Anyone else in and preparing for a round of IVF for the New Year?? I am waiting for my HSA (health spending account) to go back to full amounts so we can afford this as all is out of pocket. Good luck to all.

Yes, I will be in January too - was just thinking about starting a thread soon, so thanks! And also out of pocket, sadly. Wondering if I can sell any of the eggs they wind up harvesting?? We have our consult Nov. 2nd and it can't get here quickly enough.

I go back for a review and getting my prescriptions, etc in order on Nov 6th. I have to be honest, other than the hassles with the driving and appointments I didn't find IVF to be as scary as I thought it would. Fingers crossed that 2013 will be our year for a miracle!!!

Qbfan, your consult will be on DH's/my wedding anniversary, plus it is Election Day! Hopefully that's extra luck! Or at least, it might be the one time you have a bigger priority than voting that day. : ) It's very reassuring to see you say that it wasn't that big a deal. We'll be lucky to have your voice of experience on the thread. I am hoping my RE can work out the schedule so that I can do ET over MLK weekend, so I'll have to see what that means in terms of suppression and a start date...

Armywife & Nursey12! I can definitely relate. January seems so far away, and then I also think, I'll be 3 months older by then, too. Even the wait for my consult on Nov. 2nd is crawling by. When are y'all having your consults? I have no idea when they'll even have me start BCPs.

My consult is Nov 6th so will see what happens. In the mean time, supplement and vitamin city and visits to my acupuncturist continue along with saving up some extra money and planning for next year's HSA to cover at least 1/2 of the costs. Can't wait to see what the med list is and just in case going to start getting that too so it is spread out vs one giant bill as I am private pay

I will be joining you as well in January! Indeed it can't be here soon enough but we are switching insurances and this new one covers for a bit of the costs.
I am doing a last cycle of Clomid this month but chances are that I will have the 1st IVF in January .. we will see..

Sthrnbell I am so with you on the being another couple months older haha. I had my consult last Tuesday after the HSC. It was so much info I hope I don't forget to do something. Qbfan i am paying out of pocket too . Welcome lynne! Good luck on your Clomid.

Welcome Lynn82!! Hoping the Clomid cycle works, of course, but if not, you may be the only one with insurance among us. : ) Maybe we should start trying to leverage a group discount for drugs in bulk!

There is such thing as an egg sharing program. You split the eggs with another couple and they help pay for your cycle. You may want to look into it!

Hi! I'm so glad someone had started a January group! My appt is Dec. 6 and I'll probably be starting meds in early January if things go as they did with our first IVF. (We were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, who's now a happy and healthy almost 3 year old!)

We've been waiting to cycle in Dec/Jan for $ reasons too. In January our HRA accounts are funded again and that's a HUGE help for us in paying for IVF (our insurance doesn't cover anything til you are pg.).

Looking forward to keeping up with you ladies. I'm so nervous, even though I know what I'm in for.

Waiting for HSA to restart in 2013 is my same reason to wait too. Knowing we can only do $5K sucks but guess it is better than nothing. Makes the dent hurt just a little bit less!
