We'd only saved 8000.00 for everything and came across the study thinking we'd go ahead and start earlier....we were saving for a local clinic for next year. Anyhow, we've spent all that in travel, the cost of the study, meds, meds prior to starting and the unexpected 300.00 psychological that was presented to us after we'd signed consents. Ugghhhh, this couldn't have happened at a worse time

Well I started my Lupron today.
Hopefully everything will go well. There was only one person in the waiting room today and it was really quiet. I was in and out pretty quickly which doesn't happen very often. I am so excited to finally be starting all this I finally feel like I've taken the first step to start this whole process even though I've been to CORM a thousand times already. Good Luck to everyone and keep those BFP's coming!!!!!

Yes, most people donate their extra meds to the doctor's for self pay patients. The only reason I feel bad for asking is most self pay patients pay in the 10,000 mark...so I feel like paying 8000.00 is getting off cheap and they would probably tell me that. But seriously I do not have 700 at all....I have 1 credit card and it's a small one just used for emergencies so it's not even got 700.00 worth of credit on it LOL I'm seriously just ready to cry

That is really frustrating and I know how you feel. Lucklily with the IVF I don't have to pay as much but DH has kidney disease and we have alot problems trying to pay his stuff and we weren't going to be able to do IVF probably ever if we hadn't been accepted into the study. I don't know how to tell you where to get the money but we had to swallow our pride and ask friends and family. It's hard, but I'm sure it will work itself out, so be positive. I'm praying for ya!

I understand what you mean. Maybe someone on the forum could help you out. Everyone here wants a for everyone else, just as much as they do for themselves. I'm sure someone will step up and help you out. It seems crazy that the doctor could even think that about you coming up with $700 so quickly...I'm not made of money...it'd certainly be hard for me if I was in that situation. I think we all "scarffed" up the chance for this trial because of the huge cost savings to us. I'll for you!

IndieBlue, I would call your RE stat and explain your situation. I'm sure they can figure out some way to help you, either by giving you meds others have donated or by possibly ordering the medicine for you and billing you. Don't feel bad about asking for help!

Nicole - Congrats on starting Lupron! I thought everyone at CORM was on same schedule though? And the schedule said start lupron on Friday's, so I was just curious if they let you start today or if you are starting tomorrow? You and I are on same schedule! I start Lupron tomorrow! Woohoo!

Welcome Kari!! Wishing you the best! I was also in the Serono study at CORM and I also had a poor fertilization. I had six eggs they tried to ICSI and only 1 fertilized and didn't make it. We will have better results this time around!!

Faith, i'm so sorry about the meds!! If I had any I would give them to you! I would call your RE and see what they say!

Hope everyone else is doing well. I'm sitting at the airport killing time, can't wait to sleep in my own bed tonight!!

IndieBlue ..... you are taking 2 vials everynight? I took two vials for the first 2 nights then went down to one.... just to jump start them..... I would talk to the office and let them know how many you have and such they should have known your dosage plan before putting in you prescription order anyways

Thanks Marcia....sadly she was looking right at my 'order' when she phoned me. I asked her if I could wait and order it to make sure I'd need 12 more and she said, no...since it was a Holiday weekend she wanted to make sure I had it in time for Wednesday since my 12 will only last till Tuesday. I don't understand the change.....this is my first IVF so I'm wondering why the double Menopur? I guess maybe something came up with the b/w today? She said my results were good...so again, not sure why the 700.00 change!!!! It's disheartening to say the least.

Indie Blue - without a doubt I would talk directly to your RE. He/she will be able to tell you why the change with your meds and if your RE is anything like ours they are very invested and compassionate in each of their paitents so maybe he will have a solution for your situation. I found myself in the exact same position needing more gonal-f (an additional 900 bucks) and he had the nurse give me samples. So pray about it and we will all be praying for you.
