Hi Everyone - Well I am happy to report that IVF cycle number three has appeared to work for me. I am pregnant!! I can't even believe it. I am not sure I have processed this yet.

I had my first beta yesterday (3D transfer was 5/16) and my HCG was 471.

My nurse thinks it might be multiples but I think that it might not be because technically they were testing me on day 18 - given it was a 3 day transfer. Am I calculating this correctly?

What do you all think? Is 471 high?

Also, they don't have me coming back for another 2+ weeks (June 16th) for an ultrasound and 2nd beta. Does that make sense? I thought I would have to go back earlier than that to make sure things are progressing/doubling correctly. Your thoughts?

That is great news! It sounds like multiples to me; I think 471 is high. How many did you transfer?

I transfered 2. I actually had a disappointing cycle because out of 11 follicles only 2 fertilized. So...I was so sad thinking my chances were really diminished but....I guess I was wrong.

So you were tested 15 days post transfer... my second HCG was on day 15, and was 667. I think I may be having multiples too... we transferred 4 embryos on 05/10 and HCG was 667. I had my first beta on day 13 it was 286 then 48 hours later it was 667. I haven't heard of anyone not doing a second beta within 48-72 hours following the first one. You may want to question that... as for your number... it is pretty high... my ultrasound is June 12th.

Congratulations on being pregnant!!! This news always thrills and inspires me! Yes, 471 is high and I would request a 2nd beta in 48 hours, even if RE doesn't think it necessary, 2 weeks is a long time to wait for more info. Meanwhile take care of yourself!

Congratulations!! That is fantastic news!! But I tend to agree with everyone here - I would get a second beta sooner than 2 weeks.
