It took about a week to get a call back. They are so swamped now it could take a little longer.

I called them twice and received no response within a week so then I called them again and left a message and email Maryanne. After 2 more days, 3 I called 3 times within and hour and emailed 2x more and finally got an email back and then a call. Kristen was also working behind the scenes and pestered them to call me. So it does take a while. Email Mayanne directly too if you don't hear back pretty soon. They are really busy with the 2 studies, but don't let them forget you.

Hello. I have never been a part of any forum but I heard about this study and I wanted to learn more about it!!! I just want to say thank you to the ladies that have posted so far. It has been great information. I have my email sent to Maryanne and I will call first thing tomorrow am. I have one question so far........Is this study for 1 round only of IVF???? I am assuming that it is but I wanted to make sure. Thanks again and baby dust to all!!!

Babydust! Yes, my understanding it is for one round of IVF, however you can freeze any remaining embryos and do a FET if it shouldn't work out the first time. You will need to pay for the cryproservation and the FET along with some administrative fees and some of the medications. I think Janice said it's around $1200. Good luck getting into the trial!! I think it's a great deal! Keep us updated!

That's great! How come they won't start you on the BCP right away and are making you start till the next AF? That seems silly. I'd ask Maryanne because that makes you wait another cycle! I hope they can start you right away but if not, you are on your way!!! Congrats!

I got an email telling me to wait for a phone call.

For those of you in the trial, what were the pre-screen questions that they asked you? I don't want to wait & get my hopes up if I am not what they are looking for.

Thanks!!

Our little group is growing by the day. It's kind of exciting. How many of us are there now? I told Maryanne she had quite a few of us on her hands. She just smiled and told me to keep the patients coming her way. I'm not really sure they need more patients since as it is it sometimes takes them a week to get back with the patients they have and the don't answer phones =). I'm not really sure why they stretch the process out over three months. I went in already for some testing, go back next month for day 3 bloodwork, then start BCPs the third month. I feel silly saying we have a long drive since we're not coming from KS or anything, but over an hour each way plus nasty traffic is not something I enjoy.

I'm so excited for this opportunity. Thanks so much for letting us know about it.

Rose

P.S.
I'm considering erasing my signature and starting from scratch. I'm sort of getting tired of the negative reminders. What do you guys think?

They did me the same way as Chinadoll08. Since I started so soon (Like the week of my fist appt.) they didn't have the time to do all the preliminary work. My appt was 2/26 and showed on 3/1. They still had to do the hystosonongram thing and all my dh stuff. So they are making me wait until my late March early April cycle.
I wanted to start right away and thought it was a good thing I had started so soon. I am just excited I'm getting to do this and will just have to wait it out.

I have been stalking this thread since it started. I think it is amazing how many of you have been approved for this. What a wonderful gift. I am too old, but if you hear of them accepting more "oldies but goodies" please let me know. Best of luck to all of you!!

Rose, I understand about changing your siggy. I HAD to take out all the flashing BFNs out of mine. There's nothing wrong with starting fresh!

Thanks!!

These are themain criteria, but I know that they can screen for others depending on your overall health. I can't remember exactly what they asked me but it included no smoking for at least 3 months. Hope this helps.

Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:
 •
Pre-menopausal, aged 18-42 old at time of consent
At least one cycle without fertility medication prior to screening
Tubal, idiopathic, male factor, ovulatory dysfunction or endometriosis- linked infertility
Semen analysis (frozen sperm, including donor sperm, may be used, as long as testing done at time of freezing meets standard criteria)
 • Others as indicated by FDA-approved protocol
Exclusion Criteria:
 •
Any contraindication to progesterone therapy
BMI > 38 kg/m2
Clinically significant gynecologic pathology (for example: submucosal fibroids, abnormal uterine cavity, or others)
History of more than 1 failed fresh IVF cycles
More than 2 consecutive clinical miscarriages (gestational sac observed on ultrasound)
 • Others as indicated by FDA-approved protocol

They didn't ask me that many questions, it didn't take too long to get pre-qualified, they asked me my age, height and weight (I guess for BMI purposes, I think there's a limit you have to be under), some basic cycle information, info about DH's sperm counts, what medication I had been taking, and I think that might be it. Then you have to go in for an appointment and that's when you get an exam I guess and get accepted into the study (hopefully!).

Thanks Janice!! If there are still spots open, then it looks like I could be a candidate! I hope they call!

I have had all the possible fertility testing already, so I hope they wouldn't make me do it all again. I guess if its free, I wouldn't mind.
