I am paranoid now. I am 8 days past a 5 day transfer and I have been having light brown spotting yesterday and today. It's too late for implantation bleeding (RE said most likely implantation would be Sunday or Monday). My beta is tomorrow, but now I am worried that it didn't work. Anyone else have spotting during 2WW?

I dont want to get your hopes up, but I have read where many women started bleeding right before beta and thought it may be AF but ended up getting their !! This may be a great sign ecspecially because the blood was a brownish color!! GOOD LUCK at your Beta, many for your

Marie, dark brown blood means it is old blood that is being pushed out.....this could be several things, AF is coming, the uterus is expanding and pushing out old trapped blood, could have been from implantation and is just now getting pushed out.

No worries, hun, you will have your BFP!!!

Marie I has spotting after mt first Beta and my RE said don't worry its normal....it might be implantation bleeding.

I hope you are all right. I am a nervois wreck with the beta tomorrow. I have resisted POAS, which I am proud of myself for! I am also having periodic cramping, which makes me a little nervois also.

I thought witht the PIO shots I wouldn't get AF until I discontinue the shots. Is that right?

Marie, That is correct AF will not come until you discontinue PIO!!

Marie - I had spotting about 8dp5dt and called my nurse in a complete panic. She said that spotting occurs in about 50% of IVF pregnancies and that there can be a multitude of reasons for it - I was worried that it was too late for implantation and she said sometimes you just have no idea what causes it. I was reluctant to even post here because I am so worried about Monday and doubling betas but I did get a BFP Friday!

I think your spotting is a good sign. With my twins I had brownish spotting on beta day and continuing for a few days. That was 9 days past a 5 day transfer. After 3 miscarriages I was in a panic, but RE assured me it was normal and it worked out great.

I still keep getting BFNs on the HPTs. Today is 8dp5dt and I had some brown spotting come out. I am on PIO so wasn't expecting anything, and am trying to have a little hope from the spotting, but just think it's AF on her way...but why would I spot while on PIO? Did I just confuse my question?

Marie, I agree with the others, the spotting could be a very good sign. I spotted steadily from 8 DPO until just a few days ago. Good luck with beta tomorrow - I'm betting you get some good news.

Jakey, same applies to you - it could be a good sign. When is the last time you took a HPT?

I took a HPT this morning and BFN. Tomorrow is my beta, and wouldn't I have gotten a BFP by now? I just don't understand why I would spot while on the PIO. Is that normal too?

i didnt get a HPT BFP until the evening before my Beta and it was so very light, i thought it was imagination. when my beta came back it was 64 - which means it was bearely detectible by an HPT the day before.

I am not in my 18th wk.

brown spotting is old blood and could be left over from the ER/ET or implantation - as the uterus begins to expand or contract it will push this old blood out which is brown or even black in color.

Jakey - It's really hard to know what the spotting could be. I'm so sorry you're feeling this way ... I've been exactly there and know how much it stinks. Tomorrow you will have your answer. Try to keep up hope - you never know until beta. Thinking of you and hoping it turns out all right.
