The harder wait is waiting for to show up so you can even start your cycle....and then there is the 2WW in between ET and the beta!! That's why the board comes in so handy!!

How are you doing painwise today?

I am doing okay painwise, it still hurts a little to stand up straight and to sit down too quickly or get bumped. I just kinda feel like I am a little slower at everything I do. I had to have CORM call me in some vicodin yeterday because I was having a rough time after I woke up from my nap. I was fine (just like Kristen) for the first couple of hours after the retrieval because I think the drugs were still in my system but when I woke up I was really feeling it. Today is a little better but for sure a little sore.

This may be TMI but when I inserted the ring it was a little tender and then when they checked it they had to use a speculum (just like a pap) and that was a little painful. But not unbearable today. Let me know if anyone else has any questions about the ring or egg retrieval, I am happy to answer ANY and all questions!

Ok call me crazy, but I thought we were not supposed to let Serena or Maryanne know we have it... Is it still considered a single-blind study if they know? I agree - I think I would like the ring too - less mess...icky!

Thanks girl!!

As far as which study we are in, MaryAnne and Serena are the study coordinators so they do the randomization, paperwork, and training on how to use whatever method you get. So they will know what method you are using. You are not supposed to tell any of the other nurses or Dr. Schnell. They made sure to tell me that when I go in for my Egg Transfer that when I get undressed and get into my gown I will take out the ring and put it in a little bag they gave me and that I cannot say anything to Dr. Schnell or the nurses about it. And then afterwards I will insert it again. Hope this helps!

I may be naive on the whole ring thing...but I would think the Dr would be able to tell if you weren't using gel right??? I mean...it's GEL!!! LOL! I am relieved that it doesn't seem to hurt much though...I don't like the idea of putting it in myself! But if I can give myself multiple shots a day, I can do that, right??

I think as long as your doctor doesn't know that it's okay? Not sure how all that works though...having to take it out and put it back in and them check it without letting certain ones know what you have LOL Everyone I've came across from the study has gotten the ring...wonder where all those gel users are going to be LOL

Oh and in the paperwork it says to not use the Gel the morning of any exams either, just to bring it with you and using it afterwards. So they won't see any Gel either. I think that I'd insert the Gel after leaving the office though, I've been in there before for an exam or U/S and then they've let me get dressed only to move me to another room and do some other exam....so I wouldn't insert the gel till I was sure I was through LOL

Nothing is TMI here. I already asked for a prescription for vicodin to have for ER day, but I've lost it somewhere in all the travel. I hope I can get another Rx from them...I plan on taking a vicodin right before I go to sleep after ER and then another as soon as I wake up. I'm all about not letting pain get a grasp on me. Hopefully that will work. That's how I treat my back spasms when I get them and it seems to work for those so hopefully it will work fo rthis.

I'm glad you're feeling better and I look forward to your embaby report tomorrow!

I have the gel and would like to think it is working wonders for me.... not messy like I have heard people talk about... I do it in the morning then I go back to sleep for a little while.... and yes on transfer day I had to wait until after the transfer to put it in so the dr would see but the dr that I had for my transfer I had never met so I doubt she even knew I was in the study anyways....
