Nope. Because I don't believe we are being treated medically different. In fact, I would say 90% of IVF patients aren't given estrace or estrogen supplements, it certainly isn't required. The only things that are required for IVF are ovarian suppression, stimulation, trigger and progesterone. I am wondering why you think you need to be on estrace? Did your doctor recommend or is it something that you think everyone is on?

Since we are on a clinical trial there are certain things that are not allowed (such as acupuncture and aspirin)...other things are allowed that are considered medically necessary (such as Lovenox/Heparin, Folic Acid, etc). So I would think if your doctor thinks that you need estrace than I don't think the study limits that.

I would also say that this study is showing nearly a 75% success rate at our clinic and overall most clinics are showing a HUGE success increase and I don't think any of us are on estrace.

I'm a purist, so why put something in your body that isn't needed??

Hi Kristen,

I was just confused by my clinic because they said they give all patients but those in the study estrogen. However, after my transfer my dr. mentioned that he wanted me on it. Hi nurse later called in a script for me. Today a different nurse from the practice called explaining that he must have gotten confused and didn't realize I was in the study and therefore I must not take the script he gave me. So anyway.....I was just worried by the fact that it is common practice for everone else who sees him to be prescribed it. But, if it's not necessary for a pregnancy then I will try to not worry about it!! I also took a hpt today and say a very faint line! My beta is 7/7. Hopefully it's not positive because of lingering hcg.

That's strange that he would prescribe estrogen to everyone...don't understand that but I'm no RE either. I checked and estrogen is not allowed as part of the study, but I wouldn't think it makes a difference honestly. Try not to worry about it since all of us on this thread going through the same trial as you are with the same requirements are not on it. And the success rate from just the people on this board is over 65% which is way better than most clinics in the country. Hope that helps

Her and my brother will be welcoming TWO babies in February!! I am going to be an aunt X 2!!!!

The hb's were 123 & 116. Baby B is measuring about 4 days behind but I think that's normal.

Everything else looks great though and they are extremely happy!

My cervical dilatation was not fun but I'm ok- it just hurt during the procedure. So I am all set to start my stims tomorrow night and then I go in on Monday for my first b/w.

I have a four day weekend and I'm so excited. I took Monday off as vacation. My 30th b-day is Sunday. I always wanted a baby by the time I was 30 - I just didn't know it would still be in my tummy! I just feel so lucky to have had this chance to have such an affordable IVF cycle and come out ! I'm still feeling pretty tired, so I'm just going to take it easy. Just hoping the days pass quickly so I can see my bean count next Friday! Have a happy 4th of July everyone!

Congrats Courtney on the twins, how exciting!!!

Cheli you are next for twins Although after seeing Coutney's beta numbers they are almost identical to mine so I told DH that there is still a possibility that there could be more then one!

I am actually feeling pretty good. I do get my 11 hours a sleep at night and a good nap mid afternoon (can you tell I am a teacher and have the entire summer off). My boobs hardly hurt anymore though, I figured it would be the opposite, but for some reason they feel relatively normal just a little tender. I still have the somewhat loose bowel every morning, I don't know if it is the magnesium in the calcium supplement, or the ring. It sure beats the other option!

Our actual 4th of July is going to be pretty low key. My family is actually coming to Texas tomorrow for a 12 day visit so that will be a nice distraction and hopefully will make the days go by quickly so we can see our bean on Friday

Question about mixing stims...I have white-ish bubbles in my vial after I mix in the sterile water. I'm on Gonal-F and Luveris. It says to get a "clear solution" but I always get it clear (for the most part) with little bubbles kinda on the top of the solution. Is this ok? Am I doing something wrong?

Also, I had my E2 and follie check yesterday. My E2 was 155 and I have 11 follies on one side and 13 on the other but they are all still small. Sound about right?? I was stimming for 3 days at that point. I'm kinda nervous because my coordinator said I'm at risk for not stimming properly since I was "holding" on Lupron for a little longer than usual. I don't feel very nervous because of what you guys said...about how at CORM you stay on Lupron for 14 days...just have that little feeling in the back of my head that something is going to go wrong.

Sounds like you are doing great Sheri! And I wouldn't worry about those little white bubbles- it's impossible to get every last drop-even as hard as we try! LOL

When I went on Thursday I did ask my RE about being on the Lupron an extra week and she said it was fine and since it's such a small dose it's really hard to over suppress you that much that it would mess up your cycle. It was actually a good thing for me since I had 2 cysts and now they are both gone and she said my ovaries were nice and clear and looked beautiful. Now if my "beautiful" ovaries could just make me some "beautiful" eggs I would be thrilled! I started on 150 of Follistim and 1 vial of Menopur and I go back tomorrow just for bloodwork to see if I am moving along like I should.

We were gone all weekend at the lake with my brother and Courtney and her cute little preggo belly!
