I should add that I didn't end up needing all the additonal meds after all because I triggered sooner than he thought so I was able to give the meds back for the next girl in need like I was..... so stay positive....

Faith - I'm so sorry that was done to you! My RE's office called me and wanted $8,200 by the next business day to lock in the price before the price increased $1,700! I came up with what I could and swallowed my pride and called my mama! I agree with Tina - pray about it and we will pray for you and it will all work out! I wish I could help you!!! Please let us know.

Kari -

Kristen - Welcome Home! Glad to have you back! Have a question about the 'starting Lupron on Friday.' What if our 2 week of BCPs end on a Monday? Do we start Lupron the following Friday or would we go ahead and start the Lupron the Friday before we stop BCPs?

Hey Maribeth,
Heather is right, you usually start the Lupron before you finish the BCP's. So I will start Lupron tomorrow and finish BCP's on Monday. Hope that helps!

I have a beautiful 4 yr old son from IVF/ICSI and I have had failed attempts since having him. I did the Serono study back in April and of the 22 eggs none of them fertilized. It was a huge disappointment but luckily Dr. Schnell was willing to let me go through this Duramed study. I got the study drug and they did not do ICSI-which they did with my son-and the embryologist told me my eggs basically disintergrated and I had nothing left. I have seen great success on this forum with the Duramed study and I am ready to get started!

I have a question about the Embryo Glue. I wonder if you can use it on a fresh IVF or will Dr. Schnell only use it on FET? I am willing to pay the $325 to be able to use it if it will get me another baby!

Thanks and Good Luck to all of you!

Welcome, and good luck with this cycle. I asked Dr. Schnell, and she said that the glue is prohibited with this study. Also, we're pretty lucky to be with CORM. Not all of the people on this forum are and apparently a lot of other clinics are charging patients for meds and are charging more for their cycles than CORM does.

Although I care for many people on this forum by now, I don't want to go to jail for illegally dispensing medications to any of them. You can't give your medications to anybody except your clinic or pharmacy if they take them back. Also, most clinics require that you turn in completed packs of medication or leftovers from the trials. CORM asked for the BCP pack back when I was done, any leftover injectables or devices, and wrappers from study medications.

The studies require that you turn in your leftover meds if they supplied them. The only things they supplied at my clinic is the BCPs and then the Progesterone when I get to that point. The haven't supplied anything else.

And I would never ask anyone to do anything they were uncomfortable with.

Morning -

Let the games begin! I finally got my shot schedule last night and I start Lupron today! Yippee!

Looks like I'll start stims on 6/3 (Follastim, Menopur) with ER/ET sometime around 6/16.

I see other people are talking about the costs of the study - up here in Chicago-land the only cost to me was of the meds that the study didn't cover (so I've paid for Lupron, my stims, HCG shot, antibiotic.) Luckily I'm taking the same meds as IVF#1 so I did have some leftover from last time. Thank god! Each one of my Follastim's cost $666 a piece (at Schrafts Pharmacy) which is a discounted price due to the study.

No Lupron headaches for me - just hot flash city!!

Not all of the people on this forum are and apparently a lot of other clinics are charging patients for meds and are charging more for their cycles than CORM does.

Thank you so much for the info! I feel so blessed to be going to CORM again after my first failed study!
I have seen a lot of women get pg from this study so I am hopeful! I just heard this morning from another girl that did the study at CORM that she got her on Tuesday! It certainly makes it easy to keep the faith when you see all the from the study!
