Nikki74 - Congrats on the great fert report!!! That's great that 15 of them fertilized without ICSI!!! Not to upset you, but you'll probably loose a few along the way. I had 13 that fertilized and we froze 6 and transfered 1. So we lost a few. They weren't growing as good or as fast as the others. You should have a great number left over to freeze though!!! Congrats!!!!

Cheli & Stacey - Congrats on seeing your healthy bean again!!!!

Kari - I'm very excited for you! I hope that this is your time. Wed. may be too early for POAS. I had a high beta and got a very light + on 6dp 5dt. But as long as you don't get upset if you get negative, knowing that it's early, then there is no harm done.

I had my dr appt yesterday with my OB. She is very nice. Everything is looking good. She said I'm at a higher risk for pre-term labor with the lost twin. Also some risk for the baby because of my blood pressure, but it was good yesterday. We got to listen to the baby's heartbeat, so that was fun.

Time is really flying by for me! It's hard to believe I'm in the 2nd trimester already!

I have one more question, just call me question girl!

Did anyone have alot of stomach cramping after the ER , I mean a couple days later still? I am trying to figure out if this is from the ER or the progesterone ring.

Are you having cramping around where your ovaries are or up higher in your stomach?

My ER was on a Sunday, and on Tuesday and Wednesday I was dying with abdominal pain and pain kinda near my ribs. I couldn't stand up straight to walk. I felt so full and wasn't eating either. I went in for an u/s on Wednesday and my RE said I developed OHSS and that I had some fluid in my abdomen. NOW...I HOPE that is NOT the case with you...but it was with me. If the pain gets too bad, you might want to call your RE. Mine told me to eat lots of protein (meat, fish, eggs, peanut butter) and ONLY drink Gatorade. AND REST!!! She gave me a note to stay home from work for 3 days last week

Oh boy, that is kindof what I have , it is most sore on my upper stomach and ribs....OK, maybe if it doesn't get better by tomorrow I will call. I was afraid this would kick us out of the study, but by your example it doesn't, which it great.

I thought they would catch this by the blood work ya know....IF this is OHSS.

I think it's common for us to get mild cases of OHSS and still be fine. My RE said mine was "mild" because I didn't have enough fluid to drain. My best guess is, you have a mild case. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have it checked out if it's really bothering you. Mine was!! I was still able to do my transfer after resting for a few days and drinking Gatorade. I feel fine now...other than the stress of the 2WW!!

Thanks SHeriS! I am excited for you and cannot wait for your news!!!!

Thanks for the info. I called the RE nurse and she said that unless I am running a fever , nausious or vomiting or have shortness of breath to just take it easy, drinks lots of fluids and eat more protein, like you had said. UNLESS it gets really bad, then to call back.

She said it may just be gas since the body has been through so much.

Hopefully this will ease up!

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and have just seen the info on the IVF studies. Does anyone know if there will be any additional studies in the Houston or Austin area again? How did you guys find out about these studies? I've had one unsuccessful IVF cycle in 2006. As I'm sure some of you know really hurts to have it topped of with a huge money loss. My husband and I are ready to try again and I wish I would have heard of these studies sooner. Any info would be much appreciated. Feel free to email. Thanks.

Hi Baker101,

I found out through word of mouth. I am in IL actually but same study as these ladies.

Also the Clinic I go to has studies on their website from time to time and my doc had also told me about previous studies before, but I was always too late.

Baker 101 - go to Search of: ivf - List Results - ClinicalTrials.gov at any time to see what clinical trials are going on. You can also see the results on a map. From what I see, there are no trials in TX that are currently recriuting volunteers. But there are some in other parts of the country. You could look into those. Traveling may cost less than ivf. Or you could wait a little while. I think these things pop up pretty often.

Hi Girls!

Today is my last day of bedrest and I finally get to go back to work tomorrow! Working will keep my mind off of laying here waiting to suddenly become pregnant and overanalyzing the quality of my embryos that we transferred. What if they weren't good enough? UGH- Much better to go deal with crazy engineers! LOL

I just wanted to pop in and say Hi to everyone for today!

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your input. I'll keep checking the website. I called the clinic in Houston and they said to try back in a couple weeks to see if anyhing gets scheduled. Good luck everyone - sending baby vibes
