Are any of you going to that one?

That's exactly what I had to do! I am waiting again for AF. I had my 3 day labs drawn last Sunday. Maryanne hasn't mentioned anything about an IVF seminar and injection training to me. Does everyone have to attend that ?

Yes, "supposedly" everyone needs to attend, but the IVF seminar is Optional, but they say its required...its really just a "here's what we do at our lab and why we won't put the wrong embryos back inside you". I would not bother driving all the way or flying all the way just for that. It's only an hour or so and I made my DH take off work for it and he didn't need to. THey don't make you sign in or anything.

The injection training could probably be done anywhere...so I would check with Maryanne if its worth flying or traveling down for.

That's my two cents...course they may say something different.

Kristen, I will probably just see if she can do injection training one on one on a day that dh will be there with me. Maryanne is supposed to call me with my test results from bw Sunday, but I haven't heard anything...I saw my RE here today and let him know about the trial and he said he was happy for me. I asked him what he thought about it and he said the since it's on progesterone, it should be almost the same as if I were doing a regular IVF cycle, b/c the body doesn't necessarily need progesterone supplementation. They use it as a precaution in some women and many don't have to have it, but it is the standard of care.

I have been so tired lately. Work just sucks and I hate the waiting, waiting, waiting...Oh well enough of my pity party. maybe I need anti depressants or lots of ice cream. Ok time to go home from work now.

I started my BC pills for my cycle today!!! I am excited!! I do have to go have another (3rd one) HSG test next Friday but it seems like everything is a go! I had my bloodwork done today and they called back to tell me that my Estrogen Level is normal (38.?) I am kinda hoping to get the progesterone ring, from the research I have done it really sounds like it should work just as good as the suppositories and I think it work be cool to be one of the first sucesses with a new product. Just wanted to give an update... Hope all is going well with everyones cycles!

I'm already participating in one of their IVF trials there now and haven't had to pay anything except about $18 for antibiotics!!! All my meds, BW, u/s, ER and ET and one FET are covered by the trial I am in!

Their website is: The Center for Reproductive Medicine be sure to check their information under clinical trials. She said they are interviewing potential applicants who meet the following criteria:

Between the ages of 18 and 35
Less than two previous IVF attempts
BMI less than 38%

I hope some of you can benefit from this!!! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Thank you for letting us know about this! I am so excited. I was a little late to this thread, but I emailed anyway, and have already received an email back telling me to call first thing Monday morning to set up an appointment. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we won't need it, as I'm currently in the 2ww for my 4th IUI, but I am so grateful for the heads up. Our REI said that if this doesn't work, our next step probably will be IVF.

Well I know I am cycling in South Carolina but it will be interesting to see if my protocol is any different from yours in Tx. I am on Lupron 10 units every moring and the shots are not so bad. I am waiting for a call to make sure that I am in the study because in SC its a first come first basis. And you are not considered in the study until you start your Lupron. Do you all have the same requirements? I will be finish with BCP Tursday, and I will have an appointment on the 14th to see if I am ready for STIMS. If everything goes okay I will have ER and ET the last week in March. I hope everyone is able to get into the study and continue to post so I can see how you are progressing Tomeka.

Hey Tomeka - I'm not in the study, but I'm on the same exact cycle it sounds like as you! I'm on BCP and Lupron right now also. My last day of BCP is on Wednesday and Stim start on the 14th, ER around March 25. Good luck! Keep us posted on how you are doing!!

Cynthia - Good luck with your appointment next Monday!

Tomeka, I think that Houston considers you to be in the study once you sign all of the study consent forms. I have sone all of my preliminary work up and am waiting for AF. She won't be here until around 3/21, so I won't even start bcps until then. My ER/ET won't be until May.
As for the protocol, I'm pretty sure that it has to be a lupron protocol and then stims, but the dosages can vary by individual need depending on follie growth and E2 levels.
Oh, all of the info above is for the progesterone trial.

Hi everyone!!!

At the DFW TX clinic they said that I wouldn't officially be approved until the study gets my day 3 BW results which shoud be in any day but they also test them at the clinic before sending them out to the study and she said everything looks good! I am on BC until the 14 then I start Lupron and get my calendar for the rest of the cycle. I have been trying to calculate when I think the ER will be and I am thinking maybe around the 5th of April. Does that sound about right? I mean I know all cycles vary a little but what is a basic schedule like?
