Post New to the board

Hi Everyone,
Im new to the board, to all boards actually...but it's nice to know that there are others out there to get support from, and hopefully offer support to. I did my embryo transfer on Saturday (today is Tuesday) - does that make me 4 days past transfer? It's our first IVF attempt and I am so unsure about so many things.... Yesterday and Today I have had a lot of cramping - should I be worried? Implantation? Any ideas? I would appreciate any advice you have...
Steff

Hi Steff,
I completely know what you are going through. I just did my 1st ivf transfer on Friday, so that would make me 5 days into my 2ww. All that I am doing is trying not to think about it and wishing there is something that i can take to get my mind off of this. About the cramping, I had it the 1st and 2nd day as well, it's not uncommon. The nurse at my dr's office told me that the more your stomach hurts the better it is.
Anyway's good luck on your end result.
Mihlya

Thanks - its nice to know Im not going crazy! I have heard so many things, cramps are a good sign - cramps are a bad sign...I guess I will have to wait and see! I've been off work since my retrieval, and am thinking about going back tomorrow - if only to get my mind on something else. It's a desk job with little stress - maybe it will be good for me. I'm in Ontario Canada...where abouts are you?

Hello and welcome to the board. Hopefully, your stay is short! I remember that I felt two very distinct shooting pains after my transfer -- kind of like cramping. Both of which woke me directly out of a sound sleep. After I learned I was pg with twins, I figured those must have been implantation pains. Cramping is pretty normal with IVF. It could signal implantation.

Hi Steff -

Welcome!! I am fairly new here also, and I am so happy you posted this question! I am going for my first (and hopefully last) ET tomorrow and would have been freaking out if I had cramps and hadn't read any of this!

Good Luck to you - and thank you!!

Hi - I am at LHSC in London - was much less wait time for my initial here (Hamilton was over a year) They have been nothing but wonderful there, it was definately a good choice.

Im so glad that cramping is normal - thank you all for your replies. The waiting is killing me!

Good luck with your transfer tomorrow Ann Marie - I'll be thinking about you!

I had cramping after transfer 5/10 and I am now preg, waiting to see if we need one of everything or mutiple... I know that while on bedrest I felt a very strange fluttering and also the cramping. So I would take it as a good sign.

Red face

Hi, I had my transfer yesterday and I am cramping frequently, although not enough to disrupt my sleep. I really can't remember when I had my IVF in 2001 if I had cramping, but that one did result in a BFP. Well, it is good to know that cramping is not unusual at all, so I won't stress over it.
