Not sure what they are charging you there, but maybe it will be cheaper to fly or drive somewhere else without all those headaches. I'm hoping that it will work out for you!!!

It's worse here in VA. I was told my contribution would be anywhere from 5-10 grand!!!

I'm not a patient at CORM. I wonder if I can still get into the study there and just fly down???

I just sat here and added mine up (including gas, since the clinic is 2 hours away) and it'll be 8000.00 before it's done with Definitely not the 5500.00 they quoted me prior to signing those consents

How do so many of you go to a different clinic though? In my consent it says there are roughly 10-12 visits for check ups...etc after ET, I couldn't fly down that much LOL

Ouch! Well, I know that CORM is almost full (if not already) but I know that the Dallas clinic is still accepting people and they are a little more expensive than CORM, but still cheaper than other places I've heard of. There are several people that are flying in to get the treatment at other places because it does end up being cheaper in some cases.

Melanee is traveling in from Utah and is having her ET today..woohoo! I'm not sure how many follow up visits she will need, but I will ask her when she gets back. It can't hurt to try to get into CORM, but I did hear something about they probably won't be accepting new patients next month due to the huge numbers they have already.

Heather and Pris may have more details about the Florida trial and if they are cheaper and less strict, that might be easier for some of you.

It's amazing how different each place is. I won't complain at all about long waits and such for what we are getting!!! I'll bite my tongue!! LOL!

Pris - Yippee on starting stims soon! Boy it's going to get really busy around here soon!

Melanee update!

Just thought I'd let everyone know that Melanee is now PUPO X 2!! She had her ET this morning and had 2 Grade AB Blasts put back! I'm trying to come up with nicknames for them . She's now resting comfortably and waiting for her valium to wear off. Her DH and I are debating yard work or something becuase we're bored

Hope everyone enjoys this gorgeous day!!! (Well, it's gorgeous here in Houston anyway)!!

We are curreently in the 2ww of our second IUI and praying that we have a BFP. However, if we don't we are ready to move on to IVF and are considering a change in REs. We are in the Houston area and are curious how you all are liking this clinic. We don't qualify for the trial as I am 35 and I understand they only took a few women over 34, but I want to consider them as an option. How are the staff? Do you know about their success rates? I'm also wanting to know about how they perform egg retrieval. My current RE's office only provides mild sedation and I am not at all good with pain and have had horribly painful IUIs. At what location are you receiving treatment? Thanks!

Hi Lizzie! Well, I hope your IUI works and you won't have to go to IVF personally!

Well, I'll be honest, I really like Dr. Schnell and I love the staff at CORM. They have a new facility and everyone is very friendly. That being said though, there are some things I would consider since you aren't in the study. If face time with the RE is important every visit, then I wouldn't go to CORM...the way they have it set up you don't see her very often unless you have a specific appt with her. Also, with the trials going on, they are SWAMPED with people and there are some pretty long waits going on from what I hear. I haven't had that, but I was a patient before the trial, so they all knew me there...which I think may have helped me.

As for success rates, I think her numbers are slightly lower than some clinics because she does a lot more clinical trials than other clinics. The cost for a Regular IVF out of pocket there is around $8600 before meds.

As for the ER, I was knocked out . I don't remember a THING!!!

Personally I like her a lot, I go to the Webster clinic

Unhappy

Hello everyone. It is Saturday. I am bored. It is DH's birthday today...he went to help out his parents with yard work, and I am bored. I started Provera, I am on day two. I don't know if its the Provera or just my mood about everything. I am a little on the depressed side. I keep thinking...what if my lining never gets thicker and I can never have children. I have talked about this with my DH but he doesn't have any children and desperatly wants one of his own, not that he does't love my daughter to pieces. I am just in one of THOSE moods. I am going to keep my head up, especially since its his birthday but inside I am freaking out!!!!
