Cheli,
Yeah, So glad to hear that everything looks good! I agree it was the coolest thing to see the little baby move and twitch. We saw it twice and I had to ask if we could watch one more time I agree about Dr. Sims! He is an incredibly patient doctor! I just keep telling DH how AWESOME I think Dr. Sims is!

We do have heart rate twins That is a great thing! Do you have a feeling one way or the other boy or girl? I think we are having a boy, just a guy feeling. What hospital are you planning to deliver in? My OBGYN is at OGA so we will be going to Texas Womans'. I have my first appointment with my OBGYN on the 4th! I can't believe I will be there for a reason beyond the yearly pap. So hard to believe!

I agree that we need to keep this group going! We should get together and have lunch of something sometime in the near future.

Stacey - I'd be game for lunch!! Might want to wait till most of us are in our second trimester when we aren't all so quesy and tired!!! LOL!

When I saw you mention your OB appt I was so jealous...lol. Since I've got identicals, Dr. Schnell wants me to go to a high risk perinatologist (up at Texas Womens' also) and not my regular OB. I have to agree, but she won't release me or refer me till my 12th week...so I don't get that extra appt in there. BUMMER! LOL! I did tell Maryanne though that I wanted a 10 week ultrasound and I'd pay for it with insurance though. . I suppose I could sneak an appt in with my current OB just for kicks though .

Kari, Sheli - How you guys feeling?? Don't POAS yet...we'll let you know when we think you should...LOL!

Lua and Martieroo - when are you guys scheduled to do your FETs??

Stacey (TX) - I'm glad to hear that others like Dr.Sims as much as I do! My baby moved twice too. The first time they saw it and I had looked away of course. Dr.Sims was patient enought to wait for quite some time so that I could see it move too and it gave me a nice head bob! My feeling is that we're having a girl, but I really don't know. We've decided to not find out the sex of the baby - we're going to do it the old fashoined way. As long as we don't get any peep shows during an u/s our plan should work. We are plannining on delivering at Willowbrook Methodist on the NW side of town. I've never met my OB, but I hear great things about him. He insisted on seeing you sometime around 8 weeks to set things up. So, I have my first appt Monday at 9:30am with him and then the next one will be sometime around the end of the first trimester. He doesn't do an u/s though on the first visit, so I have to wait until Aug 17th at CORM to see my critter again! AHHHH!!!

I would love to get together with the TX gals sometime! We can meet for Happy hour and have caffiene free Root beer! LOL!

So, I'm 5dp5dt and I have no idea what to think. At 2dp and 3dp I felt "something" down there and nothing since. I get "ovary pains" every now and then, but that's about it. Last night I got a headache and this morning I woke up with a stuffy nose and the 'you-know-whats'! I'm really tired today and my stomach is all "rumbly" too. I hope that's a good sign and not a cold or some kinda sickness coming on!!! I know I'm going to POAS tomorrow morning. I can't stop myself!!! I know it's early, but I gotta do it!!!

Kari - How are you feeling?

OK girls. Need some advice here. We have just completed our first IVF cycle (Duramed study) unsucessfully and are trying to decide the next steps. TTC for over 2 years, with not one single BFP.
Everything is pretty normal, tubes open, lining good, ovulating fine, so RE suggested perhaps trying another round of IVF, then if BFN, to do some testing and laparoscopy to rule out endometriosis before going for another round. Anyone else been in the same situation? $ is an issue for us. If we are going to pay for two-cycle package, should we rule out endo first? I have no other symptoms other than BFN, but RE said women often don't know feel a thing.

Most insurances are more likely to pay for "diagnosis of infertility" than "treatment" or an IVF cycle. If yours happens to be one of those, I would get diagnosed first so that you can realistically consider all your options and maybe even know if your odds are good that you will conceive on another IVF cycle. As you now know, IVF is so hard physically and emotionally that it's important to be fully informed before you put your self throught that again. Also, if you're considering your 2nd IVF be sure to ask your RE if they have a money back guarantee - some Dr's will offer you a gurantee if you commit up front to the costs of multiple IVF's, I know that's still a lot of money though. Hang in there and I hope you get your BFP soon!

Hi Gals..
I am so excited. Had my appt with IVF study nuse today.. I got my schedule and med protocol today. A little nervouse though. I should start Lupron around 7/30.
They have me on 225 Gonal F and 150 of Luveris. My nurse said that I am on a pretty high dosage, not sure why Re did this. I go in Monday for my pre-Lupron u/s and if everything looks good I can start... YEAH Dang this feels so real now...

Thanks, I'm leaning that way too. I think my insurance does cover diagnosis but definately not infertility. I am also in the "unexplained" category. Did you also rule out endo?

Sounds like you have some great things going on over there Sheri!!! Good Luck tomorrow when you POAS!!!

I don't know how I'm feeling! LOL I am trying not to overanalyze every little twinge or cramp I feel. I felt "things" today but I also had a very difficult day personally so I'm not sure if it was implantation or my stomach in knots! LOL I also keep toying with the whole POAS thing too. My mom and dh are against them and think I should just wait it out. When I had my I POAS the morning of my beta and it was and low and behold my beta was 48. So I'm not sure. I have seen enough to last me a lifetime! LOL I am notoriously an extremely impatient person so I'm not sure if I can hold out on Monday morning!!!

I did change my ring this morning for the first time and I liked to never found that thing!!! LOL I had some cramping for a while after I changed it but I think it was just because of all the digging I was trying to do to get it out! Other than that I am loving my ring!

Nikki- Good luck on finally getting started!

Megan- did ever show for you?

Cheli, is your last appointment with CORM on Sunday, August 17th? I was suppose to go in on the 18th, but have had to change it to the 19th because I go back to school that week and I have to be at a meeting on that Monday. I was just wondering because if they are doing the final visits on Sundays then I am going to try to get in on Sunday!

No period yet...uuughh!

We are now back from Flordia - after 11 hours in the car - and still no period.

I talked to CORM today - I go in at 8:45 to get my progestrone levels checked to see if that will give us some clue to the missing period!

Hey Girls,

So tomorrow is the transfer day! We are very excited!

We meet with the embryologist first to go over the report and see what we are working with.

I really have a different feeling this time. I mean this is our first IVF(two previous IUI), but I just feel more positive and a feeling of "This is it"!

My RE has given me a vallum(sp?) pill to take for the procedure. Had anyone else had a sedative for the transfer?

Anyway as always, baby dust to all and congrats again to all who have "buns in the ovens".

My regular RE(not the study RE) wanted to do a Hysto and Lap on me prior to IVF to try to determine if there was another cause other than my husbands low #'s...as even w/those there was a possibility we could maybe get pg on our own..and we were timing it, etc. When she did the Lap she found stage 3/4 Endo and from the Hysto she found that I had a uterine septum. So I am soooo glad I had those procedures done and yes my insurance paid for them. I would definitely push your Dr to do those tests on you BEFORE you spend more money on IVF...maybe they won't find anything, but maybe they will and you will have the peace of mind knowing that everything has been checked out! Hope this helps and good luck w/your decision!
