladies had positive tests that showed us SO quickly or if you think that this must be a defect in the tests???? Any opinions (good or bad) are greatly appreciated!!! I so want it to be a but am cautiously optimistic (at best) at this point!!

I've only done IUIs and have not had an IVF yet. However, with my 2nd pregnancy I took a HPT (in the afternoon/evening) only 6 days after the IUI and I got a faint BFP and it stuck. I would think with IVF you would be 'further along' than with IUI so the results may be even more accurate. Try not to obsess to much (easier said than done I know) and just enjoy the moment. Good luck and I'll be your BFP stays!

Both times I got pg, once via IUI and once via IVF I POAS and got FAINT FAINT BFPs starting at 10DPO.

All tests are a little different, but the reality is "a line is a line" no matter how dark. You are PG! I was obsessed myself with the HPTs, in the morning, at night, etc. It's exciting. They will get darker as you go along.

I will tell you that mine never got REALLY dark, and of course I stopped after the betas.

Congrats!

FRERs are very reliable, and it's next to impossible that all the different brands of tests you used would be defective. Some are just more sensitive than others, and FRER happens to be one of the more sensitive ones. I think you can trust that the results you are getting are accurate.

Congrats!! It doesn't matter how dark or light the line is. A line is a line. You are pregnant! When I was pregnant with DD, my first test at about 11dpo was so faint that my DH and I had to look really hard to see it under a big lamp. I took a million different brands of pregnancy tests at round 14dpo, and the lines had gotten much darker. I took the digital ones too because I liked the reassurance of seeing the words "pregnant." I even made my DH pee on one, and then I peed on a different one that was the same brand (DH of course got a negative)

There is no way that the tests you have taken could all be defective. However, I do understand your concern, which is why I made my DH pee on a pregnancy test If I were you, I would take a digital HPT so that you can see the words "pregnant." It was really reassuring for me and DH to actually see those words.

Congrats again on your pregnancy!!!

Thank you ladies for your replies and support. I think my first post was a bit misleading. I definitely did not think all the tests were defective. I was more quesitioning the two most recent ones and whether they could actually show positive SO quickly and actually be accurate!! I have this huge fear of testing positive and having it be a chemical pregnancy and since the one test showed the line that I almost couldn't even see today, I was thinking my HcG may be dropping off. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply and give me your opinions - it helps to hear what others think! As we all know, it is still a long road ahead even if you do test positive on the HPT.

Bittybaby - you had me laughing about having your DH pee on the stick. It's good to know we are all a little crazy during this process

I had faint + starting at 5dp3dt. Sometimes, it was fainter than the one before, sometimes almost nonexistant, and I vowed not to POAS again, but I would. I think the result has to do with how concentrated your urine is. More hours between urination equals a darker line. My line was never what I consider dark, and never developed quickly, yet scheduled beta (day 14) was 275! I think my lines were faint because I couldn't go more than 4 hrs without peeing!
A chemical can still happen after your first, second, third betas. So, there is no way to predict that. In the mean time, rejoice! It's a lot better than getting BFN. Try to enjoy it. I think these are all great signs! You are pregnant, girl.

Congrats!! That;s a HIGH beta level!! You must have twins or triplets.. haha..awesome!!

Btw.. if you're pregnant, the hpts turn positive REALLY fast. I've been pregnant twice now and both times I remember how FAST that second line appeared but because I have never in my life seen a false positive, I didn't doubt it for a second. Look at the amount of hCg in your system, NO WONDER it was turning positive so fast!!! CONRATS!!

Thank you!

Mari - I actually only had one embryo transferred back so I am pretty certain it is only one. I guess it must have implanted fairly quickly?!?

My second beta was yesterday and it was 2,052. My RE does not want me to come back for a third and just wants me to come for an ultrasound on 2/21. Have any of you ladies only done two betas? At what point did you allow yourself to get excited? I feel like I have read so many sad and unfortunate stories about miscarriage after a and am scared to allow myself to be excited.

My first beta was 200 somthing and they didn't ask me to come back till a week later. They felt the every other day testing was just nerve racking and a good number was all that mattered. I just kept telling myself that I was pregant and there was nothing I could do to make it stick but to think positive.

Since I had a miscarriage before I didn't get excited till after I passed 13 weeks (since I miscarried at 12.5 the first time). It is hard but try and think positive.

Good luck. Oh I also heard that once the number gets to a certin level it stops doubling so you might be there already since your numbers were so high. Oh and you could still have two if that one split!

Congratulations!!! You have great betas and are pregnant so try to relax! The unfortunate thing is that none of us can do anything to prevent what the future holds for the pregnancy. You should be excited NOW and enjoy your moment! It is hard to relax and worry after trying so hard and because so many women going through infertility have struggled with miscarriages, chemical pregnancies, etc. The most important thing is to stay relaxed right now because that is all you can really do at this point besides taking your prenatal vitamins, eating right, and staying hydrated. You have no signs right now that anything is wrong. If you feel like anything is changing, call your RE immediately because they can always do another beat or ultrasound, but otherwise relax and enjoy your joy right now!
