Heather, good luck with your next IUI cycles. I hope that you don't have to go through with the shared risk and that you're able to get your BFP with your IUI's Still, that's not a bad price...and it's good to know it's there for you.

thanks ![]() well i'd rather have a shiny new boat and free babies, but yeah, it's better than 13K per try and i get boat money at the end if it doesn't work. i have a feeling the iui's might do the trick. i had 4 done last year, but they were in a small doctor's office with no stims, no monitoring, ect. good luck with the lupron! yay, you're on your way ![]()

Ok, this thread is hugh, so please forgive me if this has already been answered, I have tried to find the answer by looking through the thread but haven't found anything.
I was just wondering what is the real cost to you if you are accepted into the trial. I contacted them yesterday (not the clinic in Houston, but through the A Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of DR-2011 for In Vitro Fertilization - Full Text View - ClinicalTrials.gov). They emailed me today to say someone would be contacting me soon, so I was just curious of what I could expect to pay if I was accepted. Since I will have to travel to one of the trial locations I need to figure that expense in with what ever the medical expenses will be. Thanks!

Yea, my husband said he wants an RV for all of our vacations...but ya know what, with gas as high as it is right now I'm saving him from having to leave it parked...LOL Plus, they'll be plenty of time for that once we get a BFP!

I thought that enrollment was over with? Glad that I was wrong, and I hope you get in to a close location for your treatments. I know that in GA (where I am) the cost are 3500 for the trial/study fees, 2500-3000 for meds, all your pre-testing and bloodwork as well as you husbands. Luckily our insurance paid for all the pre-testing as it was considered diagnostic and even though they said they didn't cover male testing, they did pay our claim. The traveling is of course an expense to consider too, now that gas prices are sky high. I'm 2 hours away from my clinic, so 50.00 each trip just in gas money....and there are quite a few trips (pre-testing, CD3 testing, Ultrasounds and Saline Sonograms...etc.) Then it kind of slacks off until stim shots start. I had a visit last month and then I won't have another one till May 22nd for my baseline. During the next week though I could go everyday or every other day.... not looking forward to that.I know that some ladies in TX spent under 1000.00 though, since everything was covered in the study, so again it kind of depends on your location. Oh and at my location we're paid so much per visit at the end of our study too....so we do get a bit of the money spent back, other locations don't give you any back.

Welcome! The cost REALLY varies on where you go to do the trial. Some are paying for almost everything where others are paying for about half. Others are asking for the full amount in advance and then reimbursing you an amount at the end. Some are paying for meds, some are not. So unfortunately it's hard to tell you. Where do you live or which clinic are you looking into? We might be able to help you from that route!! Good luck!! Kristen

I asked them about the Atlanta, Houston and Cleveland locations as those are the 3 closest locations, thought I would prefer the Houston location.

Hi Indie! You are busy posting this morning. I think you are trying to grab attention from us Texas girls, eh?? It's not a TX thing tho! I can't wait to get to Florida to meet Heather and Pris (and now Melissa) and my brother lives in Atlanta so maybe we can meet up soon too! I for one, enjoy reading everyone's posts!!!
Speaking of posts, I'm anxious to hear from Lua, Jean and Brenda on their retrievals and fertilization reports!! Where are you guys?!?!? Zita and Megan - I hope today's appointments bring you a pleasant surprise and you are both pregnant. Let us know either way! Heather - I've been looking at shared risk programs too in case this one doesn't work out. That seems to be about the same price as here so sounds like a good deal. I hear you on wanting free kids though! Good luck and keep us posted on how everything goes!! Not sure if all of you saw it or not, but Melanee went in early to her OB in Utah and got her first U/S....She's having TWINS!!! Woohoo! I predicted that actually. LOL. So apparantely you all need to come to my house at some point because it's a lucky place. Melanee and Janice have both gotten their BFPs...and Kari is on her way to one. Seems to work for everyone else...hopefully it's my turn!! LOL! Here's a BIG HELLO to Pris, Lua, babywishes13, Shannon, Nicole, Marcia, Heather, Heather, Heather (LOL), Melissa, Megan, Janice, Melanee, Faith, Rose, Jean, Brenda, Zita, and Jenifer! Boy I hope I didn't forget anyone...if I did, it's because you don't post enough, so get to posting!! LOL!

Well, the Houston location "may" be full but I'm not positive. Try emailing Maryanne Fisher at mfisher@infertilitytexas.com or calling the clinical trial number at 281-332-0073, ext 220. You can also call and ask the front desk people if they are still accepting patients for the Duramed trial. I can tell you that the cost of the Houston clinic is $500 to start, about $100 in meds and then $600 if you have any embryo's remaining to freeze after transfer. So about $1200 total. Stim meds are covered in our trial. Let us know what happens!

Thanks for the information ladies. I really hope I get accepted to a trial, I don't think I can afford to try IVF if I had to pay for everything and my insurance covers almost nothing (although it has paid for some blood work and other test). I still hope my IUI works, but I want a plan in place just in case it doesn't.
Lots of baby dust to all of you.

I am thinking way too much! I woke up last night to some mild cramping and couldn't get back to sleep. Do you think this is a good sign? My ET was on 5/11 so I am 3dp5dt. I am hoping it was implantation cramping! I am so dang tired from no sleep and this is my 1st day back to work. Everyone missed me so much and wanted to know all about it. I hope they don't bug me too much with the results next week.

Hi Girls!!!
We got today our fertilization report, we have 18 maybe 22 embies... he believes (I'm not sure why he don't know exactly the number) but it's great. I went today to the random and I got the gel (I'm sooo sad, I really would like to use the ring!). Our transfer will be on Sunday and I'm still with some pain and I need to take a lot of gatorade to try to avoid OHSS... they are really concerned about it too. There are a lot of new girls here, welcome all!!! I hope everyone get a BFP!!
