I then applied for a job as a mechanic when I turned 21 and have been doing it now for almost 9 years

Heather - Congrats on a great report!! Won't be long now till you are PUPO!!!

Pris - That's pretty cool! Good that you found that out early that you aren't a people person! You wouldn't know that by talking to you on the boards though! I can't stand being "fake nice" to people...which is kind of what I figure a bank teller has to do. LOL. I'm one of those if I like you, GREAT, If I don't...well then I probably won't even talk to you...LOL. Enjoy your bed rest!!

Kristen, I'm an epidemiologist. I kinda work with bugs but not the insect kind. I do investigations on people who get sick from different bugs or viruses. I hate bugs!!!

Kari, your report sounds wonderful!!! I'm glad you got such great news this morning! One more phone call tomorrow to let you know that all of them are doing great and then ET on Sunday! Does your DH come back tomorrow?

HeatherJ, that is great news!!! You're probably going to have some totsicles left for later! THat is wonderful!

Rhart, it sounds like everything is going well! Your follies will just keep growing and you'll have lots of eggs on Monday or Tuesday! The LaQuinta in Webster accepts pets under 50lbs for no fee. The Residence Inn accepts pets with a $100 non refundable deposit and they are pretty high with their rates.

Jenifer, we did ring #2 on Tues. There is always pink/red stuff when we change out the ring (tmi). I hope that's normal. I had some of the left/right side twinges but I also fell a little crampy today. I hate analyzing everything! I'm trying to stay positive! I'm still eating pineaple and grape juice!

Pris, that's a pretty cool job! My dad was an airplane mechanic for 26 years in the military and liked it.

Wow, great variation of women we have on here

I have a question if someone can help me, maybe no one knows LOL, and in that case....we can all be clueless together.

I know that it's been mentioned that the valium isn't going to be given anymore at ET (and I understand that takes a while to get around to all the different clinics, so that's why we're still seeing it with ET patients on here). But, on the post about them stopping it, there was mention of another patient that said she almost refused the Valium because of what the doctor had said. Is not having the valium supposed to be a positive? I'm not quite sure if I should be happy or stressed at the loss of valium....and without the proper information, how can I properly stress? LOL

Oh well, just figured someone could shine some light on it. I thought that Valium was given in most all the ET's....so why leave it out of this one is what I'm asking myself. We're not studying the effects of Valium and progesterone....so again, just kind of seemed odd and I didn't know if they were changing it to increase odds or ???

Thanks!

Oh and I got my meds Nothing is in a foil package and nothing came with a cold pack....should I still put any of it in the fridge? I've heard some people put their Gonal F in there, but mine doesn't say to? I'm also on Lupron, Menopur, Trigger Shot HCG, Medrol tablets and Doxy tablets.....again, nothing said to refrigerate?

The Lupron gets refrigerated once you open the vial. The Gonal F also says to refrigerate if you're going to keep it for a while (longer than a month). DO NOT refirgerate the menopur (it makes it burn more). Nothing else needs to be refrigerated. I'm not sue about the valium. I think it's perfectly ok to get before ET since so many clinics do it with regular IVF patients...

I didn't refrigerate the lupron my coordinator said as long as it's room temp it's not a problem and I did fine

Today when I went in for ET I was given a valium half hour before transfer. She said this was to relax my uterus during the procedure. Hope this helps

Yes, DH will be here tomorrow night at 10 pm and he is bringing along his sidekick/bestfriend. I think we are going to go to Galveston on Saturday.

I just called my RE's office in KC to tell them how things are going. One of my RN's was here on Tuesday and she was accepted into the study as well. I guess she missed her flight so she stayed with John from CORM. She knows him pretty well as he works for the office in KC too. I was so happy to hear this news. I actually told her about the study when I first heard about it. I will have to tell her about this board when she calls me back.

I just read the past posts and love the idea of getting to know everyone. Yes, I have been a parole officer for almost 8 years and it is a great job. It isn't as exciting as it sounds though. It will be a great job to have while raising little ones. I am actually very shy until I get to know someone and then I let loose! I have been married for 2 1/2 yrs and we have an awesome boxer named Maddie. Other than that I am pretty boring now that I am almost 32 (5/23 bday). I used to be the life of the party back in the days.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get cheap airfare for 5/20 -5/22 and then on 5/27?

Can you tell I am bored at Starbucks??

Kristin- Back to your endo question. When I had my ER Schnell told me briefly that I have a mild case of endo on my left ovary. I haven't had any pain with my cycles yet anyway. I am so sorry you are in pain and very uncomfortable. I have a couple pain pills if you need any. Yes, I am a parole officer giving away my pain pills!

LOL...enjoy Starbucks Kari! I'd love to be there with you right now! I can check Southwest ding fares, I just saw some on Southwest a couple of days ago to KC. Personally I think SW is your best bet because they have the ding fares and there isn't a $100 change fee if you need to change your flight or anything. I'll check for you and let you know when they pop up. I bought my airline tickets to Vegas about a month before hand and two weeks before I went, they had a ding fare and I saved $100 bucks...so you never know.

** Just checked, the airfare on SW on the 27th is as low as $76 one way from KC to Houston. The 22nd is kind of high, but if you buy the ticket and a cheaper fare comes out on ding, you can rebook it and use the extra you saved as a credit...***

That was nice of John to do that! I wonder how he works at both of facilities...that seems weird!

I'm not real sure on the airfare. It's running about $255 for a flight to Houston from Lubbock with a 7 day advance. What airport are you flying out of?

I have been checking SW and did see they are a little higher on the 22nd. I am just so used to paying $200 tops for flights that I don't want to pay anymore.

Yes, that was really nice of John. I had his wife as my nurse on my ER and she said he stays in KC for 5/6 days when he is there and he actually stays with my DR in KC when he is there. I don't think the KC RE does IVF too often. Maybe once a month or every other month. It isn't a very big office.

Hello Ladies!! New Here!

Hi Girls!!! This is my 1st post. I've been "lurking" for a while! You ladies look very supportive and I can't wait to get to meet all of you! I'm doing the Duramed Trial in Maryland. Seemed like a great opportunity since I don't have any insurance coverage for IF. My DH and I haven't had any treatments so far but my RE recommeded IVC w/ICSI because of my husband's sperm count. She said if it was over 5 mil then we should do IUI, but it's still low. IVF is our best chance. I'm getting really excited and praying for a !!! I've had my complete work-up and got a "clean bill of health" last week when I had my mock transfer. I hope everything works out! I'm just waitin on to start my cycle.

Good luck to all of you!!!

I asked why they stopped giving the valium for the ET the last time I went into the doctor. The nurse told me that it isn't necessary to use the valium with the ET and with all the cases they have going on it would take to much time for everyone in recovery because if they give valium they have to keep you for 1 hour to monitor.
