Question frozen ET question

I had my first frozen embryo transfer on Friday. Even though I was aware that about half of the embyros don't survive the thawing process, I wasn't quite prepared for the emotions that went along with it! They had to thaw SEVEN in order for us to get 3 that we could transfer. Four embryos gone, just like that. We still have 3 left, and one blastocyte, but that might not be anything for next time - they could all die in the thawing. Anyway, I was in a work conference when the lab called with the report, so I couldn't stop to ask my million questions, and then when I saw my RE for the transfer, I was loopy on valium, so if anybody knows much about this, that'd be great!
#1: In our embryo lab, Grade 4 is the best embryo quality, 1 is the worst. Two of our embryos were grade 3 (one was 7 cells, one was 8 cells), and one was a grade 2 (9 cells). Do people get pregnant (easily) on Grade 3 embryos?? Is it unlikely to suceed unless they are the highest grade?
#2: I thought blastocytes were desirable to use in a transfer? I'm not sure why my RE would choose to transfer a Grade 2 (which to me seems hopeless) when I have a blastocyte waiting.
I know I need to address these questions to my RE, but all of you have such an amazing wealth of knowledge (and you're sooo supportive), I thought I'd check here, too. I have my lab tests on September 28th and the 30th.
P.S. I got some advice here a while back about taking a warm shower right after getting a progesterone injection, and it was FABULOUS advice. I haven't had any problems with my shots since I started doing this. Thanks!!

Hey Jennifer-

I have not been through IVF so I can't answer your questions but I just wanted to say that I can totally understand your sadness over losing 4 embryos in the thawing process. I wish you much luck with this FET and am sending lots of your way!

Jen,
I agree with your statement that a blasto is the best so I'm not sure why your RE wasn't willing to use that for your FET. My nurse recommended the warm shower after the PIO shots so I'm glad to hear that it helps. I'm not there yet but already looking for the best ways to keep myself as comfortable as possible.
