Update on the meds cost (earlier post)

I called the pharmacist back and the dizzy one I spoke to yesterday had no clue who to bill (that explained her attitude).. so the one I spoke to today does these prescrips all the time and knows to bill CORM...... She said they have to send them to the clinic and then I pick them up from there. They will be delivered in the morning.. YAhoo... Goodness, ladies, now I can relax... just something else not to stress about

Jennifer,

Holy cow that's a lot of meds!!! So you got all of that filled at your pharmacy and then you bring it with you on the day of ER? That doesn't sound very fun, but we do what we have too, especially for the small cost we are paying. When's you b-day? My ER tentatively schedule for my b-day too!
What generics did they give you and what brand names did they replace? It is hard to reach Maryanne sometime. I usually email her and if I need ot talk to her pretty quick I'll talk to one of the receptionist's and tell them it's important. It works some of the time.

Melanee, that good that they just mailed you the meds. No extra trips to Houston saves some money.

I still haven't met Dr. Schnell yet. How is she?

Also for all of you coming to Houston from out of town, where are you staying?

There really isn't a lot you have to bring for Egg Retrieval. I had to take one valium an hour before the ER and then I took two little vials of something for them to use. The antibiotics were for after the transfer. I didn't have to have the steroid so that must be part of the trial with the progesterone.

I was driving around yesterday and I can say the Comfort Suites is brand new (it's on Texas Ave) and there is a place called Intown Suites that doesn't look too bad and I think they have a weekly rate. It's on Bay Area Blvd and it's right in the middle of a bunch of restaurants and close to the mall.

All of them are fine. The Homewood Suites is nice, I lived there for two weeks when I first moved to Houston. Yes, there are plenty of restaurants that have delivery and there is also a takeouttaxi that will deliver. However, you won't need them that often because you will be coming over to my house for dinner most of the time anyway .

Yes, all those meds were filled at the pharmacy - I could have kicked myself for not getting a copy of that sheet. I take the diazapan generic for valium and the two vials I take for the ER - That is scheduled on my b-day - 4/29! Go Tauras! I will meet Dr Schnell this saturday. The list I mentioned before are the generics - I dont know the brand names.

Jennifer - I was reading how there was a long wait yesterday. I was there yesterday too for an emergency visit after my ER. I think sometimes what happens is that on certain days there is no way of knowing who is going to need to come in on which days. Some people who are just starting have their appointments set up in advance and then all of a sudden there may be ten people who suddenly started AF who need checkups or who are ready for the ER early.

I was scheduled for an ER on Tuesday but ended up having it on Monday instead...my ET was scheduled for Sunday and now it is Thursday. So I think sometimes it's very fluid and they can have long waits. I've been there and gone straight in and I've also had the long waits too. Not trying to make excuses for the long waits because I know they can be frustrating.

I hope your next appointment is quicker!

Update on my lone little embie, it's hanging in there and they are doing the transfer tomorrow morning at 7:30 am!! Say some prayers that it's a little fighter!!

Kristen - Lots of prayers to you.

I tend to be a pretty patient person, on the other hand DH is the worst... I am not going to complain on having to wait, when it's a free cycle. It's still a bit nerve wracking, this being my first exp with IVF... I'm taking it day by day. DH says I stress way too much about stuff beyond my control... but when you have longed for something so long and finally have that chance at your finger tips - it's hard.

Hi ladies. I have followed your thread for a couple of days now.. I live in the SA area. I have been doing IUI's with no success and really want to start the IVF process. But like most of you wonderful ladies, $$$$$ is such an issue. I have been searching for a few days now for clinical trials in Tx and the only ones I can find our either Houston, or Dallas..which of course is about 4 hours ea way for me. I also found one in Austin and submitted my name and # and received an email showing that they have forwarded it to the person handling the study.. Have no idea how long it will take for someone to call me but hopes it's quick..
Anyways.. I pray for each of you and hope for that miracle...

On a side note, if I was interested in this study in Houston, what is the schedule of traveling for you other ladies that our out of towners...
