Trying to catch up....

I'm going to try and catch up but I'm soooo tired from working and the shots so I'll probably miss some of you.

Lua - I'm so sorry for your loss, but I am thankful that you are alive. You have been through a scary ordeal. I'm only a few minutes away so if you need anything please let me know. I'm praying the FET will be the one! You know you can get pregnant and you had quite a few to freeze so I'm sure when you are healthy again it will be your turn.

Mandi - Congratulations you are !!!!

Hollie - Congratulations!!! I'm praying that Baby B will catch up for you!

Congratulations to all the ER this week so far!!! Sounds like it's going really well for all of you!!!

Kari - They automatically ICSI'd for me at CORM (it was in my paperwork), we have primary male factor infertility so it's a requirement to ICSI. Maybe that's why they said it wasn't in there??

Nikki - I'm so sorry that you have to wait another month and that you are still having problems. I hope they figure out what is going on!!

Babywishes13 - Take it easy, OHSS isn't something to mess around with so please make sure you take care of yourself.

Molly - I have headaches all the time too, I'm pretty sure they said no Advil period. I feel your pain!

So I'm all upset right now...I had to go to the neurologist last week and they requested a bunch of bloodwork. Didn't think anything of it until I got my bill for the bloodwork today...$1800!!!! WTF!?!?!?!?! So I'm freaking out how I'm going to pay $1800 and wondering how the bill was over $7000 for BLOODWORK!!! The funny thing is I also got an MRI done and they said my payment was only $122. So I'm wondering how bloodwork is over 10X more expensive than an MRI...sigh...like I needed that kind of stress right now!!! Ok, I feel better, I vented...back to positive Kristen

Good grief Kristen! That is a lot of money for bw! They must have ordered every test they could think of! Are any of the tests on the chromosomal level? Those are expensive. I hope they can give you some results that will help with your headaches. Are you in town this weekend?

Yay Mandi and Hollie!!! That's great news for both of you.

Kristen- Did they bill your insurance for the bloodwork? After my BFN Dr. Schnell wanted to run some extensive genetic screening that they said they don't submit to insurance and are very expensive...I said maybe later.

Lua- I'm so glad you're getting better.

Lua - i'm so glad you're doing better and I'm very sorry to hear about losing the baby. Get yourself healthy and have some frozen babies for all of us to celebrate!

Mandi - Congrats on the BFP!

I was able to talk to the nurse about the spotting during my stims and she said it was just fine. The spotting is gone now. She said it would stop as the estrogen levels incresed and the lining of the uterus thickened. My estrogen was 231 yesterday. I go back for b/w and u/s Thu morning at 8am to finally see my follies! I know that Stacey and Melissa are right with me. I hope your estrogen numbers were good yesterday too!
Praying for lots of fertilization reports today from all of those ER's we've had in here!

Hi Cheli,

Your Estrogen level sounds good! Mine was 210 and they said that the Dr. was really happy with that, so I go back on Friday to see all the lovely follicles that have cooked up some beautiful eggs and get some more bloodwork. It seems like we might be right on track and our E2 levels are really close! What time were you there yesterday?

My appointment on Friday is at 8:45 again, will anyone be there?

Janice/Rose - Yep, they billed insurance because the total bill was over $7K and they are charging me $1800 something. I'm just mad because had they told me that I would be responsible for $1800 for the tests I would have said, no that's ok...You know like you go to get an MRI or something before they even do it they say, you're copay is $xxx. Maddening. But I digress...will be on the phone later with BCBS that's for sure.

Janice - I will be in town this weekend however I will be madly buried trying to clean my office and house for visitors coming in the following week. But give me a buzz and if I can find my way out of my office we can meet for dinner or something.

Stacey and Cheli - Sounds like you guys are doing great!!! Can't wait to hear the follie count!

I'll be at CORM on Thursday morning for my Stim start appt, should be there at 7:30 am...anybody else??

Cheli - I'll be there Thursday too! Let's wear something to identify ourselves!!!

CallyGirl: Where are you? Just checking...since I know you're getting close I haven't seen any updates...maybe I've missed them?

Kristen: Sorry about the insurance....mine is wacko too. I have BCBS and sometimes they say they don't cover things but then they pay them, others they say they pay and don't...it's crazy. I hope you get it worked out though....good luck.

China: Good luck on Friday, hope everything comes out okay

Cheli: Beta sounds great, mine jumped a LOT after that 100-200 mark....I'm sure you'll be surprised at your next visit.

Morning -

I just came from my baseline US and B/W appt and am now waiting for them to call and give me the OK to start stimming tonight. God, I hope all my levels are good enough for the study - has anyone heard of anyone getting kicked out of the study yet?

So at my RE's there is one nurse who can never seem to take my blood without doing serious bodily harm - I call her the Eastern European Pain Enforcer. I guess I have low veins so she has to dig around (and multiple times!) to find any blood. Giving blood is now actually worse then taking shots. Go figure.

It looks like it's about to pour here in Chi-town. Makes me wish I can take a nap. I've been really tired this time. Yesterday afternoon was torture getting through the day!

Indie - Did you find out when your ER will be?

Kristen- on getting to start your stims!! Now the fun begins! That sucks about your b/w. It's always such a mess dealing with insurance companies.

Cheli and Chinadoll- your E2 numbers sound great!!! I can't wait to hear the next update!!

I talked to Courtney this morning and 15 out of her 19 eggs fertilized after they did the ICSI. She also went in for her randomization and she got the ring-which she was thrilled about! So she is really excited! She was going to try and go to work today but she said she was really sore so she went back home to rest.
She said John would call her tomorrow to update her on the division of the babies. Her transfer will be Saturday and her beta will be 6/16. She is going to try and sweet talk Maryanne to let her do it a day early so that would be on Father's Day.

Hope everyone is doing well!

KDJAJ, please tell Courtney that she has a great report!!! That is wonderful that so many are fertilized! She should have lots of embabies! I'll bet that she will be able to have her beta on Father's Day. I was able to move mine up 1 day to Mother's Day.

Molly, that's how I feel about giving blood! My veins have al but disappeared because they are tired of getting poked so they always have to dig around. OUCH! I haven' heard of anyone getting kicked out of the study I don't think. I hope your baseline results are good!

Molly, I have the same problem. They started in my right arm....went with it for the first few visits. Then it was really bruised when I started stims so they went with the left arm, only one good vein there. Then back to the right on the next visit, but sadly it shot out a little and then it just stopped....so then to the right hand. Now they've taken it from the left hand 2-3 times, and OUCH they are getting to where they have to dig around to get my vein.....sadly the ones in my hand roll.

How many more pokes do we have to endure LOL

Molly, just wanted to add that I've not heard of anyone getting kicked out, but I've heard of a few that failed to meet the requirements after bloodwork and baseline and didn't get to go any further. They told me at my clinic you're not accepted until the baseline so I guess they weren't really 'kicked out' as much as they just weren't accepted. My clinic will continue with the cycle though, after we've paid and done our baseline, for the money we paid. Even if they can't use our data for the study, the RE's will finish up our cycle for no more money (other than what we paid for meds and the study 'fee'). So that was reassuring.

Thanks for the info Janice!!! I hope they let her move it up one day too! My husband and brother are going to play golf that morning so it would be a great surprise for when he got back!

That's another random question I wanted to ask you guys- How did you tell your hubbies?

I have the worst veins ever! I have only one good vein and it is so built up with scar tissue from all the years of taking blood that it's hard to get in there. They told me to drink lots of water and wear warm clothes to help. And sometimes it does....LOL

Indie- on your ER tomorrow!!! I'm sure you will do great!!

I'm so sorry Lua. That is quite an ordeal you went through. Everything will turn out okay and I'm praying for you.
I went in for my stim appt. yesterday and I find out today if I can start on Friday or not. The Nurse said I had 10 follies on my right side and 6-8 on my left. Is it normal to have this many when I haven't even started stimming yet?
